Most items were pretty on-​point. The chips were tasty, the slaw was quite good, and the pork really was delicious. The reason for 2 stars was that, in spite of the pork tasting fantastic, it was nearly inedible. The shredded pork was so tough it was difficult to eat. You take a bite, and half the sandwich comes with it. My mouth was tired before I finished my meal.

Very good breakfast and friendly service! Bacon and sausage is homemade and excellent. The biscuits and gravy were fantastic, so were the eggs. Would come back anytime in the area for a delicious home grown breakfast.

Way better than Ace Biscuit and barbecue and great sides! Highly recommend veal and squeal burger with Gouda.

Excellent pulled pork sandwich. The restaurant has a nice informal seating area with many interesting choices in the menu.
I plan to return to try more sandwiches.

The food was delicious but they completely screwed up our order. The owner acknowledged the mistake as our order was correct on the ticket but did not offer to fix the mistakes nor did he refund us… we each paid extra for cheese… My sister and I both ordered the bacon sandwich on a biscuit and added cheese and an egg for $ 1 each and my sister in law ordered the sausage egg and cheese with no bread since she’s allergic to gluten. We waited for 15 minutes and the owner came over stating they had run out of biscuits so we agreed to English muffins. (Poor reflection of food management considering it was 10am on a Saturday morning) Ten minutes later the owner served us three sandwiches, all missing cheese, my sister received sausage instead of bacon and the gluten free order was on anEnglish muffin. I asked the owner very nicely if he gave us the correct order, and his response was, «oh how did this happen… we really messed this up»…and shrugged his shoulders offering us no resolve. They obviously don’t know how to manage a business. Definitely over priced for the little we received… I will not be going back…

Great food and fresh!

All day breakfast place with locally farmed pork products. Bacon is especially good. I enjoyed poached eggs one time and a «full English» breakfast another. Free Shenandoah Joe coffee with every meal. Open till 8pm on weekdays.

What a great little place! It was fun to talk to the owners and learn that they produce all the meat and eggs on their local farm. All forest-​fed/​free range with no hormones or antibiotics. And, the owners make almost everything themselves. The few items they don’t make themselves are from local bakeries and venders. Everything was fresh and made to order, so you might have to wait a few extra minutes to get it. But, it is worth the wait! We especially loved the pulled pork with homemade barbecue sauce and the bacon sandwich with arugula on focaccia bread. We can’t wait to go back and try their breakfast menu.

Now they’ve worked out the kinks of opening. The food is very very good and certainly fresh. Good prices. Highly recommended.

Love it! So nice to have a place like this downtown serving local, responsibly sourced meat that is also delicious and not too expensive. We went for lunch today and had some of the best BBQ sandwiches I’ve had in Charlottesville, and I’ve tried them all. They had a nice variety of sauces to choose from so I chose the NC-​vinegar based sauce which had some great kick to it but the uninitiated might go for the classic sauce which my wife enjoyed. Meanwhile our 3-​year old gobbled up one of their delicious sausage sandwiches, all of this served on Albemarle Baking Co. bread. I notice they serve breakfast all day and even have some dishes that aren’t pork based, like french toast, but for the pork lover it seems like they’ve covered every variation. We waited less than 10 minutes and totally enjoyed the nice, spacious atmosphere of the place. I really hope they do well, because I’m looking forward to becoming a regular.

Arrived in Charlottesville around lunchtime, this restaurant looked like a great spot for lunch. Two of us ordered the pulled pork burgers, one with homemade fries and one with coleslaw. Two ordered the classic BLT, one with baked beans and one with coleslaw.
We waited for 25 minutes to receive our lunch. The orders were mixed up with wrong sides with wrong meals. The homemade fries were soggy and cold and when I say oversalted I mean OVERSALTED! The BLTs were average at best.
We understand the restaurant has just opened but if you’re not ready for customers don’t open!
We don’t recommend this restaurant sadly!
