I love this store. If you want to know where my paycheck goes — it would be here. Every time I shop here I find the staff to be helpful but not pushy in anyway. I always feel that while I may spend more here than a say a lower priced outlet store, I definitely get quality for my money. I would recommend going with a suit as a first purchase if you aren’t familiar with the brand. I have found the suit tailoring and quality for the money to be «the best bang for your buck».

I’d never bought anything from Theory before but was in the market for a nice winter coat so I thought why not just go browse to see what they have. Wrong. Hundreds of dollars later(and that’s the discounted price) you’ll find yourself outside the store in a daze holding a single piece of beautiful clothing and wondering what the f*#k just happened. Be warned.

I have always wanted items from Theory but was initimidated by the cool, sophisticated, sexiness and perceived high prices. When I walked into the women’s Theory, I was proven right and wrong. The store is laid out with new arrivals toward the front, sales toward the back and a mix of Theyskens’ Theory and Helmut Lang scattered throughout but clearly labeled. The 30−70% off retail prices sign in the window drew me in but ultimately, the clothes won me over. They are strikingly beautiful, a good length, and overall, flattering. Dan, a sales associate, came over to ask if he could start a fitting room for me when he noticed I had a couple of dresses in my hands. When he returned, I had found a few more items to try on. Instead of asking him to put the new items in the dressing room, I opted to follow him for fear of finding more things to like and buy. He didn’t seem sure about the sale and pricing but when I went to pay for three dresses, the cashier told me they had a tiered discount system. I ended up with 20% off my entire purchase and left with three dresses for under $ 350. The cashier wasn’t friendly and was kind of slow. I ended up chatting with her colleague. I don’t recall Dan coming to check and ask if I needed anything but I did get interrupted because another customer supposedly left items in the dressing room, and a sales associate came in to check. That said, there was probably a 1:1 ratio of customers to associates, and when I was there, I would say there were a dozen other customers. Despite that, I didn’t find the service that great, but I also appreciate being left alone so I could check out the merchandise in peace. So, three stars not because the selection is poor and the prices are high because selection is great and prices are decent, but because service was lackluster. A couple of additional things to note: sizing seems to run small here. I am usually a 6 or 8 and found dresses in 10 or 12 fitting best on me. They have one or two items of each size on the floor, and alledgedly what you see is all they have.
