Salon of Evidence Uptown

So I decided I needed a haircut on New Year’s Day and salon of evidence uptown was open. They are very affordable. My experience there was different than any other salon I’ve been to. Charles (owner) was very friendly and meticulous when I came to cutting and coloring my hair. He would every now and then ask me if I was ok, when he was lifting the color out of my hair which requires bleach. He was so sweet and I felt at home when I was there. I LOVE my short cut and color (. Violet/​purple with grey, high and low lights. I will definitely be back in the near future.

Since I plan on relocating to Charlotte in 2016, I had to start researching hair salons and other activities that I’m involved with here in Atlanta. After reading reviews and checking out websites on various salons I decided to try Salon of Evidence. This was in August, 2015. Charles does an excellent job with my hair. His salon is located in Uptown Charlotte across from one of my favor stores Dean & DeLucca. There were quite a few things that were important to me with regards to my hair. One products: I’ve been using Moroccan Oil Products (shampoo, conditioners and treatments) in my hair for the past year and they work wonderful for my hair. So it was imperative that the salon that I chose used products that worked for my hair. Another thing that is important is versatility and healthy hair: I had some breakage that needed some attention and Charles recommended a protein treatment which worked well in terms of making my hair stronger. He is slowly weaning me off of chemicals. You know, relaxers a girl’s best friend especially during the summer. I’ve not had one since July 3^rd. Every once in a while, between appointments or after sweating and playing tennis, I have withdrawals but when I visit the salon he reassures me that everything will be fine. When I see the other women with long gorgeous hair and no relaxers sitting in his chair I feel yeah everything will be OK. A couple of weeks ago I showed up and wanted color. I had become obsessed with going from dark black to a much lighter color than what I was use to. Well the way I figure it, if you are going to do anything do it big… So he colored my hair and I loved it. Sometimes I want tight curls and other times I just want a blow out. Whatever the case may be he will try to complete my wish. You know how we are as women we can be fickled. My hair is strong and healthy which is important in terms of retention and growth. The atmosphere is relaxing. Charles and the other stylist are caring and very talented. I love sitting back listening to the Jazz and watching them master their art.

Was in charlotte for a wedding and was in need of a haircut. Solon of evidence was the nearest place so I called and Charles was able to fit me in without an appointment. I received one of the best haircuts of my life. If you find yourself in Charlotte and in need of a trim, I highly recommend Charles.

Just went for my 4^th cut yesterday. Charles (owner) is very personable and has always done a good job. As one of the other reviewers mentioned, Charles is very meticulous, so allow for some time. From this guy’s perspective, if you are looking for a non-​pretentious, reasonably priced, uptown salon, this is the place.
P. S. As a small business with low overhead they prefer cash. Also, they have 3-​pack certificates available on Groupon, but give Charles a call first and he will take care of you ;)

After about a week of consecutive bad hair days, I decided it was time for a trim and reshaping of my medium-​long length locks. My head is weighed down by an unfortunate amount of thick, dense semi wavy hair that often times doubles as a blindfold as I move about my day. I found Charles at the Salon of Evidence on good ‘ol Unilocal and thought I’d give him a try. He is located down the stairs of the Fifth Third bank in a quaint salon that welcomes you with a handshake and a smile. He seemed to know exactly what I needed done to my hair without much instruction. By the end of my lunch break my hair was refreshed and I had made a new friend in Charles. The best part was the price– it cost half of what I would have paid anywhere else. I’m used to having my hair cut by less than personable stylists at trendy salons that don’t do half the quality of work that Charles accomplished. Usually my appointments consist of a 30 min cut and hour blowout. Charles got to the point and gave me a cut that I can style everyday on my own rather than loading me up with hair product to serve as a distraction from a mediocre cut. I highly recommend Salon of Evidence for a great cut and personable experience in the midst of a bustling uptown environment!

It was almost two months since I got my hair cut and I needed to badly. I asked a random stranger in a car and he recommended a place, but it was closed on Saturday afternoon, so I searched with my phone and found Charles’s business Salon of Evidence also near by in Uptown.
I found the place in the nice Fifth Third bank building and was greeted at the door by Charles. He was really attentive to my hair cut. Normally I have to instruct the ladies how to cut my hair and to make sure to trim a few areas, but Charles got it right. The atmosphere was relaxing and for a first hair trim in North Carolina I was surprised that he cut my hair so well. He even trimmed my eyebrows, which no one has ever done. «It grows too and needs to be trimmed» Charles said.
I’ll definitely be coming back for future trims and cuts. For me his schedule is a plus, open late and accepting walk-in’s. Happy about that.

Awesome! I was looking for a diverse salon/​stylist in a short notice for my sister and I. We were lucky enough to come across Charles at Salon of Evidence. I love my hair and he knew exactly what I was looking for as for my sister he gave her an amazing pixie cut! Great uptown location and great vibes!

My attempt to find a hair salon in Charlotte has failed. I have a very short cut. somewhat pixie that grows out in the back pretty fast. I went to one place at the recommendation of a family member and ended up with a cut and color job that made me cry. It’s almost two months later and I’m due for a trim. I called every decent rated salon in the Uptown area to no avail. I just need the back trimmed!
Salon of Evidence was the only salon I found that welcomes walk-​ins. I did exactly that on a Friday afternoon. I walked in. It was a odd welcome from the owner when I did, but I was confident someone there would give me a good trim. I felt good vibes there. ;)
I was assigned to Cybil. Sat in her chair, told her what I want done, and showed her a picture of what it used to look like when I had it cut in Chicago.
She went to work and was very meticulous as she trimmed the back of my hair and side burns. She even trimmed the tips to get rid of the dry ends and ensured the angled cut in the back looked more natural. When she was done she handed me a mirror to see the back and I was happy. I was charged $ 25 and tipped her well.
I decided to wait a few days to review. I wanted to make sure I had no problem styling my hair the way I liked when I was back home. Well, Cybil did a great job listening to me and cutting my hair the way I wanted it… back to the original style I love. I plan on going to her from now on when it is time for a trim.
A hidden gem in Uptown that won’t burn a hole in your purse/​wallet. Located in the lower level of 212 S. Tryon. Small salon. Personable owner. Stylists who listen and deliver. Walk-​in or call to check on availability.

As a frequent procrastinator, I needed a haircut on short notice, and of course most salons in uptown Charlotte were completely booked up for days. So while walking around during my lunch break, I spotted the Salon of Evidence Uptown sign right outside of the Fifth Third Bank building. I ran in not expecting too much…
Was I wrong! I was immediately greeted by a tall, dark, and handsome man and was guided towards an open chair. I wish i could remember my stylist’s name so I could give him a proper shout-​out, but I’m horrible with names and hope this will do. Needless to say, he treated me well and gave me the best haircut I’ve had in Charlotte by far. He was very meticulous and detailed, not to mention personable — making sure my cut was to my liking… and all I asked for was a simple trim!
And what really made me drop dem panties was the price. $ 20. I was completely shocked. $ 20 at any other place in Charlotte could barely get you in the door at any of these uppity salons.
I will be going back. No question.
