It is Ok — Looks like a restaurant on its way down. That is a shame, because the sandwich was pretty good. Juicy with plenty of sweet peppers(True Italian). There was no lunch crowd which is a sign for me.

Italian gourmet deli is located in a strip mall. The restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside but on the inside they have really good sandwiches at affordable prices. The menu at Italian gourmet deli is extensive they have pretty much every type of food that you can imagine. I’ve heard that the cheesesteaks are the item to get here. I ended up getting the capris sandwich for lunch. We Caprice sandwich have fresh mozzarella roasted red peppers and arugula leaves. I didn’t realize that I ordered a sandwich that didn’t have any meat on it so I asked them if they could just throw some sort of meat on top of my sandwich. The one thing I thought that was interesting about Italian gourmet deli is that every sandwich they put the special sauce on top. It’s kind of like oil mixed with sweet and hot peppers and it really does complement the sandwiches very well. I could probably just eat that just by itself. The sauce is really nice because it soaks into the bread and makes everybody really moist and flavorful. I noticed that they didn’t serve breakfast all day here. There was enough seats inside but all of the seats are really close together so it made it kind it difficult to get around. American gourmet deli has a fountain machine as well as regular bottled drinks that you can purchase. There is a laser tag place next-door and you can definitely bring your kids in here to eat on the cheap. Overall. Italian gourmet deli is a solid deli to come to for lunch they have pretty much everything that you can imagine. If I’m back in the area I would definitely come back here especially for that really good oil sweet pepper sauce that they put on top of the sandwiches that stuff is really good. PROS: — solid cheap food

I ate there and the pizza was very good. They have a great variety of imported sweets. However, I tried calling in an order a week later for pick up but no one ever answered the phone. There is also no way to order online from . I don’t know if I’ll give them another chance.

Came in and ordered two paninis for my wife and I. Ordered an Italian meats panini and a caprese panini. Food was good but nothing mind blowing. Service was good, only took about 6 – 7 minutes to get our two sandwiches. Would recommend for a quick meal.

Took over an hour to deliver. They delivered the wrong panino. We ordered the Italian meats panini, philly with lettuce and tomatoes combo: fries & birch beer, potato salad, onion rings. We received the Italian panini: not good, had almost a sour taste; subpar soggy philly, I gave some of the meat to my dog; soggy fries that were once a frozen questionable potato like substance; flat watered down coke; greasy onion rings; and the potato salad went straight in the trash because it had a fishy taste. Waste of time and waste of money. I called them at 640pm and there was no answer. We will not be ordering & visiting the«italian gormette”(as the delivery man stated) ever again.

I’ve eaten EVERYWHERE in Chantilly as I’ve worked there for over 20 years. It’s barely average for quantity and the prices are nothing special. Probably the only thing keeping it open is the Expo Center. You can do better.

Okay, so despite my previous experience I returned to Italian Gourmet Deli today and decideded to try something different. I was pleasantly suprised to find that the spicy Italian sandwich was quite good! Will definitely be back now.

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. My wife had a Caprese Panini wtih very little tomato or cheese. She combined the contents into ½ the panini and it was still skimpy. I had a Meatball Sub. The meatballs were absolutely tasteless. I have no idea what they were made from since they didn’t taste anything like beef or pork. We had a nice afternoon at the crafts show at the Dulles Expo Center. I never thought I’d say this but stick to the convention center food. Avoid at any cost!

I was very disappointed I ordered the spicy sub the menu described the sub as having capicola ham, prosciuttini ham, genoa salami. I had two very lean portions of meat mostly lettuce and peppers. I would not recommend and will never go back.

There are several options for sandwiches around this part of Chantilly: Jimmy Johns, Subway, Santini’s and the Italian Gourmet Deli. This place is LEAGUES better than those others. The prices are more reasonable than Santini’s, the service significantly faster(and better!), and the quality of the food is top notch(the meats appear to be mostly Boars Head). Their cheesesteaks and panninis are all great, but where they really shine are their Italian sandwiches. They give you very generous servings of meats and cheese, and pair it with just the right amount of Italian dressing and peppers. I’ve had sandwiches that were too dry or too wet, but never here. They’ve got it just right. You can go for a soft roll if you wish, but the hard roll is definitely the better option. It’s toasted just right, with a perfect score across the top. Their Italian sandwich is of the same quality as you’ll find in New York or New Jersey. Apparently they serve breakfast as well, but I’ve never had the opportunity to try it. If it’s half as good as their lunch offering you’re probably making a safe bet.

I work at Franklin’s Printing across the street from Dulles Expo Center and they just dropped off some menus, so I thought we should give it a shot. Four of us ordered food: Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, Cheese steak Salad, the Ben Franklin, and the Bacon Bomb Burger. All in all: it was just OK. If I could have given it 2 ½ stars, I would have. The salads were small for $ 8. Not that Pizzarama is above and beyond better, but you can get a salad at Pizzarama for $ 1 more and its twice as big with more than just one packet of dressing. The bacon bomb burger was a dud. The bread they used in comparison to the burger itself was substantial and I don’t think two strips of bacon constitutes a «bacon bomb». If you like bacon, you’re better off getting a baconator or something. The Ben Franklin was good: Ham, turkey, bacon, cheese. It wasn’t spectacular and again, a ton of bread and kind of tough. I just feel like I could have made this at home pretty easily and probably better. Seasoned fries are just dry fries with old bay on them. I might go back to try a different sandwich, but ordering from this place will be few and far between.

I’ve eaten at many places in the Chantilly area. I was here for lunch and got the Washington Cheesesteak, and I loved it. Generous amounts of cheese and meat. Fries were cooked to order and seasoned well. Service was prompt, on account of the deli being entirely empty, which I thought was a bit sad. It’s definitely as good as Santini’s, but without the ridiculous line out the door. I wouldn’t hesitate to get lunch here again. My total was about $ 11, $ 8 for the sub, $ 3 for fries and drink.

We just happened upon this place while actually looking for a different restaurant, and it was pleasantly surprising. The counter service is quick, but friendly. They could be a little more helpful with details, like where to grab your food and stuff, but that didn’t change my rating. The sandwiches were fantastic and the portion was great for lunch. If I was back in the area, I would go again!

The Italian Gourmet Deli may be uncreatively named, but it has decent food. If you’re looking for a slightly cheaper version of Santini’s, this is your place. Substance first — our order consisted of a cup of Wedding Soup, a turkey Panini, and a ‘Washington Cheesesteak’. The turkey Panini was on thick white bread, grilled and hot — fortunately was not overly greasy like so many other places; the turkey thick and provolone tasty. A few tomatoes and pickled peppers added flavor. It was cooked well but I can’t say it was impressive — it certainly was good for what it was. The cheesesteak meat was very good, well flavored, with cheese and onions. The mean was not plentiful, and ultimately there was too much bread for too little meat and filling. But again, for what it was it tasted fine. The breakout hit was the Italian wedding soup — though not as hot as it should’ve been(may have cooled it for the girls) the sausage was probably home-made, the pasta was perfect, the veggies probably fresh, it was the best wedding soup I’ve ever had. If you’re a fan of that dish, you have got to try it here. The staff is very friendly and helpful — though it appears they’re probably new to the biz. Their main concentration was in back-end operations, which probably is fine in this case. The restaurant is clean though pretty basic. Small cramped seating and basic utilitarian setup. The parking is across a busy parking-lot street. We happened by on a Saturday and it was very difficult to find a parking spot as the bulk were being used by expo center visitors… apparently something having to do with dogs. We’ll be back, but trying other things. I appreciate the friendly faces and helpful staff.
