I like the vibe here a lot, with the house-type tunes not excessively loud and the LED lights in the bartop. Most of the time I’ve found the bartenders are pretty good at mixing up standard fare plus their daily specials. The last couple of times I’ve been, though, there have been some operational issues. One time, their computers were down and they couldn’t take cards. They wanted something they called«cash», and I don’t know what that is, so I had to leave. The most recent time, they were out of amaretto(the person next to me ordered an amaretto sour) and also mint, which was supposed to be one of the ingredients in the daily special, a variation on the Moscow Mule. I hope they get it back together and get the basics in order because it has been and should continue to be a cool space.

Nice little spot to stop in at and have a drink. It is decorated in a trendy way. It was friendly and clean. I’m not really a bar or lounge person but I felt comfortable there. Worth another trip one of these days.

Nice bar! The Sunday afternoon I was there they had great drink specials on domestic drafts. In addition, they were accommodating of the large group I was with. The hip décor and multiple seating options led to a fun backdrop for our afternoon.

One word: Swanky! From the hot pink accent pillows to the contemporary lounge furniture, the atmosphere is certainly one of the coolest things about this bar. Beer selection is a little skimpy but they have wine & cocktails as well, and for bar food, I found it quite tasty & reasonably priced. Grilled cheese & tomato soup was quite stellar, as well as the steamed edamame, but perhaps avoid the empanadas. Roaring fire is a plus these cold days & so is the warm & welcoming staff.

Located in the lobby of the new Aloft hotel, WXYZ is a trendy looking bar with neon lights and a large screen with some hyper-fast videos. In addition to wine and beer, there are a few mixed drink options — the NY Spritzer and Mojitos were refreshing, with the Mojito being a little too minty. The bar gets docked a few points for ambiance as it is located right by the front door of the hotel — you get a constant stream of people checking out and checking *you* out as they walk through the lobby. The outdoor view is almost eye level with the 54 traffic, which is not particularly appealing. This isn’t a bad option if you want to stop by after shopping at East 54 or are staying at Aloft, but I wouldn’t make a special trip out here for this bar.
