The Flamingo took on the Cedar River up to the roof line in the great flood of 2008. Today they reopened as a banquet/meeting hall and is open to the public for special events. The Godwin family which owns Winifreds, Naso’s and Xavier’s has done a great job rebuilding the facility making it better than ever with rich wood trim, open floor plan and big windows in the new addition. They’re currently open on Friday nights during lent for a fish fry — walleye or fried shrimp. They enjoyed a big crowd for their first night since the flood. Come out and support them next Friday!
