Do not frequent this establishment or you WILL be towed. Even if you eat here! You have been warned! Lousiest $ 150 cheeseburger ever!

Yo da McRib is back y’all…heard it on the radio yesterday, squealed the wheels over to the nearest MacDonald’s and ate some pork meat shaped into rib-looking stuff. It was great! Pretty nice McDonald’s as far as they go. Clean, friendly, quick, free refills on your ¾ Dr. Pepper and ¼ Cokes.

3 stars because I don’t eat fast food frequently. But when I did come in here to grab a smoothie this McDonalds was up to par. Clean most importantly and a good set-up. Way to go!

Why would anyone bother to rate a McDonald’s on Unilocal?I mean, aren’t they all the same? Not really. This one stands out to me. The people who work at this particular McDonalds are always smiling and are very nice. The food is consistently good, and there is no better place for sweet tea in town, in my opinion, especially for $ 1 large sweet teas. Even when they are busy, they usually can get you in and out quickly. The only improvement needed at this McDonald’s is a line to keep people in a queue. It is often hard to tell who has ordered and is just waiting for their food, and who is next, especially when there are a lot of people.

I’ve done so many cross country moves and road trips and what i like about this mcdonalds is that it reminds me of those small town, off-the-exit mcdonalds in some weird place like Iowa or something — because it’s clean and the consistency of service and product is good. I can say I usually stop here to grab a quick diet coke or something but sometimes i’ll drop by for a fish sandwich. I mean– as McDonald’s go — this is a nice place to sit inside — and it’s well managed. Mostly — it’s clean which is nice and the rest rooms — because often I’m en route to somewhere and, well — it’s convenient — is a bonus.

We can’t have gourmet food all the time, right. Sometimes we gotta just settle on that dollar menu love. Friendly service, big screen tvs, bathrooms are ok. Quick-in, quick out. McDonald’s equals classic.

So this McDonalds is nice-looking, I’ll give it that. But when you consider the prices up against some of the other places up and down Franklin, and when it closes, I’ll take my chances elsewhere. I mean, McD’s closes before Time-Out, Cosmic Cantina, Pita Pit, and I Love New York Pizza, all places you can probably get a better deal on food. And let’s not forget Carrboro Wendy’s, a magical place that has value-related foods(something this McDs seems to have less of. Service is okay, but it can be a little slow later in the evening.

«Why are you reviewing a Mcdonald’s», you ask. «Aren’t they all the same?» Yes. they are, except this one. This used to be a ghetto, run down and dirty-feeling Mcdonalds restaurant with a horrible design. Over this summer, though, the entire restaurant was renovated as part of the McCafe thing that Mcdonalds is now doing. You can call it a complete transformation: Everything is new, the dining areas are well designed enough to hold a lot of people while still giving everybody privacy and comfort. The restaurant feels and is clean. Even the food seems inexplicably better. And best of all… they play great retro music! At a Mcdonalds! If you’re in a rush, or jonesin’ for fast food, you owe it to yourself to check this place out.
