Econo Lodge

We went on line to book a room in Cherokee N.C.There was a 5 k run the weekend we wanted to go and there were only 2 room left In the area. We went to
and tried to make a reservation at the Econolodge.
We did not receive a confirmation so we assumed we did not have a reservation and we decided to go another weekend.
We received a call at one o’clock In the morning wanting to know when we would get there. We told them we did not think we had a reservation so we were not coming.
The next day we noticed on our credit card statement that we were charged $ 130.00 anyway. We called repeated to speak to the manager but got not response. The staff we did talk to were very rude and finally the rudest of them all told us the manager was not going to call and that we were not getting a refund.
We called at least once a day, being told the manager is only there from 10 am till 2 pm. Calling during that time the manager is still not there. After calling for a solid week to not avail.
We feel that since we did not receive a confirmation from either Econolodge or
we should not be held responsible for the room. We assumed the two available rooms that were open had been booked by someone else.
If we had gone without a confirmation and the hotel was booked we would have had no place to stay.
We don’t we should be held liable for their mistake.
We will never use Econolodge or
again.

You hear Econo Lodge, and you have concerns. Atleast I know I do. Well let me assure you, you can let go of those concerns. This place is an awesome place to stay for the price. Newlyremodeled property and super friendly staff. The only criticism I think would be the breakfast. But overall, cant beat it for the price… great place to stay for casino visitors as thats what we did.
