Background: I was in search for an oral surgeon for quite some time now. I initially had a wisdom tooth removed at another location a couple years ago and long story short, I certainly did not have a pleasant experience. Let’s just say that: I was awake, I felt the pressure on my wisdom tooth that was extracted, and I felt the tooth get pulled out of the socket — it was PAINFUL. So since then, I’ve been searching for a practice and a doctor whom of which I knew, truly cares about his/​her patient. A doctor who truly understands the anxiety and the fear from a patient’s perspective — Fortunately, I found him — Dr. Steven Barney.
My first impressions walking into Dr. Steven Barney’s dental office was that the practice was overall, truly remarkable. It definitely has a touch of being a modern practice — very clean and very welcoming. The assistant (as well as the rest of the staff) at the front desk was very helpful and she was very friendly.
The dental assistant was very sweet, very friendly, and very knowledgable. She took my x-​rays, explained to me the procedure that would take place, as well as presented information on post-​surgery care.
I met Dr. Barney the same day. He came in and did a pre-​op examination as well as further explaining the x-​ray in detail. Dr. Barney in addition to that was willing to answer any questions I had regarding the procedure as well as presented to me the step-​by-​step procedures, as requested, to ensure the wisdom tooth extractions (3 remaining) would go smoothly.
After talking to Dr. Barney and his dental assistant, I knew that this was the place to get the extraction. I sensed that they both were very compassionate and very well experienced individuals who truly understood that from a patient’s perspective, there will be lots of questions, lots of concerns, etc. They both have addressed all concerns professionally and had made my experience VERY comfortable.
I truly, 110%, recommend for folks who are seaking an oral surgeon to pay a visit to Dr. Barney’s office. I promise that you will get the professional care that you deserve.
