Straw Hat Pizza

I just left this pizza place so upset I paid $ 12 for pastrami sandwich and a salad bar that I ordered to go as I’m waiting for my sandwich to be ready I had a little bit of the the salad that I put in the container to go which it’s all you can eat salad bar as my sandwich was ready I was ready to go and I just put a little more carrots in the container that I got .this waitress by the name of Anna approach me and screaming at me and being so rude to me in front of the customers and telling me «you cannot eat the salad here it must be to go dont ever do this again» .with such a rude attitude, I walked out from the restaurant and I will never ever go back I work down the street in the car dealership and we always order pizza for delivery and ordering food from this place but after what I had today I will never go back to this place .
This is the worst customer service I’ve ever had in my life this waitress treated me like I’m a criminal that stealing salad I only had the broccoli and carrots.

Straw Hat — A family tradition for many years. We have been coming to this restaurant for many years (Pre my Unilocaling) and I just never did a review on it.
We came in to enjoy a Straw Hat Pizza, as it is my wife’s favorite pizza. I always have a salad bar and the wings. She always has pizza. The salad bar items were properly chilled and fresh. The salad bar was well stocked as usual. Their salad is always fresh, and well rinsed. Sometimes it’s actually a little too wet. But I really like their salad bar and almost always get another plate for a second round. To me the only thing missing from the salad bar is sliced olives. One would think that they would have them because it IS a pizza place and they have them, but oh well. As for the wings, they are pretty good, but not my favorite. I prefer Buffalo Wings.
The pizza this time was one of the best pizzas we have ever had here. The crust was perfect, not too thick or thin. The ingredients were perfect and spread out evenly. Every piece was properly populated with pepperoni, olives, and jalapeños.
The service here is ALWAYS really good. The staff is very friendly and efficient. For health and weight reasons we do not come here as much, but we will DEFINITELY be back. Maybe they’ll have olives on the salad bar.

Haven’t been here in over 15 years. This place has improved. The pizza was good, the service was great and the games spit out tickets the little ones can exchange for toys.
Decent salad bar and lots of TV’s. Solid beer selection and the staff is friendly.
Good times. Don’t forget to check in to get 10% off your meal.

I always go to the Goodwill next door and my boyfriend and I decided to try this place after shopping.
We got inside and it was pretty big. Plenty of booths and tables & they even have a small arcade.
We weren’t welcomed in. The cashier didn’t even say hello. The woman who brought our pizza wasn’t too friendly either.
We got a Medium Pepperoni, regular crust. It was pretty good. But as for service, they need to step up their game.
I might give this place another shot next time.

Pizza is so yummy. Flavorful! Love the sauce and love that it’s a thin crust. Spent a Sunday evening here with the family, it was nice experience. Will definitely come back:)

We had the chicken bacon ranch pizza, was delicious. The staff was friendly and it is a place that is kid oriented

Always come for the lunch buffet. At $ 6.99 with a great salad bar and good pizza it’s a winner.

We like this place, basic pizza fare… what can you really expect with pizza places like these… great for family, friends and kids. They have an ARCADE… with PRIZES … great for when EVERYBODY is wondering…‘what’s for dinner… LOTSA parking abound… so that should not be a problem!

All you can eat for cheap… good saladbar

Price is good, food is good, staff is friendly. Nothing special to really write about or complain about. Kids wanted pizza, we bought a fundraiser coupon book so we decided to give it a try. We’ll be coming back again.

Disappointing and bad delivery service… oh well, next! Ill try papa johns next time

My first visit here today. Clean place and good service. The pizza here is really not all that. The crust has no flavor and dry. I guess you can compare it to Little Ceasers. I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place.

We wanted some pizza during our visit to Cerritos and after reading some reviews we decided on Straw Hat Pizza and we were absolutely pleased by our visit to Straw Hat Pizza!
This was one of the few pizza places that was open late (other than the generic places like domino’s or pizza hut). Excellent customer service, very welcoming and friendly. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because our hotel was less than 3 miles from the restaurant but they wouldn’t deliver, but everything else was great! Definitely will be back the next time we are visiting that area.

Good specials for couples and famalies… friendly service too… didn’t get the salad bar, but it would’ve been a good choice… pizza and boneless wings were a perfect combo. Definetly will come back

Spaghetti and meatballs average for a pizza based restaurant. Overcooked noodles, watery sauce, and average meatballs.
Salad bar average. Limited selection. What they do have is just average.
Pizza in comparison to other pizza buffets is good compared to Hometown Buffet the pizza here at Straw Hat is superb. Toppings are decent but the crust is extremely thin like a cracker. Overall okay.
Soda fountain was great.

Service: I left out the person who brings out the pizza, pasta, etc that one time is great. But other than that one time you are initially served you don’t see anyone after that a true self serve experience.

This location is much larger than the spring street location and features a better enviornment to hang out. While Straw Hat is seen as a place for kids’ sports teams to go or for birthday parties, this location has a bar which allows the big kids to have a good time too!

We have been coming here for years. Love this place. The people that work here are very nice and friendly.
My kids love the game room… Even tho there isn’t very many games.

My brothers and I were given a $ 10 voucher via Groupon from my step dad a while back, so we decided to use it on Saturday, May 10.
–1 Star because we couldn’t use our voucher on their Manager’s Special menu, so we had to inconveniently do two separate transactions.
You will most likely get lost trying to find this restaurant, because it really is a small place (It is located in the same plaza as Marshalls.) Straw Hat Pizza is an old fashioned pizza parlor, which is almost comparable to Shakey’s: but better. A definite hole in the wall.
We totally underestimated this place, thinking we’d leave on a not-​so-​full stomach, since we are a BIG family. Wrong. We decided to go «all out» with our order and ordered two pizzas: 1 large Straw Hat pizza (basically, supreme) & 1 King Size (16 slices) BBQ chicken pizza. Along with our pizzas, we had a not-​so-​small appetizer platter which included wings, garlic twists (yum) and potato wedges (eh.) We also ordered two sides of fried green beans (delicious…my 2 year old brother loved it!) One of our pizzas was from their Manager’s Special Menu, so 3 drinks were included!
A little more limited compared to Shakey’s, but definitely better quality & worth your money. The size of our pizza was so big, that when we asked for a box, our leftovers were equivalent to a LARGE box of pizza, with 2 – 3 extra slices that couldn’t fit in the box. Yes, they were THAT big. So it is definitely worth it to bring your family here, especially if you have a huge one! I must admit though, the BBQ chicken pizza wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. Why? They added tons of carrots (weird) and I ordered that particular pizza for my non-​vegetable eating brother. Obviously that was a fail. But all in all, we were completely stuffed!
The place itself is fairly small. The arcade is even smaller though! As far as cleanliness, this place is pretty «dirty:» Lots of food on the floor, and the salad bar didn’t look appetizing. The game room is clean, and each game is about $.50 each, so not too bad. Their mini-​prizes are much better than Chuck E Cheese’s! As far as service, out of the 2 people who I encountered there, only NICK, the one who took our order, was the nicest one there. He was beyond patient with us, knowing that it was our first time and gave us some recommendations. The lady who was handling the prizes, seemed to hate her job with a passion. I did like that from time to time, an older man, perhaps the owner, checked up on us and asked us if we needed anything. He also conveniently took our unused plates so we would have space on our table.
I wouldn’t come back, only because I don’t like «repeating» places, but it would definitely be a place I would recommend!
