Their ads for IKEA service are downright deceiving. While their quotes online give you«competitive» rates for assembly, they change their tunes/policies immediately when you ask for an actual quote. Something they advertise that they’d do for about $ 170 when straight to $ 250. I would not recommend their services to anyone.

The quality of the work is unquestionable. It was excellent! The painter did a perfect job. We had a big issue with the pricing though. Initially I was going to hire him for the stairs only as I was doing the paint job myself. Since he did not want to do such a small job, I asked him to quote the entire living room, hall and kitchen since it was the same color and a big open space. He quoted me for this job $ 500. My wife and I decided then to ask him to quote for other areas we already had planned to do: Bedroom, office and master bathroom. I asked the painter clearly: You are charging me $ 500 for downstairs, how much you would charge for EVERYTHING? He quoted me $ 600 for everything as he needed the work. $ 600 seemed fair as most companies charge around $ 300 per day for 2 painters. When he was halfway done with the job I gave him the money and he demanded $ 1100. I did not had money for $ 1100 so I told him to grab his stuff and go. He decided to call Manny(his boss) which clearly said to him: THEREISNOTHING I CANDO. I called Manny 10 times, left him 10SMS and no voicemail as his box was full. Clearly he did not wanted to face the problem and did not care about me as a customer. He did answer the painter calls though… I worked out a payment schedule and a discount with the painter, but even though I am extremely satisfied with the work, I will not use this company in the future. His lack of professionalism to face the problem is a big red flag.

Nearly everyone who lives in a house has a few things that slip through the cracks — the items that are just irritating enough to bug you as you walk past them each day, knowing that the longer you let them go, the more items will be added to the list — yet small enough that you are not motivated enough to spend the money to learn the trade to do them yourself or want to hire someone to do the job for you. It is in this area that Handy Manny excels. Perhaps most importantly, it is because Manny himself cares about the job he does, and he spends time in the execution of his craft, as opposed to many business owners, who simply book the jobs and then let others perform it. For our home, we had a couple of crawlspace doors that had seen many better days, and the water had taken their toll. Manny came out, measured the doors, and built them off-site, then returned with new doors to fit the openings. Or almost fit. He had to do some on-site trimming. Now — after rain-testing, no less — I can say that the new doors should stand the test of time. While he was here, I also had him move some cabinets from one side of the laundry room to another(something my wife would not let me do — yet another reason things may not be getting done!). We have even discussed some other projects for him to tackle. Now I just need to find more money for Manny.

What a fantastic job! Manny arrived on time and started promptly. I hired him to install a pet door in the wall. He made friends with my dogs prior to starting the job, always a good sign for me! I had to leave before he finished, so I left him to complete the job and he totally cleaned up: vacuumed, put the box from the pet door in the outside trash, washed off my deck and left me a $ 50 Gift certificate! I will definitely be using Manny again! Trustworthy, polite, excellent manners and a great job!
