I went today to get some sweets. There’s a sign on the door that says because they’re working on relocating, they’re not taking any cake orders in January or February. Well, OK. .. but I just wanted a couple cupcakes. But the door was locked. No word on when they’ll be open again. Just as I arrived, a young man and his daughter pulled in. They were disappointed, too!

We live in DC and have tried Georgetown Cupcakes. They are on DC Cupcakes. Their cupcakes lacked flavor and were not worth what they charge. When visiting Chesterfield we had a craving for some cupcakes. We looked on the web and found out about Whipt Cream. We went ad got a dozen of cupcakes. We bit into one and it was like awesome. It had flavor and was the best cupcake we had came across. Cupcakes for us bring back a child hood memory and it’s nice to find a place like this one that can take you back to that time.

The cupcakes are good but the service is terrible. It seems like the only thing they care about is the cakes they are making in the back. I have been here several times and there is never a warm and friendly feel, it’s more like you are bothering me while I am busy decorating cakes. Advice, if you want walk in business then make people feel welcome. I have also never written a review but I was there today and it was the worst experience I have ever had at any store so I had to share.

In looking for cupcakes for my wedding, me and my mom tried a few cupcakes. We tried a couple of different flavors, but I am a sucker for Red Velvet and it was amazing. The frosting was so good. I couldn’t believe how light it was. Everyone in the shop was super friendly and the cupcakes are some of the best in St. Louis! I highly recommend going if you are out in the Chesterfield Valley and have a hankering for something sweet and delicious!

We have chosen Whipt Cream to make our wedding cake/cupcakes! Let me start with their falvors. The best cupcakes I think I have ever had was Whipt Cream’s Golden Oreo cupcake. It was yellow cake, with a golden oreo baked inside of it(which made it super flavorful, the oreo was soft and delicious). Then it had a vanilla buttercream rolled in golden oreo crumbs! I know. It REALLY is as good as it sounds. They also have the best cream cheese frosting I’ve ever had. Try the carrot cake and the must have Red Velvet. As far as wedding stuff goes the consultant was very helpful and super friendly. She helped us find the perfect price point and style to suit our wedding theme! Check this place out if you are in Chesterfield Valley.

I will mention right off the bat, that Whipt Cream utilizes Italian Butter Cream frostings. To me, reading this on their menu makes it sounds decadent, rich and buttery. If that is what you’re shooting for… this is not the place for you. Now, after reading that Italian Buttercream is also known as meringue buttercream… that it is very soft and light, Whipt Cream nails this. However, I love the typical, standard buttercream. I like it heavy and rich and buttery. I bought 3 cupcakes so I could have a good sample section… and share. I got the Double Chocolate, Coconut Cream and the Peanut Butter Cup. I felt that the cake on the PB Cup was a little over done, but had decent flavor. The Double Chocolate was my favorite, but it wasn’t «my type». I like ‘em tall, dark and rich, and Whipt Cream might have the light, airy thing down, but not my type. The store location is open, airy and I loved that I could watch the bakers do their thing as I looked at the cupcake selection. I loved the concept, and should I like frosting a little more light and whipped cream tasting, this would be a great place. A-Ok Cupcaking

I FINALLY got to try this place after it’s been on my list for ages. It’s so far away! But it was a fun trip over. I wanted to try a good red velvet cake in St Louis since I haven’t yet, so that’s what I ordered here, and my bf asked for the almond green tea cupcake since it was the last day for it(monthly flavor). The red velvet cake was unlike anything I had ever tasted before. The cocoa is very very strong and at first I almost thought there was alcohol in the cake. Also, without the frosting, the cake wasn’t sweet whatsoever and didn’t taste much like anything. But that’s why the sweet frosting comes in handy! It was a great complement to the cake, and it was rather delicious. Definitely one of my favorites. As for the green tea almond, my bf found it a bit sweet but when he had it with coffee he rather enjoyed it. The girl at the counter said we would like it if we liked Amaretto but I honestly didn’t taste much of it in the cake. The green tea was very mild to non-existent but overall, it was pleasant. I’m not sure more green tea would have been better since it can get bitter. I loved the whipped green tea frosting, and almost wished there was the same on my red velvet… I had expected it, given the name of the shop n all. Also it would be nice to see someone do a whipped frosting on red velvet instead of the usual… But I guess they went the traditional cream cheese route and it was still our favorite! PS. The shop is so adorable, and their decorations are great and even their to-go boxes are so cute.

I stopped in with a couple girlfriends after a 5k walk(I know…). It was my first visit to the storefront, but I knew I was in for a treat after a sampling at the Unilocal Holiday Party. After knowing how amazing the double chocolate is though being tempted to try something new, I ordered a Lemon cupcake. My friends ordered a Peanut Butter and a Black & White. I have to say that, though it was good, I was amazingly impressed with the Lemon cupcake. I wanted a stronger lemon taste for sure, but maybe that’s just me… I did have a taste of both my friends’ cupcakes, and they were awesome — the peanut butter was OMG good. This leads me to believe that chocolate is Whipt’s strong point, and you should just stick with those. Only more tastes will tell, and I’m happy to oblige.

I am lucky enough to work with a colleague who happens to be a direct descendant of the owners of this fine establishment. So, on a sunny Thursday morning, I was surprised with an email saying: Come get a cupcake. You don’t have to tell me twice. When she opened the box, my eyes lit up at the array of colors and flavors to choose from: coconut cream, peanut butter cup, white chocolate, red velvet — and many more! I opted to go with the chocolate and banana, and I was not disappointed. My cupcake was moist and chocolaty, and the butter cream literally melts in your mouth. It was covered in chocolate shavings and the banana flavor in the icing was very robust. Nothing like cupcakes for breakfast! I have seen some pictures of some of the other work that Whipt Cream does, and they look like cakes that could be on cake wars on the food network. Anything and everything imaginable can be made into a cake! I can’t really comment on the ambiance of the restaurant, since I have never actually been there :) But the cupcakes definitely worth a visit.

Somehow I lost my review of this place when I stopped by last summer on my cross country road trip. I’m surprised that there hasn’t been a FTR since then! Anyways, I got my standard order, a chocolate cupcake and a red velvet. The gal working in the store was really friendly and there was plenty of parking. The cupcakes were both moist and had a decent flavor. Not outstanding on the first visit but if I lived in the area I’d definitely give them a second try.
