I love the Purple Onion. They have a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, not to mention all the awesome soups and salads. The gift baskets and made to order trays are always a hit. While I no longer live in the Charleston area, I make certain to stop in when I visit. I always take away some of the coco dusted almonds and other treats only found at the Purple Onion. You will enjoy this quaint lovely clean market.

There are some items here that you can’t find elsewhere in Charleston. Mostly fancy-​schmancy oils, vinegars, and a handful of organic products. By and large, though, the reason I go to Purple Onion is to get veggies: the fruit selection is hit and miss, but the veggies are always very good and fresh.
