Hidden Gem. I just got the lentil soup, just? It was not your usual, it was made with red lentils and wonderfully spiced. Not only that but the woman who runs the place is a sweetheart, earth mother. Lots of deli options, and calm place to sit indoors or out. Why isn’t this place full?

This place is excellent. Classic deli sandwiches and some basic tex-mex options. The service is fast and friendly. Price is right. It is also a mini grocery.

Monday for lunch time Elizabeth Deli has Ethiopian food special, enjera, chicken, greens, beans. I came back to eat the Ethiopian dish several times later; this was the first time having Ethiopian food. You can always ask the waiter for more enjera after you finish with the first plate of soft, sour, spongy dough that you go through. The cold, sour, spongy dough is something you have to get used to but combining it with chicken and beans was delicious. I’m impressed with my first experience. The cashiers at the front are friendly and helpful because I didn’t know what I was eating and how I was suppose to eat it. In later visits i brought friends with me who said they enjoyed their enjeria experience as well. In addition to the dishes offered here, Elizabeth’s Deli also offers a wide variety of wines and deli sandwiches. The wine selection and prices are reasonable; a definite stop before visiting a friend in the area.

Half deli, half convenience mart. Friendly service but the food was disappointing. Two steak tacos with some shredded cheese sprinkled into small, plush flour tortillas before wrapping, average meat quality with light seasoning. Basic rice, kidney beans, salad mix with diced tomatoes, dollop of sour cream and optional canned jalapenos. Simple drink options, props for having canned coconut juice. Some table and counter seating, and a few benches nearby outside.

Pretty good for a deli. The Mexican food is a nice touch. It’s reheated, but it’s good.

One of two deli’s next to our office building surrounded by condo’s in chevy chase. In the bottom of the Elizabeth, this moderately priced deli is known more for their mexican dishes. People also rave about their vegetable soup. It’s a must stop when walking to other places isn’t an option.

Looooonnnnggggg wait. I wouldn’t call the service slow, but there are a lot of people and since the food is made to order, it takes longer than I would like. Approx. half an hour for my chicken enchiladas with about 5 people in line in front of me. The food is fresh and reasonably priced — $ 7 got me lunch for 2 days since the portions are so large. They have salads, Mexican food, soups, daily specials, etc. Everything you could want a deli and very convenient as it is 2 minutes from where I intern!

I’ve slowly regressed from coming here too often, as I have tried just about everything I’ve wanted to try. The staples include steak and cheese, grilled chicken and cheese with or without bacon, italian, chicken salad, and tuna salad.
