I have been shopping at this store since 2008. I occasionally buy my groceries at other stores, but this one is close to my home and to save time and gas I buy there. I know there prices are higher than say Walmart but I guess you pay for the convenience of location. The meat is terribly high priced. After they recently remodeled the store I noticed that in the side loading area of the store numerous pallets stacked. It was obvious to the casual observer that they were stacked in accordance with whom ever they were to be returned to with the acceptation of one stack that was a bunch of cheap pine ones, half of which were damaged. I’m helping a friend who wants to build a shelter for the stray dogs she feeds and so I asked the manager of the store if it was possible to get a couple of these pallets. Before I finished my sentence, he interrupted me and started shaking his head no and told me they had to be returned and that«they cost as much as ten or twelve dollars a piece« I didn’t expect to get them for nothing. I did expect not to be treated offhandedly. I am retired contractor. I had a successful business because I treated every customer with the respect they deserved for giving me their business. I think that manager needs a refresher course in customer relations.

With the big renovation underway, it always seems hard to find a manager; otherwise, a good local Brookshire’s location. I know they’re also very supportive toward our community.
