NOTATALLQUICKREVIEW! NOTE: This review is focused more on this location than Chanello’s in general. INTRO: The Chanello’s pizza chain first came to the Hampton Roads area back in the early 90’s. As a chain it’s known for being inexpensive compared to other delivery places, with pizza that’s not the greatest you’ll ever have, but is usually pretty decent. In terms of price and quality, I’d put it between Little Caesars(on the lower end) and Pizza Hut. They were also one of the first chains to popularize the concept of «crust dipping sauce» with a little cup of ranch that comes FREE in the back right corner of the box with every pizza. When one opened near my house growing up, the price point made my father an instant fan, and from that point on my family had Chanello’s pizza almost exclusively. As a pizza chain, I think Chanello’s is pretty decent as long your expectations aren’t too high. This location does a pretty good job too. THEGOOD: This Chanello’s, like most you’ll find in the area, is open quite late. Until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays, and until 1am on every other day. For someone like me who is frequently unable to eat dinner late on weekend evenings, Chanello’s is a nice option to have. Especially in Chesapeake where most of the city shuts down by 11pm. Chanello’s also seems to give it’s franchises a fair amount of freedom in offering their own home grown discounts and specials, this location always seems to have one or two deals not listed on the website. I’ve always had a pretty good experience with customer service here. Since I’ve almost never been here before 11:30 pm, I’ve almost always dealt with the late night crew, and they’re generally the types of dipshits you’d expect working the late shift. They’re nice dipshits though, and although there have been times when I’ve caught a whiff of an odor that was clearly«not oregano»(if you catch my drift), they’ve rarely ever screwed up my order. The quality of the food is consistent with every other Chanello’s I’ve ever been to. THEBAD: Again, Chanello’s is not the place to go expecting some sort of premium pizza experience. One reviewer complained about the wings, and I will definitely say that if you’re looking for wings, Chanello’s(be it this location or any other really) is certainly not your best option. Really, if you’re ordering food from Chanello’s stick with the pizza, cheese breadsticks(which are kind of amazing), subs(which are OK and slightly overpriced), and the garlic knots. There’s not a lot of parking, so if favor carry out more than delivery(like I do) than sometimes this can be annoying. OVERALL: I personally think this is a good Chanello’s. Chanello’s food is what it is, and in the Great Bridge area, really the only other thing open after 12am is Wendy’s. Kudos to this place for being another option.

Ordered pizzas for years but recently, they have just messed order up after order. U ask for a thin crust they send hand tossed then get mad bc u don’t want it. an the other day I called to get a pizza an 6 wings an they told me 28 bucks. Said keep it for that price. Called later that week an they said I had been black listed. Guess they don’t like to be told they’re prices are too high for the quality pizza they sell. I’ll never go back an will always tell anyone that will listen about the service they give at this location.

Thought I found a new pizza place. . The first time e ordered it was great ! EBA pizza was just what we were looking for. . Felt like we got what we paid for ordered again last night $ 60 in pizza, a bit pricy but thinking it’s very filling and tastes great. . Not this time ! Not everything was on it that was supposed to be and if it made it to the pizza it was very little ! ¼ of what was on it last time made this time ! Some pieces only had cheese on it. .? Very, very disappointed ! ! We may try one more time before we move on. .. Will update after and take pics next time

By far the best pizza in Chesapeake & we’ve tried them all. Chanellos offers a great $ 24.95 deal to include 1 large specialty pizza, 1 large 1 topping pizza + garlic knots. We regularly order the BBQ chicken pizza, plain cheese pizza & garlic knots. All delicious & crave-worthy! Worth the try if your looking for that go-to pizza place.

Their pizza is pretty good, especially their EBA thin crust pizza. But how can you have EBA(everything but anchovies) and have tomatoes but no banana peppers? I had to sub that in instead. And I’m a bit unhappy with a lack of extra cheese when I paid for it. I think their subs, particularly the U.S.S. Norfolk are a bit better than their pizza, especially since they won’t seem to give me the extra cheese I’m ordering. The online ordering system is nice but for some reason it doesn’t recognize my address and thus will not work for me at all. I had to go to the actual store to pick up my food and the help there is not particularly friendly. All in all this is better than most chains and a nice change of pace for the New York style pizza in the area. It’s not going to blow your mind and it’s not particularly memorable but it’s pretty good pizza. P. S. Pizza places typically are good at pepperoni and cheese or with a lot of toppings, usually not both. This is one of those places where you have to get a lot of toppings, their pepperoni and cheese is kind of plain I think.

Wings were disgusting. Too much odd sweetness and black pepper. Pizza was worse than Cogan’s. Never again.

I’ve loved Chanello’s Pizza since I was a kid growing up in Bayside in Virginia Beach. It was the first Pizza I’ve ever had and will be the last. I moved to Atlanta 2 years ago and am so happy to be moving back just so that I can get some Chanello’s. I’ve heard people say that Chanello’s doesn’t stand up to Papa John’s or Pizza Hut or the other big boys, but that’s because they’ve never had a GOOD Chanello’s Pizza. The ONLY issue with this company is the inconsistency. That comes from the fact that they make ALL of their dough at each store and that it’s a smaller chain and doesn’t have a major distribution site like the big boys. I will NEVER grow tired of their pizza and Cheesbreadstix and am a customer for LIFE! I do wish that they still had their $ 5.991 Large 1 Topping pick up special but that’s the way of the world:(
