Great pizza(I love combining italian sausage & banana peppers.) great specials & my favorite calzones ever stuffed with a heavenly mixture of ricotta, mozzarella, garlic and whatever toppings you please! It’s got a college vibe since Andolini’s is located practically on the College of Charleston campus, and they spin good tunes.

This is one of the best hidden secrets in downtown! Nothing fancy so don’t come expecting that but the pizza is great! It is also not expensive and the slices are huge!

Andolinis Pizza(Also on James Island) is one of my go to spots for Pizza, cold beer and calzones. There’s nothing better than coming off surfing slightly dehydrated and in need of a cold beer and a slice. Pizza is thin crust(NY Style) and comes with the choice of toppings, I usually go with the everything, cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, Italian sausage, onions, olives, and pretty much anything else you ask for. Get the Greek and Italian salads, they come in cold pre-chilled bowls depending on the size you order you can’t go wrong, the dressing is a strong mix of oil and vinegar and it’s the bomb!

Large slices and pies. Andolini’s Special which is pretty much a Supreme Pizza is good. Crust is thin, not quite NYC thin, but was NYC crispy. Overall Good Pizza.

Thin crust New York style pizza. Pizza was great! Not greasy, saucy or too much cheese everything was perfectly balanced. Myself and my family really enjoyed the pizza and we are very picky about our pizza. Great late night find! Building had a unique charm. No free parking had to park in the garage across the street.

I walked past Andolini’s many times and it always looked good(important) and smelled good(even more important) so I decided to give it a shot. That was a mistake. Remembering that if I can’t say something nice, I shouldn’t say anything at all, here goes: the Fat Tire was cold. Full stop. Well actually, it was my kind of pizza place on the inside, pretty gritty, held a lot of promise but just didn’t deliver. We started with a Greek salad and an Italian salad. The Greek salad was actually pretty good so maybe I’m being too hard on this place. The Italian salad was nothing short of bizarre. At first I thought it was a plate of noodles but the noodles turned out to be thickly grated mozzarella and plenty of it. Hard to even find the salad and this went mostly uneaten. It looked basically like a bowl of intestinal worms. Not very appealing. On the pizza side, we opted for slices. I got a Greek slice(tomatoes, onions, banana peppers, black olives, feta cheese) and a slice of Edie’s Favorite(garlic, meatballs, mushrooms, onions, jalapeños). Both were very bland(look at the ingredients – how is this possible?), to the point that even pulled off and tasted individually, the jalapenos were entirely tasteless. I’ve since seen«no heat» jalapeños on store shelves so perhaps that was the case here. My wife got a slice of Vegetarian(garlic, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, green & black olives) and as you might guess, it was even more tasteless than mine. My son got a pepperoni slice(as did my daughter) and a meatball slice and both kids were underwhelmed(and these kids actually know pizza). Ordering slices may have been part of the problem. Basically we got slices of cheese pizza of an undetermined age(read: really old) with ingredients sprinkled on top and then blasted in the oven. The vegetables cringed and turned to mush and the meats crisped, browned and then dried into a powdery version of their former selves. Perhaps this doesn’t happen on a whole pie but I’m guessing that the tasteless aspect would remain. Mix this in with too loud, techno-grunge music and you have a recipe for a headache. Again though – the beer was cold!

Probably up there with my least favorite pizza in Charleston. I know it’s New York style thin pizza, but that doesn’t mean the crust needs to taste like cardboard. And stale cardboard at that. Giovanni’s on the market has NY style pizza, and their crust is awesome. Every time I’ve come to the downtown location, it’s been a hipster paradise in there. The service is always less than ideal – they pay attention to you long enough to take your order and then you’re basically on your own. It’s been a while, so maybe things have changed, but I’m definitely not in a hurry to go find out.

Andolini’s is easily a 4-star restaurant. Their pizza is good, not the best I have had, but good if you like big NY-style slices. The downtown location has a pretty cool vibe and is nice to eat at. The reason why I gave Andolini’s a 2-star review is because while I was there picking up my pizza one of the hipster pizza chefs turned to another guy and asked him if the ricotta cheese was still good. The guy quickly said yes, it has been refrigerated. GROSS! Okay, there are such things as expiration dates and ricotta cheese is only supposed to be good for five days after opening. It could have been good, I do not know but I for sure don’t want to be the taste-tester. This is just something you should never say in front of a customer.

I haven’t had pizza this good in a long time! Served up piping hot with the freshest toppings too. We really enjoyed our slices of «Edie’s Favorite».

This pizza is pretty good, but it is a little pricey compared to other places in Charleston. I usually only get a couple of slices with one topping each and a drink to keep the meal under $ 10. But, if you want really good pizza, you have to order one of their specialty pizzas. The Almost Hawaiian and the Greek are delicious! The slices are big and they give you a generous portion of toppings, but they also tend to be a little burnt and/or a little too crispy on the bottom. But, I think this problem would be solved if you got a custom made pizza as opposed to reheated slices. I really want to try one of their specialty pizzas with anchovies on it, but I’ve yet to feel adventurous enough. Overall, this is a cool little pizza place with good food. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a good slice in downtown Charleston.

I don’t know about you, but when I see the name ‘Andolini’ I immediately think of the movie ‘Godfather’ and I also think ‘Italian’, certainly with a name like that the pizza has to be good… well unfortunately, my search continues for good pizza in the low country, something about the cheese just wasn’t quite right… pizza is an art and most places simply just don’t get it. This is decent thin crust pizza, I’ve had better but if you’re just looking for a slice to tide you over, Andolinis will suffice… don’t let the name fool ya.

Shabby eclectic décor — check. Great pizza/breadsticks — check. Fun and helpful service — check. Great overall experience — check. Be sure to «check» out Andolinis Pizza if you’re in Charleston as you will not be disappointed! We headed into Andolinis on the recommendation of a friend who went to college in Charleston and had been raving about it. Upon entering, you are blasted with the scent of deliciousness. The menu is on a huge white board above the register to make the ordering quick and easy, and there is indoor and covered outdoor seating available. Warning: serving sizes are humongous. And I mean ridiculously large pizza slices and breadsticks. We ordered four slices of cheese and the three piece breadsticks with mozzarella. Everything was delicious, but we’ll definitely order less next time around. Prices are relatively cheap, and you can order beer/wine as well. Andolinis is a block off of King Street and was not as packed as some of the other restaurants over the weekend. Be sure to check it out, especially if you’re a fan of New York Style pizza.

I may be biased being from Chicago, but I’m not very impressed with Andolinis. Too greasy and flavorless. If you’re drunk and in need of grease absorption – cardboard can taste good. Also, if I’m going to be paying in the $ 20 – 25 range for a pizza — it better be damn good. Three stars– like their greek salad and stoned out servers/cooks. Overrated due to the lack of pizza joints in Charleston I would def hit up Mellow Mushroom instead.

Reminds me of Little Italy back in Athens, GA. A cheap place to eat. LARGE slices of pizza, definitely worth the price! Small greek salad serving size was also generous. Definitely recommend anyone who wants fast service to dine here.

The wifey type and I decided to walk around town and walked past Andolinis. I used to visit here in high school from time to time, so I forgot how good it was. Had the massive slice of cheese pizza for $ 2.95. It was sooooooooo good, just kind of melted in my mouth. As they say«That’s good ZA!». Definitely one of my top 2 favs in Charleston area.

During college I used to park at the Wentworth garage and the shortcut there brought you through the parking lot next to Andolini’s… you couldn’t resist the smell, garlicly tomatoes and melted cheese. Its as close as you are going to get to NY style pizza in Chucktown. Over the last 10 years I have eaten here when visiting and its always good. You can buy custom slices or the whole pie, the specials are always incredibly cheap and fast, the staff is friendly and easy going while still committed to making good food. Good memories of fun and friends, a hangout for most of the kids at CofC. Cool place, you will like it.
