Valentine Tree Farm

We love this tree farm! Nello will warm your heart on a cold and blustery day, talking about his trees while you cozy up to the big wood stove in the barn. They have U-​Cut and We-​Cut trees for excellent prices. We wanted to chop it down ourselves and he took the time to help us determine what kind of tree we wanted based on the pre-​cut trees on their little lot. Then he handed us a saw, gave us some direction on which field to head to, and off we went! The Valentine property is enormous — on both sides of Sullivan Road — and his directions towards our Fraser Fir were spot on.
The thing I really like about this tree farm is that the trees are farmed naturally, in that they’re just placed throughout the woods, not in rows. It was such a great experience to just wander through their woods, checking out this tree and that, until we found just the one we wanted. We chopped it, tossed it onto the car, and drove back over to the lot where he measured it and we tied it up real good for the drive home. Then we went into his great barn with a wonderful wood stove. He’s got snacks and a bathroom too, though we didn’t partake in either of those.
The tree is up and we’re about to start lighting it — man, it smells SOOOOOO good.
