Dakota Watch

My watch needed a new battery and I thought this would be a good place to have it replaced. When I asked the gentleman working the Kiosk what the price would be he inquired as to what type of watch it was. When he saw that it was a Michael Kors watch he told me the battery would cost $ 24.99. When I looked shocked at the price he informed me that this is a «fine» watch and it cost more to maintain. He also told me that he was the only one at that location that would be able to change the battery if I returned later. I’m pretty sure if I had returned and spoke to another sales person the price would have been more reasonable. It’s a shame that sales people try rip off customers. I went to Gepetto’s Watch Repair where the battery was replaced for $ 7.50.

Dakota Watch is the watch kiosk located in the mall atrium near the Dick’s Sporting Goods and the kid’s play area. I strolled by the Dakota Watch Co. after buying a new watch at Fossil (woot woot!!) before Christmas and was drawn in by the selection of watch bands. They have a nice selection of classy watches for all price ranges and I figured an up-​and-​coming young professional like me needs several watchbands to sport for different occasions. In fact, the selection of bands/​faces was far better than a certain «premium» watch retailer (AHEM!!!).
The gentleman staffing the kiosk was very professional. He did not resent that I had just bought a watch at Fossil and wanted to purchase a band at his store. Dakota has a large selection watch bands as well (I bought a snazzy $ 6 band and got what I paid for but BUT THATS BESIDE THE POINT). Despite being a one-​man show, the sales associate took time to consult with about band sizes and even fit my new watch with a new watchband. Leave your little one in the play area, your teenager at Dick’s, and get your watch on at Dakota next time you’re at Northlake!
