I lived in University Commons from 2005 – 2006, and I felt like the value and cost were pretty closely aligned. It’s an older complex(I would say it was probably built in the early 1990’s), so the appliances and construction aren’t as nice as some other places. The units are individually owned and rented — my landlord was Walt McFall. My roommates and I lived in a 4BR/4BA apartment on the third floor of Building A. We had a few issues with parking, mostly because if you came home after 11 pm, you had to park a good 100 yards away. The walls are thin and our neighbors were loud, but the apartment itself was in decent shape and we really didn’t have anything unexpectedly break. I did have some small items stolen from my car one afternoon, but then again I left the doors unlocked. It’s not the fanciest complex in the world, but it was cheap(er) and overall not a bad place to live.
