This place is the absolute best jewelry store in the Washington DC area. I was recently shopping for an engagement ring and it got off to a rough start when I visited Mervis and the Jewelry Exchange. Those places felt more like a sales pitch not a place that made me feel comfortable. After feeling discouraged I decided to come to Boone & Sons and man am I happy I did. I met with Nellie and she was out of this world helpful. I learned more about diamonds after 10 minutes with her then I ever could of imagined. I was worried that Boone & Sons would be to expensive for me so I did not get my hopes up. After getting the final prices I was very pleased to learn that my ring would be much less expensive than the other jewelry stores and I even got a slight upgrade in the 4 C’s. If you are looking for an engagement ring or any sorts of jewelry I recommend to you head to Boone & Sons and ask for Nellie!

Fantastic service and quality. My family has been going to Boone and sons for over 30 years. We have always had a great experience and received more than favorable offers for trade ins. Daryl Boone offered me over 1k more than several other local appraisers for a recent diamond sale. These reviews on here make no sense. Nice family, great location and local history to support.
I offered to help my 82 year old mother-in-law sell her diamond engagement ring. Darryl Boone quoted $ 5,000 for the ring. He called it an «oldie but goodie,» but then proceeded to tell me what all was wrong with it. Yet he was very eager to buy it. I left with the check, but my gut told me something did not add up, based on the appraisals and his demeanor. I returned 3 days later and asked for the ring back. He guaranteed me I would not get a better offer but did return the ring. Today I sold the ring to Circa Jewels in Bethesda for $ 8,200. I am so grateful for the honesty and professionalism of Lee Siegel at Circa. I will definitely not waste my time with Boone in the future. To quote my NC mother-in-law, we almost got«city slicked.»

Had an extraordinary experience here. A few months ago, the downtown DC Boone & Sons store had resized a ring that I had inherited from my mother. About six weeks after that, a tiny diamond fell out of the setting and was lost. So I went to the Chevy Chase store to have it replaced. I picked up the ring today and was told the repair/replacement would cost … nothing! They told that was because they had so recently worked on the ring at their downtown location. I hadn’t blamed their work for the loss of the stone, but very much appreciate Boone & Sons’ dedication to making sure I was a satisfied customer.

Atrocious customer service. Terrible in every way. Dropped watch off for repair. Informed that it would take 10 business days for an estimate. Three weeks later no call from Boone. I continued to follow up and asked for a status update with no luck. Was told it takes time. Six weeks later I pressed on the telephone and of course discovered the watch was misplaced and that it would be rushed for repair. Then TWO representatives left voicemail messages with different quotes for repair… greater than $ 100 in disparity! Two weeks later no word. I called and was told it was ready. How come they never called me??? Total repair was approx. $ 400. Total time for repair…9 weeks!!! I would have expected BETTER customer service. Make sure to inform your friends and family that this is NOT the place to shop. Customer service is awful in every way.

Customer Service review. Went in today for sizing one some bracelets apparently that was too menial for the employees that were there. They were completely not helpful and rude. Have had pieces fixed here and the last time one of these same employees was rude then also. A may I help you or a smile or something to acknowledge a customer is nice. They lost a fairly large sale today and a customer is now gone,

Picked up my watch today(2÷23÷13). Good as new. I need to thank Peter Boone for helping out and keeping his word on rectifying the issue as quickly as possible. Didn’t charge for the service, battery and reseal — I’m very grateful for that. I’d like to revise and give ‘em 5 stars(instead of 3, up from 1), but my initial experience was just needless and off-putting. It reminded me of dealing with a prickly car mechanic or a plumber– not a professional jeweler. I hope Mr. Boone can train his staff to be more responsive and helpful with customers in the future. Customer service goes a long way these days, especially in this town. Treat a customer well from the start and you’re likely to keep ‘em coming back for life — especially when it’s a big purchase like jewelry. I will likely come back to Boone & Sons in the future — and you should too. Just ask for Peter Boone.

I just recently was able to find the perfect ruby ring from Boone and Sons. I looked at 11 stores and never could find a ring of the quality I was looking for. But finally I found it at Boone and Sons. Neil was a joy to work with. This ring was a present for a milestone birthday and I am so happy to have found after so much searching. It is nice to have a local family store that has extremely quality pieces that are well priced and great staff to help you.

Boone and Sons has excellent service and excellent prices, especially given the high-end quality of their jewelry. I’ve used them for my wife’s engagement setting, wedding band, and one-year anniversary band; all Martin Flyer rings. Pete Boone has been so helpful the last two years with each of these items. On different occasions he has sent the jewelry overnight across the country, free of charge. Pete regularly interacts on the phone and email and has a customer-first attitude. After our honeymoon, we noticed some of the pave diamonds had fell out of the wedding band; Pete replaced them free of charge. As for prices, I’ve done a fair amount of comparison shopping for identical items and Boone has been cheaper.
