For a chain, it’s what you expect, just don’t come Sunday after church because they never have enough staff or seats. Food is as you expect. Fried food is crispy, veggies for burgers and salads seem to be fresh and cold. They over cook burgers like any chain and you will never leave saying«holy cow»! Of course the pies and muffins are always great and it’s an easy place to drop by quick before work or a party to bring something you know people will always like.

Horrible service. We sat at our table for an hour without our food and no one checking on us. Very disappointed. Will not be coming back for a long time

My wife and I go to different Perkins all over the state on our travels. Some better than others. It is a chain restaurant so you know what your gonna get with the food. Both my wife and I have worked for several years in the hospitality industry and I will be the first to admit as soon as we pull in the parking lot we start to critique everything from the outside appearance of the building to the footwear on the staff. The building was in good shape. Clean floors and tables and the dirty tables were cleaned up in a timely fashion. The men’s restroom could have used a face lift and it was in a difficult spot. There were no signs pointing it out. Also there was no sense of direction when we walked in. A simple sign that said please wait to be seated goes a long way. We were greeted with a smile from the young man bussing tables after a short stint looking lost and confused at the front door. Someone from the back of the house(the kitchen) brought us to our booth and after asking for a high chair he did bring us one. We would have preferred a quiet corner out of the way, but we didn’t want to be «those people» and ask to be in a different area. We understand the seating rotation that restaurants operate on. The general manager of the business came to our table after about two minutes and got our drink order and silverware. The server for the section had 4 – 5 very high maintenance tables and was busy so thus far kudos to the staff for the team work. Our server was a rock star, but just a tad on the chatty side for our taste, but it’s better than the contrary. The food as always was delicious and we each got a free slice of pie because we ordered entrees and it was Monday. I’m only giving 4 stars because it was confusing as if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait for someone. Also the restroom needed some TLC, but the service and the food was great. Next time we are in the area we will be stopping in.

I know not everyone is a Perkins fan but I love it! Food is great at a great price. Service is always friendly. Their bakery is on point! Love the desserts, but come on who doesn’t?! Had the hubby stop in for some bread bowls for beer soup I made and it was delish. I’m a big fan.

Let’s talk pie. Let’s talk about pie that wakes you up in the middle of the night. Pie that is so amazing you fantasize about it even though you haven’t had it in years. Whenever I am in Minnesota to visit family I make it a point to go to Perkins for their pie. Like a 5 year old, I press my face against the display at the entrance and study each one as if I am a bitchy Miss America judge. Oh you, yes you, strawberry rhubarb, you look just right today but wait, there is a smudge near your crust line. Denied. But wait, look at what the Reeses pie is doing sitting there all nonchalant next to the lemon pie. I see what you’re doing there and you’ve made it in to the top 3. Please take your place with the chocolate mousse and banana cream.

Is the food horrible? No. There’s however very little that is noteworthy about this establishment.

As far as breakfast goes there are better places within 2 blocks. It is all prepackaged no flavor corprate goodness. It is Perkins, just a step above Dennys.

First, it’s important to know that I was here late at night and there were probably many more customers than might have been expected. On another night, I might have had a different experience. That said, I was seated and asked if I wanted anything to drink. I requested a bowl of clam chowder and a diet coke, and they were brought right out to me. After that, I did not have anyone stop by my table once, even though a server glanced over at least twice, and I was waiting to place an order for about 30 minutes. Nobody offered me a refill, nobody asked me if I wanted anything else. Does it sound like I am complaining? Well… We are supposed to be honest on this site, right? And I’ve already Unilocaled about several places I gave 4 stars, so I had to justify the 2-star rating here. I do whole-heartedly recommend the clam chowder, at any Perkins I’ve visited! Always good!

What can I say about Perkins? I have said in the past that my time in High School(and when I’ve been home from college) has been punctuated by visits to Perkins. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just for coffee. It’s always been a great place to gather with friends. I even went there after prom and with my best friends before we all moved away to college. Just go there with a friend, order a bottomless pot of coffee and a piece of pie and let the conversation flow. It’s open 24 hours on the weekends, and until 1 am during the week. The staff has always been friendly, and I’ve gotten very familiar with some of them as a lot of people have been working there since I started going. My favorite item on the menu is the Chicken Tender Melt. Order it with honey mustard sauce and you will be in mouthgasm heaven. I give Perkins 4 stars because the prices have been steadily rising, and I think they may be getting a little too high. You can still get a good amount of food for under $ 10 though.
