Italy Shoes & Boutique

My grandmother visited from Korea for the first time in years, so my mother (my grandmama’s baby) and I (my grandmama’s grandbaby) knew a trip to the nearest SAS vendor would be happening. These shoes are expensive, around $ 100 per pair, but my grandmother says they’re worth the money. We didn’t want to travel too far because my grandmother is in her eighties, but fortunately this store was just over a mile away from where she was staying, so all it took was a quick drive. She seemed pleased that the store was close by, as she doesn’t do well with long roads.
The owner of this place is Korean, so she made every opportunity to make conversation with my grandmother and give her suggestions as to which styles and colors of shoes would look nice on her. (But not to fear — she was able to properly serve the non-​Korean customer that came into the store soon after us with just as much sincerity.) The non-​Korean customer seemed wary that these shoes were «made-​in-​USA» SAS shoes because the rest of us were all speaking Korean to each other, but the owner emphasized that this store is an official dealer of SAS and that the shoes are indeed genuine. If you check on the SAS website (which is how I found out about this place because there were no reviews on Unilocal), this store is definitely listed on there.
I was very pleased that the owner was able to convert my grandmother’s Korean shoe size (245) to the equivalent U.S. size (7.5) without pausing for one moment to think about it. My grandmother simply stated her size in Korean and the owner gave a polite «neh» («yes» in Korean) and went to retrieve the corresponding shoes.
I’m slightly puzzled as to why this place is called «Italy» Shoes because SAS is an American brand and Ecco (the other brand that this store sells) is Scandinavian. Maybe it attracts customers because it gives off a fancy vibe? I don’t know. In any case, I was happy with the experience, and my grandmother now has two new pairs of shoes — one burgundy and the other navy blue — that are sure to last her for years to come.
