Dick’s Sporting Goods

Tried to return my sons $ 30 baseball glove unused and with all the tags on, that we purchased a week prior, because the league was unexpectedly cancelled. I didn’t have the receipt but used my card so I figured they would be able to look it up in their system. I was rudely told that I would get $ 3.50 roughly back because that was the lowest sale price. I asked her to look the sale up and she called over her manager and asst. manager as if I was being an unruly customer. They Rudely told me that without the receipt there was nothing they could do. I brought to their attention that there was no way the glove was ever 3.50 and that I would accept store credit since we buy ALL of our family’s gear at their store weekly. That’s when the asst. manager and manager walked away and the cashier said, you’re holding up the line do you want to return it or not? I said for (roughly) $ 3 I would rather donate it. Not to mention every time we’re in there it takes a very long time (5 – 10 min minimum) to find an employee to assist you.
I will not shop here again, there is plenty of competitors with better prices, better customer service and better return policies. Dicks lost a customer that spent about $ 500.00 monthly in their store over a $ 30 glove!

Terrible customer service. I spent ten minutes trying to find someone to unlock a dressing room for me. When I was finally able to try on clothes, a staff member unlocked the door without knocking while I was changing and told me «you should’ve locked the door» and then slammed it shut. Overall, out of all the times I have visited this store, the customer service had been awful and the sales associates have been rude. I would advise going to scheels.

Each time I go to this location I tell myself I will never shop there again. The customer service is consistently non existent. Unfortunately they don’t have any real competition in cedar rapids, and I don’t enjoy making the drive to Coralville, so out of necessity I break down and return to get my son’s athletic gear. Each time I kick myself for supporting such poor service.

Bad experience. Went to make a purchase in the golf section, probably would have ended up spending a decent amount of money ($ 400) with them but the two old guys that work in the golf section fumbled all over themselves with their «knowledge» and I got the vibe that my questions weren’t worthy of their time. Luckily enough I had researched the product a decent amount so I had a good understanding of it. I had also found the exact same product elsewhere (pennysaver flyer at Scheels) and asked if they would match the price per Dick’s website policy but they wouldn’t. (The item was at Scheel’s in Coralville for $ 50 cheaper but I didn’t want to drive and also wanted to keep the sales tax local. Had I known they didn’t honor their own policies I wouldn’t have wasted my time driving there in hopes of having the product that day. I have attempted to shop here before but their prices were always a turnoff. I just cant fathom spending 20 to 30 percent more for the same item that others sell down the street/​online. I assumed with their prices you were paying for the quality of their service. But their service is on the same level as Walmart. You dummy’s lost a sale over a 50 dollar difference. And had you treated me like a customer rather than a «bother» the 50 bucks wouldn’t have been a factor for me. I will continue to take my business elsewhere. Overpriced incompetent and pompous is the summation of my experience with you. In the end, I was fortunate enough to find the product online for the same price Scheel’s offered with no tax and no shipping. Figured I made an honest effort to keep my business local but since I couldn’t and I didn’t want to waste gas driving to Coralville and paying tax, I would go with the online approach. Booooooo… Dick’s Sporting Goods.

They have a lot of camping supplys along with sporting goods. Its a dicks doesn’t everyone know what this place is? They do have a good size of golf clubs and gear here, but I would much rather go to nevada bobs for my golf needs, plus I feel like this place has really high prices on all their merchandise. If you like to over pay and see the high school kids that work there stand around and not be able to answer your questions for you then you must be a dick shopper.
