it’s now CLOSED! checked 5÷26÷10 — i’ve had both positive & negative experiences since it’s been open the past 4 years or so. — positive: coupon emailed for free basic crêpe, extra large scoopfuls of ice cream, sweet kids working the counter. got pretty yummy pasta dishes, in addition to all the basic sweet & savory crepes. note: you need to pay extra if you want strawberry, bananas, AND nutella. that combination doesn’t exist on the menu — very very negative experience: made my mom wait while working on a catering order. they took her order & payment. then told her to wait 5 minutes. she ended up canceling her order after 35 minutes! they gave her a hard time giving her a refund.

I haven’t had crêpe here in ages! My friend knows the owner so he hooked us up :) It’s a cute spot, but it is pretty pricey. You can add fruit and ice cream, but that’s extra I believe. It’s a nice hang out spot & good for dates.

Continuing on with the crêpe theme of the night, I see I haven’t reviewed this place yet. Their pastas are alright, but their crepes are what it’s really all about. I remember ordering one of the dinner crepes and that was absolutely delicious. I think I’ve ordered a ham and cheese as well as a shrimp one. As for dessert crepes, this place has got it down. I favor the Taiwanese style crepes, as they’re more crispy and tastier, but if I gotta settle for the French, the French I’ll have. The dessert crepes are light and filled with whatever it is you ordered in them. Very sweet as well. Customer service is a-ok. Nothing that spectacular. The place is a bit small so don’t come in a large group and if you would like to stay and enjoy your food, make sure no one’s around. You can’t enjoy a soggy crêpe at home.

I remember when I was going to school in Irvine, one of the many questions that I asked myself was: when will my hometown of Cerritos get their own crêpe place? Well, God heard my thoughts and shortly thereafter, California Crepes opened up. I remember, this place was initially in the works and took forever to open up. I asked the first owner shortly after they first opened what the hell took so long. She indicated that there were some personal issues that ate the majority of her time and thus the restaurant had to be delayed. I immediately felt bad for using profanity in my inquiry. At the initial opening, my biggest critique at the time was that they didn’t accept credit cards. They were«working on it,» but apparently«working on it» meant several months. I did not patronize the place during those months. That’s how much my decisions are affected by the simple gesture of accepting credit. I finally decided to come back here over the weekend after a long hiatus, and I figured it was under new management, as the people inside were different from a year ago. They also accept all sorts of credit cards now, so at least that part has improved. They have this lunch special whereby you buy a crêpe and a drink and get a second crêpe free. Just look for the little sign which indicates which flavors are eligible for the promotion. This past trip here, I took the chicken pesto and the chicken Marseilles and had an iced tea. Both the crepes were very good and I was pleased with the quality of the food. They were creamy and had a good amount of chicken inside. I also noticed that this place also serves funnel cakes! Damn, this has to be the only place in Cerritos that has that. Funny thing was that, in addition to my prayer for crepes when I was in Irvine, I was also wishing for funnel cakes… either here or inside the mall. And so it was done. In fact, all consolidated in one place! My only suggestion is that the place work on fixing its air conditioning immediately(as it’s the peak of summertime), and that the place invest in some silverware and real plates instead of all plastic forks, knives and Styrofoam plates. If you think about it, having real plates and silverware may result in either slightly extra work(washing dishes), but the savings will result in not having to constantly buy plates and forks and constantly taking out the trash. Patrons will also have an easier time eating the crepes, which tends to fall apart easier with plastic tableware. Let’s face it: having real silverware will also enhance the quality of the place and make it more Don-worthy. I wasn’t sure if the place offered free drink refills, but thankfully the manager was more than willing to give free refills. God bless the place that still offers free refills! The only way this can improve, I suppose, would be if the owner relocated the soda fountain to face out into the restaurant and create a self-serve station. This would be towards the bottom of things to improve upon, only after the earlier items have been addressed.

Their pasta is great, however you have to catch them on a good day to really be able to experience their complete menu. I’ve been here quite frequently, in the afternoons for lunch and during dinner time. In the beginning I was satisfied with their pastas(pesto chicken and shrimp scampi) however in my most recent visits, I was disappointed to see they were closed consecutively two or three nights in a row. The next time I came back for their«buy one get one free lunch special» and almost ½ their menu was«unavailable» due to their larger lunch rush earlier in the day. They ran out of ingredients, pesto, shrimp, etc. Additionally, their credit card system was also unavailable so they were only accepting cash that day. As for their crepes, I’ve had better. I had tried the strawberry banana with gnutella with ice cream. It was pretty soggy and kinda just dumped all together. Price, to me, is a little pricey($ 7-$ 9) just for pasta by itself. I wished they had some kind of combo with soda or a crêpe. In my opinion they give a good amount for one person to consume alone. Atmosphere is ok, no a/c so it’s very hot inside,(good for a cold night, bad for a hot day), small tables only for two people at the most, unless you move them together. There are tables outside if you prefer. Parking is annoying because there’s also a starbucks, cold stone’s, panda express, etc. and because everybody and their mama wants to hang out at this particular plaza the parking lot is too small to accomodate all the people coming here. So unless you don’t mind parking near target or the back of island pacific and walking, you’ll just have to wait for a decent parking spot(btw parking is 2 hours max or something like that and they mark your tires with chalk). I will only come back if I’m craving their pasta and get lucky that they’re open.

i just came back from lunch from this eatery. they’re lunch special is «buy one get one free» where ever that has«lunch special» sticker on the side of their menu, you can order another for free. i chose to get a meal w/free dessert! this is my first time trying their pasta. i had their chicken penne pasta w/nutella lovers crepes. i love desserts. i didn’t get a chance to take a picture of my food & dessert because i was hungry so i gormandized it until it’s all in my yummy tummy. they also sell funnel cakes! yay! so you really don’t need to go to the Fair to get one… it’s only around the corner. i love dessert so i recommend this place for you to try it out! con: –the joint does not have AC, so when i ate my hot food… it was really hot. –it’s located in a shopping center, so you have to fight for parking most of the time or walk far.

I’m surprised to see low reviews, but my experience here was vastly different, and if I could give California Crepes 10 stars I would! And no, I don’t know anyone that works there. My friends and I had just finished dinner at Kabuki, and we all seemed to unanimously coo, «Mmm…crepes!» when we saw their sign. We reached the door and saw that the doors were locked. The owners mouthed ‘sorry’ and told us they were closed. One of my friends, ever the charmer, tried to convince them to let us in. The woman sweeping the floors looked to the man behind the counter, apparently her husband, and he smiled and unlocked the doors. That was easy! The man told us that we were lucky because they hadn’t turned the crêpe hot plate thingies off yet. Woo! I ordered the banana and Nutella crêpe with strawberries, which was delicious, I am a bit of a crêpe snob, so I will say it wasn’t the best I have ever had, but it is better than average. The size is also very generous, I actually shared with my friend, and we were both very happy with the portions. The couple chatted with us like we were good friends while they broke down their stations, they told us about their families, we told them about ours. And they didn’t rush us to finish… I was there about six months ago, and I still remember their warm personalities. I’ve worked in the food service industry before and I know what a pain in the ass it is to serve latecomers, so to have the owners invite us in with big smiles was very cool. I don’t come to Cerritos much, but when I do next, this will be my top dining choice… I’d love to try their pasta next time!

I have to be mean because my family and I went to California Crepes on a Saturday morning. The owner and one teen employee didn’t look like they were prepared for us. Perhaps we were their first customers for the day. I ordered the shrimp scampi pasta which was divine, but messy. My aunt complained about the wooden tables being too sticky. I complained that it was too hot in the restaurant. The service was horrible, but I guess the price was o.k. for seafood: about $ 8.00 per pasta. To be fair, my mother and I had crepes at this same restaurant on a friday night. Crepes were faster to prepare and delicious. My advice is to try another crêpe place maybe in Long Beach on Belmont Shore. I’ve always wanted to try Long Beach crepes!

I’ve had better crepes from Irvine Spectrum and from the Century City Mall, but this place is OK. I like the cheesecake crêpe and the Ck Versailles. I used to look forward to coming here since it’s in SS and I’m usually in the area, but now it’s whatever. The crepes are super soggy, but I guess that’s just how it is sometimes. This place is slow at making your order at times, but that’s probably just the short staff and the effort in making it good. Anyways, I ordered a Ck Versailles one time and it didn’t look like the picture, nor did it have the ingredients the menu said it did. Weird? The lady that gave it to me was like… «Mmmm doesn’t that look good?» .with a weird smile hoping I’d take it. I was so turned off and I don’t think I’d be coming back. She could’ve at least said they ran out of the mushrooms or something and offered me something else.

I came here last night right as i got off work and was surprised to see that these guys were still open. Back when they first opened, they would accept cash only(and that was the last time i went back… until yesterday).I was pleasantly surprised to see they changed that policy. The restaurant was about 20 minutes until closing and i still got pretty good service. No eye rolling, no sighing, no huffy puffy. I work in food service, so i know how annoying it can be to shut down everything and then have a customer want something i just put away for the night. I asked politely if i was still able to order a pasta dish since it was so late and though at first they said no, they eventually said it was fine! I told them it was okay if they couldnt because i knew it was late… I ended up ordering the scampi, which is some of the best shrimp scampi i’ve tasted in a while. They give you a rather hefty portion of pasta and i was only able to finish half. My boy ordered the peanut butter crêpe, and i had the strawberry banana one for dessert. My only complaints are a) the ambience. Nothing european-ish, nothing at all. They played chris brown instrumentals during our wait for food. I’m not exactly sure what they are going for, or what exactly they are trying to appeal to. They serve crepes(french), then pasta(italian), and funnel cakes(american, i guess?). Just a little confused. b) the price seems a little bit high for two crepes and an order of pasta. All in all though, i’d probably still come back here for the good service, and the good food.

Just had dinner here. Kabuki was too crowded so I walked around and saw this spot. Crepes bring back memories of my ex’s grandmother cooking for us in France… I miss those times. Asking the guy at the register for a suggestion, he recommended the Chicken Versaille(baked chicken breast, mornay sauce, mushroom). The place was pretty packed. Small seating area can hold about 30 indoors and they have 2 more tables outside. The food took a while, but that was expected because of the crowd. The crepes were decent. The chicken, mushrooms, and sauce inside were nicely cooked. But the crêpe itself seemed a little undercooked… maybe it was just a little soggy from the sauce. But comparing to my first time experience in France…? Nah… not quite. The dessert crepes looked promising. I’d be willing to come back to try one of those. 1 Chicken Versaille + 1 coke = $ 10.01 And I’m still hungry…

I’ve had great crepes… and this just wasn’t it. The dessert crêpe selection is decent, but for some reason, the taste isn’t quite there. So on my third visit, I noticed that they now offered funnel cake! I’m going to repeat that just in case you all missed it — funnel cake! The last time I had funnel cake, I was at a county fair a few years ago. Right away, I dismissed the crepes and opted for a funnel cake with the classics, strawberries and whipped crème with powdered sugar. The funnel cake was a little well done, crispier than I’d like it, but it was still delish. I will mention that the service was excellent. The cashier offered us water and even brought it to us. As long as they keep offering the doughy goodness, I’ll go back.

Only went to this location once, l was wandering around the food court plaza on my lunch break trying to figure out what was quick and somewhat healthy to order. The location was very slow, only myself and one other customer inside who was dinning alone with a newspaper. Only two employees were working, a cashier and the crêpe maker. After asking the cashier what she would recommend ordering that would be somewhat healthy, she suggested l order the vegetarian crêpe with the red sauce instead of the white creamy sauce. l made my order to go so l could eat it at work and when l got finally got around to eating my crêpe it was made with the cream sauce instead of the red. No big deal since l figure the crêpe really wasn’t a healthy choice to being with, and the sauce was pretty tasty. A little too buttery for my taste but l wouldn’t mind trying the place out again later. Only complaint was that it did seem a bit pricey for just one crêpe, but then again l hardly ever eat them so l’m not sure what the average price would be.

Delicious food, not the best ambiance for the price. We visited on a Saturday night, ordered Vegetarian crêpe with marinara, Vegetarian with mornay sauce, and the spinach crêpe for dinner. All three were delicious; my fave was the Vege with mornay. For desert we sampled the Nutella and mixed berry, also yummy. Sadly, it’s café-style, order and wait service, not terribly clean, and the food comes on styrofoam plates with plastic tableware. Not the most pleasant dining experience for a $ 45 dinner for four.

I tried the Nutella crêpe. At about $ 5 it was a good value. The crêpe was light and fluffy. It was served with whip cream and powdered sugar on top. I’ve eaten hundreds of crepes while in France, I’d put this one as a reasonably good version of the French original. I prefer the French street version with Grand Marnier and sugar, sadly it was not on the menu. Nor was my favorite crêpe de fromage. I must remind myself that Cerritos in not Paris. I’ll be back to try more crepes. I hope they stay in business.

I’ll give this four stars at the moment but it is only for the strawberry and banana dessert crêpe I had which with tax was just under $ 6. It was incredibly good. However, I ordered a meal crêpe here once and thought it was okay. It was a three star crêpe. They were having a special where for $ 5 you got a crêpe, soda, and salad so the deal was 4 stars. I will surely go back for the dessert crêpe. Besides, I don’t know anywhere to get a crêpe around here outside of Le Creperie in Long Beach or somewhere in Los Angeles.

what? a crêpe in cerritos? yums! right. umm. no, disappointed. They’re so small. compared to the ones I’ve had at restaurants. for ¾ of the price for a good one, you can get this one since you have no alternative. It’s a fairly new place that was opened not too long ago. I think my boyfriend knows the owners? hehe. I guess him growing up in cerritos, he knows everybody =p. Anywho. It’s nicely decorated. tand you get to watch them while they’re crepeing it up for you. Your dish is done fairly fast, so thats a good thing. I just dont get satisfied after eating this like I did at other joints.

Crepes and Pasta. Identity crisis? Well, I had a banana fudge crêpe at this location and it was alright. The bananas weren’t fresh and the fudge was a little watery that day I guess. The place itself was small and quaint which might be good for a little after dinner snack or if you’re looking for a quiet place to talk to your significant other about something important. There wasn’t anyone in the store, so it was a little creepy and the person making the crêpe was also asking me a lot of questions since I was from out of town. But otherwise, the crêpe shell itself was okay(but how hard can you screw up batter) and it still kinda weirds me out that crepes and pasta can be sold in the same store… it’s just weird!

First Impression: Crepes and Pasta Co. is in a really busy shopping area with a Target and a Starbucks. The restaurant itself is pretty well decorated and clean. The reception is a bit chilly. The Menu: A good variety of savory and dessert crepes. The pasta menu is short and very similar to the savory crêpe menu. There are no fountain drinks, just bottled. What We Ate: We had a savory crêpe with cream sauce and chicken and a strawberry-banana nutella crêpe with ice cream. The Food: Good. The crepes were very good, they are a little on the smaller side. The savory crêpe had a ton of flavor and a decent portion of chicken. The dessert crêpe was also very good, it had a ton of fruit. The Cashier: Well, let’s just say that they shouldn’t win any customer service awards.(And thus, the 4 stars) BUT the service is sufficient. You order at the counter and they usually call out what you order and you pick it up. The Pricing: We had two crepes and it was under $ 15. The pricing is very reasonable, plus since there isn’t a server you don’t have to pay a tip. CONS: Unfortunately, the service. If you want a full-service crêpe restaurant, go to La Creperie Café in Long Beach. It’s worth the 15 minute drive, believe me. Oh, the parking situation isn’t very good on the weekends.

I was badly misinformed and got excited for nothing. At work today, someone broached me about a new place that was just opening up this week at Cerritos Promenade(across the street from Cerritos Mall). It was a combination of Crepes and Pastas. Naturally, I was thinking of weird mixes like Roscoe’s with Chicken with gravy to go along with waffles. I was just too darn curious and thinking about pasta being inside of a crêpe or to go along on the same dish as the crêpe like a pasta toppings. Nope, it doesn’t work that way. It is a separate menu column with crepes being sold along with pastas separately in a whole different section. Not only was I being let down, but was fooled completely by the name itself. The new place opened next to a Starbuck on that little eateries plaza. It was nicely decorated with a little feeling of Italian décor. Yet, it’s a crêpe place. They have two big crêpe oven grill heating up for people to see. With toppings and add-ons on the side. The menus was simple enough. They divided into four sections. The first one is all the sweet crepes which cost around $ 4-$ 5 with ice cream can be added on for 75 cents extra. The one that I ordered was a Nutella Lovers plate with a strawberry ice cream added on. That was probably the best one I am going to get from this place as I totally craved for nutella chocolate all the time. The second part was the sticker shocker for me was the non-sweet crêpe section with meat or cheese added on. It’s definitely more saltier, but I was surprised at the cost of $ 7 or so for those non-sweet crepes. I did ordered a Chicken Versailles crêpe which is a breaded chicken strip with special crème sauce all over the crêpe. That was not bad, but it did set me back $ 7 for that, which was almost twice the price of the better nutella crêpe. Overall, the crêpe was not bad. Not too soggy like IHOP or dry and stiff like some other creperies. There is one other concern with this place is that the wait for the crepes getting made is a little slow. If they can improve on the time and efficiency, it will make things more smoother for everyone involved. The other two sections was the pasta and salad sections. After what I saw on how big the portions were for pastas, I would definitely recommended people to skip it as Healthy Choice in the frozen food section has the same portion same, but cost half the price. Based on the look of it, it was meh at best. Nice start for the place, but I would stick with the sweet crepes for now and hope for the best on other non-sweet crepes. Finally a decent creperies that opened up on the Southeast side of the town.
