Wow, it only took Bokoo a year later to respond to my comment. I see some of the comments they responded to were made 2 – 3 years after those comments. Look, I can accept the fact that you wouldn’t take my trade in after the three year time frame, even though I had been a customer for years. What bothered me the most was the smugness and arrogance of the person who talked to me on the phone. He wasn’t apologetic at all when responding to me. He had an annoyed tone to his voice, and just snapped at me when I asked him about the trade in policy. The main other thing that annoyed me about Bokoo was the lack of communication. And please don’t give this excuse that«you’re too busy», or «it’s a busy time of the year» garbage. Rule number one in business is communication. If you don’t respond to your emails, why bother having any contact information on the website? It just shows you don’t care. Now I’m sure Bokoo will be in business for many years to come, as I’m sure they have a following, but I’ll not be one of them. I’ve had much better experience with customer service from other places. At least they have the common courtesy to respond to an email.

Ordered a bike from to be shipped all the way to New Jersey as I was part of the«Bike and Build» program that uses this shop as their distributer for bikes and gear. I ordered the bike later than I should have and it was not going to make it to me in time for my trip. I called and they were impressive in how helpful they were able to be in finding a way out of this impossible situation. Eventually they found a model they had ready to ship so that they could get it out to me faster. In addition when ups had the estimated delivery time past when I would need it they dealt with it before I even had the chance to ask them to and had ups move the delivery date forward to one that would work for me. Astounding. Wish this was my local bike shop.

Bokoo bikes has lost my family’s business! Their customer service is severely lacking and there is a lot of confusion and miscommunication between the owner, the technicians and the customers. Expect to wait a long time or show up thinking your bike is ready when it really isn’t!

Walked in with my two young bike-less boys and a scooter i wanted Bookoo to look at for repair. Bike repairman consults with other, apparently more senior repairman who subsequently informs me: «Nope, we don’t work on those». I mean seriously; if they had given us the time of day we probably would have walked out with two brand-new bikes to start the summer. Awesome! C’mon boys, were going to Erik’s(or any where else). Just very unfriendly, uncooperative and unwilling. If they would have at least explained«why not» I would have said«oh, I understand; now let’s go check out the merchandise».

I feel sorry for the owners of this place. In the last 3 years the service has become literally awful. They lost the Trek bike license a couple of years ago. Most recent example I have purchased 5 kids bikes there in the last 7 years. Today I stop in to purchase a $ 12 bike kick stand. I asked the kid to cut it down for us he said $ 10 in labor… We departed and went to Erik’s 1.5 miles down the road. Same price free labor to cut the kickstand. We have moved all service and bike purchase to Erik’s.

worst bike shop I’ve ever worked with — better to spend your time and money at one of the others — chain or independent. I was improperly fitted and yet, after trying a number of tactics to make it fit better, was told I’d have to pay another $ 60 to get a fitting. When taking my bike into 4 other stores, it was unanimous that I was sold the wrong size, and being new to road biking, relied on their expertise which was not of much value. Given they’re only a Giant dealer, I’d say look elsewhere where there’s a better vested interest in your biking comfort and utlimate value as a long-term customer!
