We sat down at 8:15 in the bar area it took them 10 minutes before the waitress took our order. We ordered an appetizer. It’s was slow I won’t be coming here until they get their act together

Staff is friendly enough. Asked for my steak to be cooked well done and it still had to much pink for me.

Ok so my last visit was pretty underwhelming. This time though there seems to be a reinvigorated kitchen that is responsive(our server apologized for food coming too quick following salad) and keeping things hot and fresh. Had the steak tacos and really loved them, they are close to a Sam Diego style street taco. Meat just a little crisp, just a little sauce which was awesome and fresh veg under. Nice and light prepared just right. Nice Job Outback Chesapeake Square! Just keep up the consistency, I’ll be back. Ok decided to have dessert, the new salted Carmel cookie is great, I’d come back just for that.

I know it’s a chain, and it is a busy Saturday, so we expected the wait for a table. But literally sitting for more than 15 minutes without being acknowledged at all is frustrating. But the manager got right on it when I told her and sent a waitress right over. We will see how it goes from here. Edit: the rest of the visit has gone well, friendly and attentive staff and the food was good. I’ll add some stars.

This is probably the slowest Outback in the 757. This location is always packed with different Mgt. each time we visit. No matter how many times you come here there will always be one waiter/waitress who will drop a dish. All outback food is consistently good, it’s the customer service and management that’s challenged per location. Do not expect satisfaction at this location!

I’ve only been to Outback maybe two times ever. The food is decent. Their medium steaks are juicy and good.

Pretty good experience. We just came in for appetizers and the wings were pretty good. I always request my wings be «well done» «extra crispy» or «done twice»… I don’t think they really honored my request but the seasoning was on point. I’ll probably try again and just re-emphasize the well done thing.

45 minutes to be seated on a Saturday night. I was in the mood for steak so I decided to wait. The waitress did not come out until 30 minutes after we had been seated just to take our drink order. Overall we spent almost two and a half hours sitting at Outback for a steak and a couple of appetizers ! This was not the first time I had been to this particular Outback but I wanted to give it another try before I completely wrote it off my list. This food is hit or miss, the service is awful! Even though the waitress smiled and try to make small talk, the timeliness and cleanliness of our meal was dismal! There has to be other Outbacks that offer better service faster times and a much better overall experience. I will definitely be in search of that particular restaurant next time not the one in Portsmouth Boulevard!

My husband and I arrived a little after 5 pm to avoid the long wait and the hostess said there would be a 40 to 50 minute wait. Looking around you could see at least a third of the tables were empty, when I asked the hostess about the empty tables she said that they did not have servers to cover those tables and that the servers shift would start at 6 pm. This is poor management, and this very thing happened to us before at this location. They need to get better trained managers if a simple job as scheduling cannot be done correctly. We will not be returning to Outback as there are other establishments who appreciate our business.

Went to have lunch to celebrate National Boss’s Day today and was amazed at the service we received. The manager, Linda, came by to see how we were doing, at that time we were munching on a Bloomin Onion, we told her all was good, when in fact the Bloomin Onion was wet with batter on most pieces. She made a round back to us just to take another look and noticed it herself and offered to get us a fresh new one to take with us. That is great customer service, even though we did not complain about it she noticed it and offered us a new one. Our waitress, sorry I can not remember her name, was pleasant as well. Thanks for the great service while we were out enjoying our day and Happy Boss’s Day to you too Linda!

Qualifier, I typically wouldn’t go to an outback, but I had some gift cards and figured a free dinner couldn’t be too bad; so wrong. This place is so poorly managed it’s laughable. From the time I walked into the waiting area, decorated with torn faux leather seats, to the time I overpaid for an absolutely mediocre meal, I was utterly amazed at how this place failed at every level. My wife and I were seated with no utensils. Waited 10 minutes for the waiter to even show up. Waited another 15 minutes to get our drinks. Waited 10 minutes after to get a soggy, oily mess of a bloomin onion. This is a signature dish? Shouldn’t it at least be decent, ha. Still no silverware and napkins. 15 minutes later silverware and salads. So far, everything is so bland and underwhelming I figured it couldn’t get any worse. I’d ordered a ribeye, medium, with broccoli and fries. I got a completely overcooked, thinly pounded mess of meat, tasteless veggies, and no fries. Waiter came by and asked how everything was, looked at my steak and said, «Wow, that’s definitely not medium. Can I get you another?» My reply, «lol No thanks. We’re done.» Sorry, we won’t be back.

Came here with my wife one late night and had the worst steak of my life. My 11 year old can grill a better steak. I have been to other Outbacks and this is not the norm. This establishment feeds off of the traffic from the mall. We will never go back to this location.

Had a problem getting seated at first, they gave us a booth for 3 large men and a poor cramped woman in which we couldn’t even grab drinks without bumping elbows. Got moved to a table instead and they sat us at a table smaller than the booth. Manager came and corrected things and then was our server for the duration of our meal. Excellent serving skills, but could have checked on our drinks a bit more often especially considering the place was dead. My younger brother and I ordered the porterhouse rare and he received a t-bone that the manager tried to convince him was a porterhouse. Blooming onion was dry and the salad was the best part of my meal. Oddly enough my steak was cooked to perfection but tasted like nothing. Prime rib and drinks were on point though. All in all I would go again, but probably not drop as much money on steak. My other brother had a burger and broccoli and cheese and said they were awesome.

We are waiting for our second order of cheesefries! First order came out a little too crispy! Fingers crossed!!! Tea never refilled water was per request. Meal was fine was a little disappointed with the veggies they were not as good as they usually are. Water seemed to be rushing us. Of course we got our second order of cheesefries 5 minutes before our entrée and then not even half way through that he was bringing us a box and asking about our dessert order. It may be a little while before we go back.

Well… I am sorry I have to report my worst experience at an Outback Steak House Restaurant. I ordered the bone in 22oz. ribeye– medium rare, Pittsburgh style and Parmesan fries. The fries barely had any Parmesan so they took it back. The steak was over cooked– more like a medium to well done. The manager came over and offered to give a 25% discount on the total bill and said that if I would be OK with another steak and he could get it out to me in about 5 minutes. I said fine. Almost 15 minutes later– the steak comes out and so does the fries. I gave up on the fries. Still not satisfactory. The steak– great looking thick cut was… now undercooked. Was able to eat the edges. I’ll have to cook the steak when I get home. The discount was generous but all I wanted to do was enjoy a good steak with my family. I would have preferred that instead of the discount.

This is the WORST outback I’ve ever been to. I came with a party of 9. Both of the prime ribs ordered were very tough. Both of the chuck steaks we’re extremely dry. My trio app had the avocado crab dip. The avocado was BROWN. My coconut shrimp were so terrible. Our blooming onion was BURNT. Do you guys not know how to change the grease once it gets old? You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that old grease cooks food faster than new grease. We sat across from the walkway of the servers. I guess the dish washing pit was on the other side of the wall because I heard wild animal noises the whole time. I must’ve heard the N word 5 or 6 times. And then I heard one dish washer tell the other dish washer to «OPENYOURASSHOLEUPANDPULLYOURHEADOUTOFIT» What the hell is going on in this establishment where is the managers? Oh well I met one manager he had to have been 18 years old. He was very polite, took the onions off our bill and gave everyone 10% off which was nice but it still doesn’t change my mind about this place. The worst absolute worst outback I’ve ever been to. The Middle East had better outbacks. I will not be returning. And I think I will be calling the corporate office tomorrow. This is just so unacceptable. Unilocalers beware.

I gave it one star because I had to. We sat at the bar. The smell of standing water was in the air. Little did I know it was right below us on the other side of the bar being used for the bar staff to wash their hands in to. Yuck. The beer on tap was flat.(no local beers either) The bartender was uninterested in telling me what they had. The food was over salted. Didn’t come out as ordered… not worthy of giving the details. I hate chain restaurants but we were limited for time. Anyway…not going to bother giving it a second shot.

This was my first time eating here, and I won’t be back. The fries were limp. My chicken tacos were dry, and my husband’s steak was full of fat. He said his mashed potatoes lacked flavor and were not fluffy. The side salads were more like a McDonald’s side salad. I don’t understand how they’re still in business.

I have been to this particular Outback a handful of times and for the life of me I cannot explain why I visited this location more than once other than out of convenience and laziness. Each experience has had issues. Once, I sat at the bar waiting for a table, was told a 30 minute wait and after 45 minutes went to see why I had not been seated — the hostess had simply skipped our name. Another visit, I wanted to try something other than steak so went with pork. It was cooked to the consistency of shoe leather although I ordered it medium. Mashed potatoes are not fluffy or creamy, but rather a gloppy mess. I’ve never had a greasier Blooming Onion that I have in this location. I will say that while meals do take a while to prepare, our servers have always been consistently friendly. Service is the only redeeming factor here, but not enough to warrant another star. I am sorry to be so harsh. I don’t hate Outback. Normally if you are looking for a quick steak or perhaps some wings, they are ok — nothing spectacular, but usually consistent and decent as chain steak houses go. This location however, just consistently gets it wrong. I will not be back!

I had plans to have lunch with my parents this past weekend & we were trying to figure out where to eat. They are serial chain restaurant eaters, so my Dad picked Outback. We hadn’t dined at this location in years, but I remember it being nothing special. There wasn’t a wait in the middle of the afternoon, so we were quickly seated & our friendly server brought out our drinks. Their lunch menu is pretty pathetic for a steak place. There were only 3 steak options. The rest looked like they copy & pasted an Applebees menu. My mom & I went with the 6oz sirloin with a dressed baked potato. My dad ordered a hamburger & we all added a side salad. My dad was pleased with his burger, but my mom & I were super disappointed in our lunch. My steak was cooked perfectly, but had zero flavor. How is that possible? It didn’t taste like anything. I had to add salt & pepper to eat it. My mom’s steak was sad looking & she said full of fat. The baked potatoes were very small & dry. The best thing about our lunch was the side salads & somewhat overcooked bread. So unless they want to rename themselves the«Outback Saladhouse» I’m pretty much sold on never returning.
