Wow! As a history buff I have been to museums around the world. This is a must see! Beautiful flow of displays, lots of artifacts, informative videos and so much more. There is an actual historic cabin, a soda shop and so much more. Loved how the texture of the floor changed as the sections flowed from early times to modern times. Great for kids and adults alike and it was free!

I visited the Cultural Center to see a comedian(Red Green). Unilocal wouldn’t let me check in at the front of the building. Not sure why. The building was quite interesting. There were historically significant items around which I found some interest in. If you see a show there and have to wait in line, walk around the side and up the stairs to the balcony. Made my time there a lot better as the view was good, empty seats around so I could stretch out, and I didn’t have to wait in line.

I went to the museum at the Cultural Center with my dad when visiting my parents in Charleston over Christmas. I hadn’t been since I was a kid, and if you haven’t been in a while they completely revamped it. We were extremely impressed, they did a great job updating everything. It’s both a good look into the history of the state and a look into the way everyday Americans lived all across the 20th century. I only wish we’d had more time.
