I came here for an employee’s retirement luncheon and I know we had a huge party, but the service was horrible. To top it off, somehow, my «ticket got lost» so I was the only one that didn’t get my food. It took nearly two hours for the whole process and they finally brought out my food when everyone was walking out the door. I asked for my food To Go and since we had a retirement reception to go to immediately after, so I didn’t have time to eat lunch that day. They gave me a 50% discount off my bill, but only after my coworker made the suggestion to the waiter. What I did order was the lunch Prime Rib with vegetables. I tried to warm it up later that evening and eat it, but it wasn’t good at all. Maybe I’ll have better luck next time.

Came in about 630 today for dinner and the hostess wasn’t the friendliest by that I mean she didn’t say one word other than her body language saying she has better things to do. Was Sat down and waited for 5 plus minutes waiting for a waiter. Shooting from the hip I’d say about 40% capacity. My server started off good considering a rocky start he had said just one if them days management has them all over the place. Luckily the runner brought my food out, as I ate my entire meal and then sat for close to 10 minutes and observed my waiter getting a little chatty with a single woman sitting by herself. Did not get checked on once. He chatted with her for over 20 minutes. Sure I’m a guy we like to chase woman but do your job. Then again I would assume it’s OK there considering I watched the manager bs’n at the bar with another fellar during this time instead if managing employees. Finally after waiting for my check the first thing said was sorry got caught up. The food was good but service is terrible at this location.

Too bad Saltgrass Steak House has a new ‘points’ system for preferred customers. It’s a bit like a points card that you get at a retail store. It was disappointing for us to wait in line to be seated(eventually for 40 minutes) and to see customers walk in and be seated immediately and ahead of us. It made our head spin! When we asked we were told it’s because they are ‘members’ and get to jump the waiting line. It did not feel good to be in a waiting area and have others come in and be seated right away. We used to love coming here but this soured the experience for us. The manager explained this membership program to us and offered that if we were members we would have been treated as ‘preferred’ customers too. That turned us off even more. We waited a long time to be seated and then waited a long time for the food, it was a very long wait! Our server was very nice but kept forgetting to bring stuff, I can’t blame him, it was a busy Saturday night. As for the food, the rib eye steak was tough and chewy and we sent it back, kudos to the kitchen manager he came and apologized and replaced it with a rib eye steak that was absolutely perfect. This preferred customer system may work for many but not for us. We will not be going back. There are many restaurants in our area that offer great food without a selective seating system. Good luck to Saltgrass, no hard feelings. It was a personal decision, we are not interested in being subjected to a selective hierarchical system in our restaurant experience. It’s never about the money for us, it’s always about how we are treated. We love eating out and will continue to do so elsewhere. We’ll be happy to go back to Saltgrass when we hear that they gave up the membership system.

They definitely consistent in their typical fare. They aren’t anything superb, but I can rely on great salad, good blackened salmon and incredible sweet potatoes

I was here with my family. It is a nice place, nice décor and a friendly staff. Our server did an amazing job. I wish I could remember his name. Very polite guy with a very positive attitude. I order the T-bone so as my father. My brother other the Porterhouse. The steaks were really good. It’s hard to mess with such a nice piece of meat. The temperature was perfect. I do recommend this place. Only not so pleasant thing was the ladies at the door. Sunday evening is a full house anywhere and those ladies had a bad attitude, almost rude. I would recommend the manager to talk to them and teach them how to deal with a full house. Other than that, a nice place to go.

Saltgrass is the one and only place to go for steaks in Texas. the steaks are worth the wait, and if you really hungry you should go for the 26oz steak. it’s a great place for lunch or dinner, nice décor with stuffed animal heads on the walls, friendly staff and like I said the steaks !!!

Worst restaurant experience. 2 hours to get out of there and we were the first to arrive for lunch. Food was cold and found hair in wife’s plate. Never ever ever give this place your hard earned money.

Went there the day after valentines for a late valentines dinner with my boyfriend. Everything was awesome. Our waitress(and I feel so bad I cannot remember her name but I do remember she told us she was from Montana) was absolutely awesome, as a bartender I know excellent service. She was extremely prompt and personable, took great care of us all night. The food as always was awesome, I always get the filet with the coconut shrimp and my boyfriend got the chicken fried steak which is huge he loved it extras for lunch the next day! The only thing that I was a little bothered by was that when we were waiting for our table I sat at the bar to get me and him a drink(I know they were busy) but I sat there a good 10 minutes without service which I always try to be understanding like I would want my guests to be but when both bartenders look at you multiple times and don’t even greet me or give me a «I’ll be with you in just one sec» it’s a little frustrating I know I’m young and you don’t want to be bothered with me but I promise I probably tip better then almost anyone sitting at that bar. Anyways everything else was perfect and I will always come back here when I’m in need of a glass of wine and a delicious steak. Keep up the good work!

Bar Staff is incredibly rude. Not friendly at all. Poor service! It seemed like they hated their job and did not want to be there. We sat at the bar for dinner. There was a gentleman and a young lady behind the bar. Never once did I see them smile. They weren’t attentive. All I heard was complaining about to-go orders. They were rude to some of the wait staff. The whole dining experience was terrible. For an $ 80 dinner, it was so not worth it. I asked the young lady for a refill of water, she didn’t even acknowledge if she heard me or not, didn’t look at me, NOREACTION. For management: TRAINYOURSTAFF on customer service. We will not be coming back to this location. Side note: My steak was cooked the way I wanted, however, the mashed potato were COLD.

Visited this place the day after Christmas. Was quoted about 10 – 15 mins which isn’t that bad. They were steady. Got seated, can’t remember the servers name. She was okay. For sure remember is was a young lady with brunette hair. The resturant itself was clean the restroom was well kept as well. The food tasted really good. It just took forever for it to come out. I order the grilled chicken dinner the chicken was great the Mac and cheese was THEBOMB. My only issues was with my mash potatoes. Everything else was seasoned great expect those. They tasted so plain compared to everything else. Over all, I did have a good time and the food was awesome. Just skip the mash and stick to the cheese if you ask me

Good grub. The folks in the great northwest could learn a thing or two about steaks. When in Seattle I go to the Metropolitan steakhouse, few steakhouses can get it right if you want your steak blue rare, 1 out of 10 times at Neimans, about the same at Dirty Dans. The Met nails it.

I dropped by Salt Grass after a 3 hour drive from Austin just to order the«tenderloin tips» for lunch(they stop serving lunch at 4 pm). My fiancé has a thing for the tenderloin tips. We arrived around 3 pm and the restaurant was buzzing with people. We were told there would be a 45 min plus wait so we went to the bar. At the bar there is this huge window that oversees the main dining area. We noticed there were 2 open tables and 2 that needed to be bussed. After 20 mins of looking at these empty and dirty tables my fiancé took it upon himself to take a count of all the empty tables in the restaurant. He strolled around and counted 16 open tables! With so many people waiting to be seated we called the manager over and asked why there were so many tables open and no one was being seated. The manager explained that some of those tables could be a reservation, others reserved for a large party and he did not have an excuse for the ones that were not bussed. He asked for our name and told us he would go check on our wait status. He returned about a minute later and told us our table was ready just as our buzzer went off. The table that happened to be ready was the table that sat unbussed for 20 minutes. Needless to say if you come here and wait to be seated there’s likely a lot of tables open but no one bussing them. Our waiter met us with apologies and told us he was«the best waiter in the house.» That is a lot to live up to don’t you think? The best waiter in the house was very slow. We ordered our tenderloin tips and waited. We didn’t wait too long for the plate of delicious morsels was delivered. I have to say the tenderloin is very tender. The pepper corn sauce is almost too salty for me but the potatoes cut the salt. The«best waiter in the house» didn’t check on us much after taking our order and delivering our food. We waited about 15 minutes after we were finished to get our check. The best waiter passed us, made eye contact several times but just didn’t come to the table even when we flagged him over. We noticed he was too busy flirting with a hostess. We actually saw him grab her butt and guide her to another station. He talked her up while we looked on. We waited some more and then had to ask another waiter to flag him down. We paid the bill and laughed at that gall of some people. I don’t come to this place on my own. My fiancé and his tenderloin tip cravings are what keep us coming back. Sadly, even with this flat and pathetic experience we will be back. I just hope the service is much better for everyone.

I like Salt Grass, regardless of the cut of meat I order, I have always been satisfied, which is kinda a big deal lol. I can be picky. We went about a year ago, and have been there a fer times since. But that visit a year ago, we had the friendliest server, but one of our table mates couldn’t grasp her name(we are all old to from the 80’s Rock concentration, shoot, we can barely hear our own thoughts!) so to funny he called her Bill or Bob, something like that. She just played along and we had a wonderful dinner. When time came to choose a dessert to split, my husband and I couldn’t decide what topping to put on it. She recommended Crispy Crumbled Bacon. Boy did that draw a crowd all around us. There were two other tables that ordered it too! She was top notch and should be a lead. She knows people, and that is a gift. We only eat at this location because it’s so friendly!

Was going to give 1 star but after finally being served(after waiting 15 minutes and then calling a manager over and asking for a waiter) Tim came over and we had no issues after that. The manager came back and did ask if our meal was okay toward the end. I’m finally writing a review because we use to frequent at least once a week but it became common practice to either wait for a long time for a waiter to help us or the staff was rude. I see new managers have been hired but… same olé same olé.

After posting my first review about this restaurant I am going to let you know it ended. I received a call from the General Manager as he received a call from his superiors at corporate office. First off he was clueless of what to say, when he did say something it wasn’t as if he tried to win me over as a customer infact the opposite direction, and it just explained to me what problem was with this location and it started with the GM. He said to me, and emphasized sarcastically that I should give the another try. I would love to hear back from the vice president of this corporation instead of his short of customer service manager, back to charmschool, you did not pass your class.

A week after moving to Texas, my sister told me «Saltgrass has the best steak.» Three weeks later, I’ve finally visited said«steak heaven», and I would like to confirm that my sister was correct. The restaurant itself is immaculate(tidy) and decorated well. The service was superb in every sense. The fact the servers wear bolo ties is splendid. I ordered a Pat’s Ribeye cooked Medium Rare, with a Loaded Baked Potato and a Sweet Tea. We also requested the Queso Fresco, which is honestly the best cheese dip I’ve ever had. If you haven’t been, treat yourself and GO!
