Steak’n Shake

Really nice workers. Very polite but if you aren’t waiting 15 minutes through the drive thru, you’ll probably be eating cold fries. Out of the 10+ times I’ve eaten here, the fries are always cold or luke warm. You can’t beat the hot greasy burger though.

Will NEVER go back. We went three different times giving them the benefit of the doubt. Service is the WORST. Twice we were seated and that’s all no one came to give us silverware or take our orders. Once we had to get a mgr to even get a refill on tea. This
time (we sat there 9 min before my husband got up and asked for the mgr) there were four waitresses just standing there talking about personal stuff and everyone in the lobby could hear them. When my husband asked to speak to the mgr one of the cooks a black older woman wanted to know why he asked for the mgr, what did he want. When the mgr finally did come my husband said do you remember when I was here last and you had to get me a refill on my tea? He said yes and my husband said well no one came to take our order and you don’t have to worry anymore because this was our last time we are ever coming here. The service there is horrible, the waitresses are rude, I would recommend you spend your hard earned money elsewhere before you spend it there IF you get waited on that is. This is the 5118 Hixson Pike Hixson, TN location by the way.

HELP WANTED!
Tonight my husband and I decide to try our first ever Steak’n Shake burger. We walk inside and it is crazy busy and loud on a Sunday night. We decide to grab something to go and then decide that it will be easier to just go through the drive thru. Big mistake because the wait was excruciating. It took us approximately 10 minutes to get an order.
I ordered the garlic burger with fries and my husband ordered a traditional cheese burger with fries. He was so hungry that he started eating my burger by accident and was half way through before he realized the mix up. Anyway, I went ahead and ate his fully dressed cheese burger and it was quite good. The garlic burger was super greasy and overwhelming in taste. I would have returned it for a refund but my husband chose to eat it. The «fries» were not actually french fries. They were those little potato sticks that came in a can back in the day and were very crispy. These were the same, just not crispy. I would never order these, they just came with the burger.
We also ordered milk shakes, chocolate and strawberry. I liked my strawberry but didn’t like his chocolate at all, Yuck. He described his shake as «okay».
On the strength of the food alone, they get three stars, but I would not visit this location again.
