The 1040! I have been here on several occasions with co-​workers after work. It’s really not jumping until Friday night. Mon.-Thursday are really empty. Well, there are at least 8 – 10 slutty dressed barmaids. If they can be called barmaids. They’re usually scantily dressed, or sluttily dressed. You’d have to go here to make your own opinion. These women are usually illegal aliens, or high school dropouts. I have gathered this information from speaking with them on my visits to this place. at first it was a nice place to go to to get cheap drinks, and really it did get pretty fun on Friday nights after work. music, dancing, drinks, laughing patrons, fun times with co-​workers. THEN everything changed. Where there are scantily clad women at bars eventually gangmembers will come. No pun intended. This is exactly what happened to this place. My coworkers and I started to notice this. Soon the entire bar was filled with gangbangers. So, we stopped going. Then the prices of the drinks went WAY UP! Also, the bar-ho’s who work there would serve you a drink and serve themselves a drink, or drinks, that the patron didn’t invite them. But these bar-ho’s would charge you for them just the same. If you didn’t pay, they would call security and there would be problems. This showed how low class the 1040 really began to be. The place is located in the Pilsen neighborhood so there isn’t really a shortage of gangmembers. Plus there is a crappy corner bar on the opposite street corner that is also a gangbanger bar. They would eventually make their way across the street. Sure they get patted down at the door but still, the security doesn’t really do a whole lot anyway. I finally stopped going here when one night while leaving with my co-​workers, some gangmembers came out of the place and one of them threw his full beer bottle at a passing car for no reason whatsoever. I don’t reccomend going here at all. I would also ask if you read this to spread the word to everyone you know to also not to go here. There is no bar sign outside, there is no control.
