Always great. Clean, quiet, comfy. Never have I been disappointed with the service here.

I came here for a one-night stay. Location is questionable, as it is located downtown which is supposedly close to ‘happening spots’(per a previous review), but it is also close to some shady businesses and lots of sketchy people wandering the street. *EDIT: After speaking with some locals, apparently the hotel is located with close proximity to 2 half-way homes and homeless shelters. Okay, on to the good stuff. And when I say good stuff, I actually mean the horrible, terrifying and uncleanly rooms, lobby, and halls. First of all, the hotel lobby is underwhelming; it is small, dingy, and has a meager little corner that serves as the front desk. The front door that leads to the lobby is one measly, tiny door that is easily missable. I think the lobby at the Holiday Inn in Panama City is nicer than this one. When we first walked in, it reeked of bacon. When I mentioned the smell, the front desk staff laughed and remarked that they had ‘just made themselves a little breakfast’. It was 7 o’clock. I’m assuming they used the food which was purported for the continental breakfast for the guests. There is only one rickety and questionable elevator for 9 floors. The halls are reminiscent of a horror movie, only except it is unkept and actually, truly frightening because they implement an «open door policy», and allows any body to come in and use their facilities. Did I mention this hotel isn’t in the best area of town? I am actually scared to leave my room. The rooms are truly what is terrifying. Windows and mirrors were covered in fingerprints and other smudges. If they didn’t wash the windows, what else did they miss? Bathroom is particularly atrocious. Looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since 2001. Mold and mildew galore. Toilet handle is half-broken. Bathtub is disgusting. I refuse to shower; I’d rather wait until I get home. The last thing to review would be the free breakfast, but it’s safe to say I most likely won’t have an appetite after staying here in this excuse for a hotel. Only pro is the price per room. $ 80/night. I guess you get what you pay for. Oh, and free wifi, but it’s pretty spotty. Needless to say I can’t wait to check out

I reserved this hotel for 4 people. When we went to the room we only had 2 towels, I called down to the front desk and asked for more. They said they were totally out of towels he also mentioned the were out of sheets and blankets and would not have any until tomorrow when house keeping got in and did laundry. Our shower did not drain properly and the water was, and I’m not kidding, up to my shins.

One night stay in June 2015. Arrived late and checked out early, so don’t have much to say other than a somewhat comfy bed, decent water pressure in the shower, and an okay breakfast. The crowd in the lobby at night was kinda sketchy, but I was too tired from a day of flying/driving to really care.

Horrible experience! Dirty, an «open door policy» where anyone off the street can come in and use facilities and food. One elevator for 9 floors. Front desk staff very unresponsive. Will be sending formal complaints to BW corporate.

Traveling with 43 kids ob a college tour. 1 room heat didn’t work. Best answer was add another blanket because hotel booked solid. 1 room toilet overflowed. Yuck. Girls had to take showers in my room because maintenance out for the day After getting kids settled came into my room & tv not working. Their solution –move me. Now there’s a room. Im done! Hope your stay goes better

Part of me wants to give 5 stars ’cause I was so happy and full of joy to be here, as we came to Charleston to see ELTONJOHN in concert and I LOVE him. But I have to be an honest Unilocaler; the place doesn’t merit 5, but was better than AOK, solid 3.5 stars. I would stay here again if I had reason to be in Charleston. This would be a «3 star» hotel in terms of hotel classifications and I’m reviewing it as such. Room was spacious and very clean, had refrigerator and good size flat screen with loads of channels. No micro. A little short on outlets. The beds were loaded with fluffy pillows and verrrrry comfy; bathroom was well stocked with towels. These days it seems most hotels of all levels really skimp on those, but this BW was a pleasant exception. Now on the soap and shampoo front, you know of course the hotel size bar or container is pretty small, but holy microscopic body bar! These were the teeny tiniest little bars of soap & shampoo/lotion tubes I have ever seen. Good quality product and prettily wrapped, but so itty bitty. I always bring my own anyway… if you stay here you may want to! Staff were all so friendly and really presented the«at your service» attitude at all times. They were well groomed, neatly attired and displayed professionalism and courtesy all around, even when you could see someone was under pressure, they did not ‘take it out’ on the guests in any way. The free breakfast was phenomenal. Hot, fresh and tasty scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, frequently being replenished. The beloved waffle machine. Hard boiled eggs, assorted cereals, yogurts, fresh baked blueberry muffins, REAL butter, bread, English muffins, bagels, with ALL the trimmings, including peanut butter, three different fruit juices in pitchers, fresh fruit, and plenty coffee. Only open till 9:30AM though(weekends too) so hurry down and do not miss this. You can have yourself something like a $ 20 breakfast and grab a PBJ sandwich for the road too. This hotel has nine stories… and ONE elevator that is maxed out at seven occupants. Keep that in mind, as the time lapse from leaving your 7th floor room to arriving in the lobby may be well longer than average. Free parking. Beautiful huge outdoor pool and seating area. Free fresh baked cookies in the lobby most afternoons. Free AND fast/dependable WiFi. Close enough to walk to the happening spots, including the Civic Center.
