We hit up the three big breweries in the area on one Saturday(Lion Bridge Brewing, Third Base Brewery, and Turner Alley Brewing), and this was by-far, our least favorite. THINGSTOKNOW: –Great parking lot. You can park right outside the door without much issue. –They serve a full dinner/food menu alongside the beer itself. –Bar seating, booth seating, and table seating is available. Pretty large seating options, too, so I can’t imagine this getting too busy. We came on a Saturday night at dinner, and it was pretty empty. PROS: –Most of the tables have a TV right on the table itself. If you’re hear to watch a game or osmething, it’s really easy to ensure you can watch the one you want. –Pretty large, varied food menu. Reminds me of most sports bar restaurants. Some pasta, burgers, sandwiches, chicken wings, appetizers, and a couple desserts. CONS: –Service was pretty spotty. Drink refills were really slow to come — as was the check or our initial drinks. –The food was okay. Nothing amazing but nothing horrible either. –Just really wasn’t in love with the atmosphere. It gave off a definitely-typical sports bar atmosphere — which wasn’t bad, but it really wasn’t I was quite expecting. It just doesn’t have a «brewery» feel to it. –The beers weren’t too spectacular. Most of them tasted relatively domestic. They would have been fantastic as beers that you want to drink over long amounts of time. They’re quite drinkable, but they don’t have anything that makes them unique.

Its like a proper pub version of Rock Bottom. Go here for raucous times.

As a sports bar, love this place. I’ve only tried the wings which are good. I usually go for drinks with friends. Love the Bee’s Knees.

The classic ‘whatever’ place. Sits in a strip mall and has average beers, average food and average feel. Service for me was better than others who have reviewed the place, but nothing special — again, whatever. Only place open? Go there. If there are other more interesting options, pursue them.

This is our go-to sports bar in town. Great beer and tasty pub food, always good service!

In as much as I’d like to give this place higher marks, I can’t. The service flat out sucks and has been on the decline for sometime now. Have actually walked out of this place more than once because of inattentive servers. So, why do I come back? Because it’s within walking distance of my home and I’d just as soon walk rather than get a OWI. Food is marginal, assuming that you actually get someone to wait on you. Can’t speak for the craft beers that they brew, I personally can’t stand that shit. Pretty much a domestic light beer person. In a nutshell this is a hit or miss place, spin the wheel and see what happens. Or, just stay home, have sex then order pizza!

Great food but not always the best service. When we came in we were their third customer of the day. There were at least five waitresses working, but we only saw ours three times. She took our order, brought our food then the bill. She never came over to see if we needed refills or ask how everything was.

We love this place for the attentive staff, lively atmosphere and delicious and unique microbrews. I’m not a beer snob — just someone looking for an escape from tired Bud & Miller products — so Third Base is perfect for me. Love the food too!

I love eating at The Third Base! It has been nice to find a restaurant/bar that makes a great bar burger consistently. Everytime we have eaten there, our food has been prepared correctly and tastes great. The Brew City fries are the best! With a family of five, eating out is a luxury. However I don’t mind spending the money here because I know the food will be quality everytime we order.

Good cheese fries. Good beers. Their wings are normally pretty good. The menu could use some unique items.

Yummy food and very good service. Beers are delicious and they always have a unique variety. The buzz trivia games are neat, too.

This place was much better when it was Cedar River Brewing. That being said, it’s not a chain restaurant, have some unique menu items, and they are one of the few places in the area that carry their own beer. If you want a beer an typical bar appetizer go here. If you want lunch or dinner, I would just skip this place.

They have the best fries in town, their burgers, wraps, and nachos also very good. Really the food is quite good and there craft specialty beers they make in house amazing. I just don’t want to go to a brewery to have the feel of a sports bar it’s crowded and loud and the service is not great. So I always get my food to go and just drink a beer while I wait for it to get ready. But I truly do recommend this place to people.

I love to visit local microbreweries whenever I go somewhere different and this one did not disappoint. I had the Black Cobra and the Bee’s knees which were good well balanced beers with lower ABU’s which what I like and for lunch had the Blarney Stone turkey sandwich and a dozen wings with the Red Rocket sauce. It’s a barbecue sauce with a little kick. Good was excellent and served quickly. Our bartender was attentive helpful. Will go again if we had the time.

I’ve been about four times in the last year. The food really isn’t very good. Tried something different each time, and was disappointed each time. For example, the Taco Salad looked good when delivered, then I delved in and found it has some good looking stuff on top of a huge mound of questionable lettuce. The service is indifferent. I’ve experienced worse, but it could definitely be better. I doubt I will ever go back.

Slow service and ok food. The third base hefeweizen that I tried was a poor excuse for a hefeweizen. It tasted closer to a light lager and I was extremely disappointed. I then tried a Destihl sour ale which was very unique but tasty. When it came down to ordering food, I had to hail down the bartender(it wasn’t very busy and I was visiting at 10:30pm). My bacon cheese fries were decent at best but I did receive a very large portion. Overall I would visit again just to try our their rotational brews. I may come during the day and see if I get better service.

They make decent beer here, but the service is worthless. Ive been in several times over the past few months and I’m surprised if the bartender even acknowledges people who sit at the bar when they arrive. I have never been asked if I’d like to order food after waiting to be asked if I’d like something to drink… hey, guys, you run a freakin brewery. I’m not here to watch the 20+ tv’s you see from any spot in the place… Speaking of overkill, there’s a small tv at every table sitting where condiments and extra napkins go, so when your server inevitably forgets to bring you a silverware roll you’ll have to wait until they poke out from the kitchen to clean up. Ive heard the wings are good but by the time I get a menu in my hands I’m usually too annoyed by the ambivalent servers — all of whom appear to be younger women — to want to spend any more time there eating. If you’ve read my other reviews you’ll find a similar theme. IFYOUWORKTHEBAR, ENGAGEWITHYOURCUSTOMERS. ASKTHEMIFTHEY’D LIKE A MENU. OFFERSPECIALS. it’s not complicated, and biz owners should make sure to drive thus point home with their staff. You could have the best food and beer in the world but if your staff doesn’t do their job — their very basic job — nobody will ever know.

I give this place 5 stars based on there beer. They have the staple beers always on tap such as the Black cobra stout and flying aces pale ale and they are all rock solid beers and then you have there seasonal and one off batches like the two dollar Jim barley wine and the Kurt Russell double ipa both are excellent. As for the food it’s just plain good bar food. Great wings and burgers. So if you want great beer and some wings this is a great place to stop.
