All American Remodeling Corp

Looks like this is the first review on this page. If you’re searching for remodeling/​contractors on Unilocal,and you come upon All American Remodeling Corp, you’ll notice numerous entries. The reason why I’m leaving my comment here is because, as this page indicates, it’s for the Cerritos and surrounding area. But I encourage you to look at the other links for more great reviews.
I give this company 5 stars for two reasons: 1) Shay, the manager, has been amazing throughout the whole process and 2) The house looks amazing.
***I’ll note here that this entry was written on June 15, 2015, and at this point the remodeling is finishing it’s course. Updates such as pictures will be posted at a later date.***
A little bit of background: this was our (the owners and I) first major remodeling project. You can imagine our apprehension and anxiety throughout the whole process. Is this contractor good? Will they do a great job? Are they going to overcharge us? Are they knowledgeable? Thus we had to do our research, but inevitably place our trust and make our decision on just one contractor and hope for the best.
We made a great decision in Shay. An experienced man, he was able to give honest and helpful input, displayed great customer service, listened to our every need, and advised us well. He always gave us options, from tiles to paint, and countertops to vent fans, he made sure each process, decision, and purchase was approved by us. He usually did his best to minimize cost, he knows where to buy and what to buy.
These are some of the major the changes we made to our house:
1) Removed the popcorn ceilings
2) Removed carpet and tiles and replaced it with laminate floors
3) Recessed lights were installed where applicable
4) New paint
5) All new custom made cabinets in the kitchen complete with caesarstone countertops, sink, and fixtures
6) New appliances
7) Remodeled one bathroom: new tiles, wall tiles, paint, light fixtures, bathroom fixtures, bathtub, and vanity
8) Molding where necessary and applicable
Challenges:
Like any major remodeling project, we too came across our share of challenges. The project took longer than expected because of issues such as asbestos that needed to be professionally removed or sealed off, pre-​existing linoleum floors found under the carpet that needed to be removed as well to lay the laminate floors, an old circuit breaker, etc. Yes, these things did add to the overall expense, but Shay walked us through each step.
Overall Shay and his business is excellent and highly recommended.
