Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa

I always enjoy my experience at Hand & Stone. This time Will did my massage and it was amazing. He applied just enough pressure and had a great personality. Although this location is farther from me than the Haddonfield Berlin Road location I will be back to be massaged by Will. Everyone inside is super friendly; it’s an overall great atmosphere.

Had a terrible massage, to the point it hurt so bad I asked her to stop. I called and complained to the front desk after I left because the masseuse was standing there. She never relayed it to the manager. I wrote a bad review on their website and Corporate contacted that manager who then in turn contacted me. I explained the situation and was giving a free massage. The manager recommends a therapist, I scheduled and appoint with that therapist. When I get there, I was given a different therapist. It’s just a shit show at the front desk. The manager then says «oh, that therapist doesn’t do deep tissue» Well why the shit did you recommend her???

It was a very relaxing experience from the moment you walk in the door. Everyone was very friendly and the environment was very relaxing. I scheduled a massage and was taken back as soon as I finished a survey about myself and the pressure I would like. Overall it was a good experience. I only went here because I had a gift card. It was more expensive for non-​members I think it was a little over 80 dollars for a one hour massage for non-​members, but for members it was 54 dollars, so it was a big difference.

I was always skeptical of «chain» spas, opting usually for some of the more prestigious spas in the Philadelphia area. However, you cannot beat the pricing and membership benefits of Hand & Stone.
Because the price is so good, I was willing to accept that the spa services were so-​so. But that was until I had Laura as my massage therapist. I am very active running/​cycling 5 – 6 days/​week, which takes a serious toll on my body. Laura was able to basically reset my body and give my aching muscles some love.
I would equate her expertise and ability to some of the sports/​active massages that I received at Bliss Spa in NYC, which cost nearly $ 200 when all was said and done. If you happen to go to this H&S location, I highly recommend requesting Laura, she will change your life. I’ve already scheduled monthly appts to ensure I always get her.

This location is in the same strip mall as The Turning Point on Haddonfield Road. I called the marlton pike location around 2pm on Sunday and they were fully committed for the day. They offered to call this location for me. I declined and called them myself and was able to schedule a swedish massage for 5pm.
I have to admit this location has very enthusiastic employees and offer teas while you wait, unlike the marlton pike location. The lady at the front desk was so nice and happy to interact with each customer. She offered us all tea or water. She was particular about explaining directions, it was a joy to interact with her.
I was taken back to my massage room about 10 minutes late and my massage concluded on the hour. They alot 10 minutes to change and for the consultation and the actual massage is suppose to be 50 minutes but I was short changed some.
My male masseuse was pleasant, polite, and applied medium pressure just as requested. I don’t have many complaints about my experience but I didn’t feel particularly relaxed the following day, as usual after a massage.
Though the employees are a standout here. I would prefer the Marlton Pike location over this location.

Absolutely AWFUL. If they aren’t bringing the clients back late– you will definitely be waiting in the room for at least 10 minutes for your therapist. Then they stop 10 minutes early… So you do the math– they are completely cutting your time in which you are paying for. The massage was terrible– the therapist talked about herself the whole time and kept saying really inappropriate things and I felt really uncomfortable. During my massage I could hear the other therapists goofing off in the hallway– they were being really loud. When I told the girls up front they just said «oh my I’m so sorry.» Completely unprofessional. I will never ever go back.

Worst experience I’ve ever had! Was spoken to like garbage by the assistant manager named tony ann. Would totally recommend going to a different location. I was purchased a gift certificate to hand and stone for a birthday gift. They left the receipt in the gift bag so I saw exactly how overcharged the services were. I called to figure it out and was met with huge hostility. Needless to say I will never go here and I hope to use my gift card at a different location. The customer service was bad enough for me never to want to enter the premises. The owner Denise never even called me to try and resolve this issue and help save business. I never write reviews but due to the pure fact of how horribly I was treated I felt compelled. I’ll also be sure to tell my friends and family not to ever visit this particular location. Poor customer service hand and stone, just poor!
