Starbucks

There is an ignorant and impertinent woman on staff who should be fired or re-​educated at once. I had asked for a coffee drink to be made with coconut or soy because I am lactose intolerant. She told me that it was impossible to make without real milk, so I ordered tea the first time.
After confirming at another coffee shop it is indeed possible (and delicious) to make with a milk substitute, I ordered it again at this Starbucks. This time, she made me my drink without protest so I drank it. (Honestly, I had forgotten about the aforementioned incident and only remembered after getting sick.)
Not 15 minutes later, I was sick in the bathroom and I continued to be sick for the next 3 hours. I cannot begin to express my disappointment with this lack of respect for customers’ health.
I called to inform them that I knew that they used regular milk for my coffee drink. She confirmed she had used regular milk WITHOUT INFORMING ME. I told her lactose intolerance is a real thing and that she had made someone very sick. She seemed skeptical and unapologetic. I am deeply offended and will not be patronizing this location again.

I just stopped in and decided to finally give the Flat White a go. After taking a sip of my to-​go drink, I thought that the coffee was lacking on the personality… as a matter of fact, it fell a bit… flat. Afraid that I was judging my cup-​of-​joe too harshly, I scoured the internet on prior reviews for the Flat White. Of note, I found reviews touting that the drink is «sweeter and has a more intense coffee flavor» with one reviewer noting that it was too strong for her, she, preferring sweeter drinks. To be more specific, I don’t ‘taste’ the coffee per se, but feel like I’m drinking a creamy milk-​based drink. My disappointment is mainly due to me liking my coffee to taste just as that – like coffee. Other than that, the barista was friendly and served my drink expeditiously.

I’m not much of a Starbucks fan. Don’t really like their coffee, and I think they are way, way overpriced. But I stopped by this one today because I was in the mood for a frappuccino (about the ONLY thing they have that I like) and I had two bucks left on a gift card someone had given me.
The location was okay and plenty of parking. But the staff? Geez, talk about an unfriendly bunch.
Three of them working and they seemed more interested in gossiping about their coworkers than in serving customers. They don’t acknowledge you with a «hello» or «what can I get you?» They pretty much just stare at you and wait for you to say something. No smile (fake or otherwise). Even when my drink was done, the woman just placed it on the counter and walked away.
It’s the closest thing to being served by robots, except I would expect robots to be programmed with some fake small talk/​patter.
My drink: it was okay, but I asked for a shot of espresso. Didn’t get it. Then again, they didn’t charge me for it, so…
I’ll give it two stars ’cause the drink was okay.
And while I’m on the subject: What’s with the seating? Hard wooden chairs and tables. Like the kind of stuff Catholic school kids had to sit on back during the early part of the 20^th Century. Hey, Starbucks? Check out the seating Panera has and maybe invest in a slight upgrade.

This is the Starbucks that sits across the street from the Woman’s Co Op. It is on the South Corner of Wisconsin and Bethesda Ave.
There is ample seating, friendly service, and the product selection is larger than most of the stores in the area.
It always seems so warmly lit. A friendly Starbucks. The only issue is parking… as there is none. There is a parking lot across the street behind the Womans coop… ok… so there is parking — but it’s metered. And… I just remembered it was there. Ok, so there is parking.
On the Starbucks scale of 1 – 13.4. I’d give it a 12.0.
It’s not usually super crazy like the one on Norfolk and Woodmont. There is usually open tables and there is a bunch of restaurants and what not within walking distance. Closest Starbucks to this location is the one in Barnes and Nobles in the middle of Bethesda Row.

It is a remote spot, so the place is often busy and the seats and tables are taken, so you have to eek out a spot if you want to meet with someone.
The fare is Starbucks, so it is the same as anywhere.

We went there ten days ago (I love the seasonal pumpkin latte) — and we also got a piece of pumpkin loaf cake & a piece of iced lemon pound cake, both of which tasted great.
The reason I’m downgrading my rating is because the woman who took our order was unfriendly, and the (apparent) supervisor was equally unfriendly. If the barista hadn’t been such a friendly guy (he also had a beautiful smile), I would have downgraded my rating to three stars — but the barista compensated somewhat for his unfriendly colleagues.

The service was fast, but the barista made a comment that I did not like and that’s the reason for my one star. I like Starbucks and never had a problem, but I will never go this location again.

I’m thinking of all the Starbucks I’ve been to in the DC area, this one is one of favorites. The staff is friendly, the frappacinios and other drinks are made well, and there is plenty of space to work. When I was working in Montgomery Co, I occasionally came here.

I love the layout of this store with ample room within to walk and find seating, but really, on a sunny day, the plentiful outdoor seating is my favorite choice for sipping away! The staff here are efficient and always get my drink correct, most of the time with a smile. I am usually very surprised at this location at how fast they make my beverage. Top notch for a chain Starbucks store.

This Starbucks is great! The wait staff is extremely friendly! I can’t believe some of the other reviews saying they were treated poorly by the baristas, that’s a bunch of BS. I have been coming to this location for a year multiple times a week and always recognize the wonderful and kind service they provide. Nadine is so sweet and Andre is such a nice guy (I think he is leaving soon, so that sucks) he has been at this location for 9 years Nadine has been here for I think 3 and the other barista (forgot his name, but I know he is from the Ivory Coast) has been here for 6 years. Great location right off of Connecticut ave ½ mile from 495 lots of seating and outdoor seating as well.

I’m not sure about the «awesome «staff maybe the turn over is high but each time I’ve been to this Starbucks I have received poor customer service…

This is one of the best Starbucks locations I’ve been to in my many many years of loyalty to the coffee chain. For these chain restaurants/​shops, what makes a difference is the staff. Not all of the baristas will greet you with a smile or any indication of you being welcomed here. However, there are a few that make this place a winner for me.
I was here on a busy Friday afternoon, where it looked like everyone who didn’t want to be stuck in traffic swarmed in here. The line was super long. Being in desperate need for caffeine fix, I stayed my ground and waited in line. The barista churned out cup after cup of coffee, always with a smile and an energetic spirit of enthusiasm. Having waited table myself, I know it’s hard to keep a smile when customers keep coming in and you don’t get a moment to breathe. But that barista managed to make me feel like even though he was really swamped, he still made time to make eye contact, again with a smile, and make sure your experience here is the best possible.
When he got some breathing room, he even chatted up with any customer. That personal touch made this place much more than the same old extension of the Starbucks enterprise. It’s a neighborhood spot that I’ll be coming back often.

Regular old Starbucks. Gets busy but I always find a place to sit and plug in. Lots of outdoor seating too. Wifi is fast. Service is fast. Staff aren’t always jubilant but they’re super chill so it’s fine.

Interesting. Tripped onto this quaint little coffee shop this morning on my way home from picking up a sizable amount of FREE parrot feed from a fellow avian enthusiast I had the good fortune of coming across in this week’s Penny Saver. Unfortunately, he was recently bereaved, having lost his beloved Cockatoo «Champagne» by leaving his cage on the porch during an unexpected cold snap. (We all remember last Wednesday.) I was saddened by his rather long recanting of Champagne’s vocabulary, which implausibly included the Pledge of Alliegience, and was feeling rather run down by life’s strange balancing act when I spotted what I thought at first was a fish market. Well let me tell you, this Starbucks fellow crosses his «t“s & dots his «i“s where coffee is concerned! First of all, coffee is THEIR SPECIALTY. It’s practically all the shop sells! I mean, I’ve heard of coffee shops, but usually you can order a hash brown & a side of eggs, but NOT HERE, so be warned! They do offer some teas & an assortment of mugs and such that were too rich for my blood. $ 11 for a mug?! I could get a new dinnerware set for that at Marshall’s. (In the clearance section, of course.) Anyhoo, the owner, Mr. Starbucks — which I believe is a French name — is quite the purist, having given all the drinks their own whimsical names, many of them in European. That causes some delays, I can tell you, and I can only hope the dozen people in line behind me were paying attention as it took the young man behind the counter a solid 40 minutes to translate the list of menu options. In fact, by the time the young man was done (who by the way had an earring in his lip, which was the one unhygienic thing I noticed in an otherwise SPOTLESS café) I had in fact lost all interest in coffee, overwhelmed by the odors & frankly, I felt a headache coming on from the constraint GRINDING noise! You’d think they could complete that before opening. So although I waved the coffee itself, I did purchase a lovely cuttlebone-​shaped cookie adorably called a «Biscuity» for my finches, Ferdinand & Mr. F. Bird, which they loved. All in all, the place had a certain charm and seemed to be drumming up a solid local business. I would not be surprised if one day we saw another «Starbucks» or two pop up.

This location is pretty damn big for a Starbucks. There’s lots of outdoor seating as well as indoor seating, including a large communal table. Definitely one of the better Starbucks I’ve been to. Parking might be difficult at peak times though, but at least it’s free!

Overall, Starbucks is not my favorite. But you know what you’re going to get when you visit a Starbucks. The quality is always the same no matter what the location. There is definitely something to be said for that. Everyone recognizes the branding and they are popular for a reason.
This Starbucks is excellent though because they have an incredible outdoor seating area. When the weather is nice, this is definitely the place where you want to hang out with your laptop (free WiFi!), sip some coffee, and get some work done.
It’s also very close to the 495 exit for Connecticut Ave, so it’s easy to meet up with people here.

WE REALLY MISS THIS STARBUCKS!!! We both had traveled enough to know that the best Starbucks location in the world was a few blocks from our house, but now that we live in another state Jackie and I miss this location like crazy. The lattes, hot chocolates and whatever else you want are ALWAYS perfect. The staff is friendly and give the impression that they love what they do. We came through town last week and couldn’t wait to get our Starbucks fix. It was as great as we remembered.

Cabin Fever! That’s what you get when it snows 25″ in your neighborhood!
My neighbor needed an espresso and I had nothing better to do than watch The View, so I decided to keep her company (and check out how bad the roads really were). This location is really a neighborhood hot spot. It was busy (every table taken), but there was no wait for our beverages. The barista was friendly and quick — he had a great attitude for such a blustery day it was.
They have WiFi, but I think it is only free for two hours if you have a registered Starbucks card. No problem for me. As a teacher it’s the number one card I get from parents of students, so I have about five totaling $ 75.00.
Many people don’t like their coffee, but their specialty drinks, you know, the high calorie ones, are great. Their hot chocolate with whipped cream is perfect on a cold day.
Perhaps my favorite thing about this location is that I can walk my dog here in the nicer weather and hang out on the patio with all the other canine toting coffee connoisseurs.

By far, this is the superior Starbucks location in the DC metro area.

The staff here is awesome!
Also, just two doors down, the magnificent Manoli Canoli has great lunch and dinner ready in a flash.
