I preordered in March 2021. Other companies were having issues getting the item, so I gave them some slack. On July 6th, another company that I usually deal with informed me they received it and sent out their preorders. I contacted Mini Max [called 123DJ.com on the web page] to get an update. I was told it wasn't in yet, but they should get it soon. Week ending July 16, I called and asked for a refund. I was told it was coming in by the end of the week, so i continued to wait. Week starting July 19, I was told it would be in by Friday the 23rd and would shipped by Tuesday the 27th. I called on the 27th and was finally given tracking numbers. It is now July 30 and according to FEDEX, all they did was create the shipping labels, but have not sent out the product yet. I will be calling them again when business opens, but considering the runaround I've gone through, I am not expecting any satisfaction. DO NOT patronize these people.

I have spent more or less than 3 thousand in the last year in this store, and I massively regret it. A number of times I have been sold used defective gear that was labelled as new on my receipts. I even found initials scratched in the bottom of my MPK25 and APC40. For all I know they were used when that guy or gal bought them too. I have returned bad DMX lighting controllers only to be sold another bad one. I mean defective when I say bad. Half the features were messed up as if it had been fried out. Never again will I shop here, it is a disgrace to the world of DJ’s. Stick to Guitar Center for real.

Feel comfortable buying here! We are bunch of rookie suburbanites, but I sent my wife there to buy a karokee machine for my kids. Brought it home and had some tech questions which they answered quickly.
We also bought a wireless microphone set to add 2 additional microphones to the one it came with, but we were having some static issues so she brought it back and explained that it didnt seem to be working right.
Long story short, they fixed the problems, made some suggestions that made the machine better and were unbeleivablly nice adn helpful. Bottom line, stood by their product.
Businesses like this are what make this Country great. F amazon and online. Buy here and get good service and support from great people pumping out great service.
I hope to buy more stuff here to support people like this.

It has been another month and they still have not picked up my items! DO NOT GET STUCK WITH THIS BUSINESS.

Absolutely horrendous experience dealing with them. I placed an order from California, and after I placed my order (which was expected to arrive within 3 – 5 days of placing my order) i was notified I would receive a tracking number shortly. Fast forward two weeks and one frustrated phone call later, I learned that they didn’t even have the item I ordered in stock. They justified this by saying that noone else had it in stock so taking my business elsewhere would be a waste of time.
Since I missed a DJ gig because of this, I called back expecting to hear that my item had arrived and was ready to ship. Nope. I then cancelled my order, and was told I would have my money back within 48 – 72 hours. I don’t have my money yet. I called again, only to have an angry employee yell back at me that they only «process refunds on certain days» which basically meant my refund request was ignored. My refund was issued 3 days after I placed it, and I have no confirmation from my bank or Visa confirming this. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere, as 123dj lacks professionalism, transparency, and customer service.

I totally agree about not being acknowledged when i arrived. Several latino workers around but no one said hi, or even looked at me and I’M MEXICAN!!!
I didn’t mind climbing the stairs because i was thinking it would be worth it, i expected from the looks of the outside, a huge warehouse full of awesome gear to look at. Instead the place was tiny, dark and dingy.
They did have what i was looking for, an Odyssey Black Label case for my Mixdeck and they actually gave me a great deal on it. Then i had to carry this huge, 50 lb, case downstairs and i didn’t like those stairs anymore.
I suggest if you go, you need to be assertive and not wait for someone, and speak up or else you might be waiting for a while. I believe some of the staff doesn’t speak english hence why some may be ignored.
I was ecstatic that i had found a place in the city that has dj gear in stock as i don’t really like to buy online unless i can touch it, play with it before i make a buying decision. I live in the northwest burbs and the Guitar Centers, Sam Ash stores suck at having any kind of selection of dj gear.
Be careful when you buy though as they have a huge sign by the register, 20% re-​stocking fee, NO cash back only store credit!
Also they are open to negotiation on price, as you can always bring up that it’s cheaper online and other places offer free shipping and no sales tax.
All in all, bottom line, the place is cramped and ugly, staff not very knowledgeable except for the one guy, but i got a great deal on my case which i did buy.

I walked into the store in Chicago when I was looking for a turntable for my husband and had no idea where to even start. Russell is excellent. He patiently walked me through all the different options and didn’t push me toward the most expensive items, but really what made the most sense for my needs. Their customer service was great and they were willing to work with me to make sure I got the best products. I highly recommend them.

Good place. I went in not knowing exactly what I wanted, but knew I wanted to use software. Got my questions answered and learned how to use the equipment right in store. I’d go there again for sure.

Terrible place. Just read all the reviews. I made the mistake and didn’t. Prices may be low, but what you ordered probably isn’t in stock and they will neglect to let you know. On top of that take their sweet time refunding the money.

Against the bad reviews I read online, I decided to order a complete DJ system for $ 999.99. I was worried, but I know that my friend would never recommend a dishonest site for the amount that I will be spending. I made the order last week and today, I received the compete DJ system. It is what the site had advertised, BRAND NEW WITH THE BEST QUALITY. I had a technician to check all the items and he was so SHOCKED to learn that the whole system cost me only $ 999.99. If I purchase this DJ system anywhere else or online it would have cost me at least $ 1500.00 plus.

Sorry They got no love!!! I went there on a sat afternoon hoping to buy a new Rane Mixer to go with my Serato System. I myself work in customer service in a MUCH busier environment and I know it doesn’t take a lot to say «hello.» First of all got there and it was on the fourth floor with now working elevator in sight. I thought to myself «OK, I guess it is a warehouse» So I climbed the stairs only to find a locked door which i had to ring a door bell to be buzzed in. (have a lot of trouble there?) So when I walk in the first thing i notice is a guy on the phone who doesn’t look at me, acknowledge or nod. I again gave the benefit of the doubt and assumed he was quite busy although just from over hearing him talk didn’t sound much like business talked. So I walked around and ended up in this room full of speakers with a smog machine (s) on. It was dark, with fog and i couldn’t see a thing. I hope this was not a selling point. It made want to buy a flashlight. So I walked around, looked at some mixers still no interaction with the workers there. Some walked past me carrying boxes and made themselves unavailable. So I just hung out by the mixers behind the counter. took out my blackberry and looked at the mixer I wanted to buy. No help. I took another lap around the store two guys walked in and the workers stopped and started speaking them in Spanish. I’m assuming they knew them. which still is no excuse for bad customer service. So lastly I went back to the counter and began to count the money in my pocket, took another lap around the store and no one said ANYTHING to me! So I had enough and took my business and cash with me. So congrats 123dj. you just missed out on a potential 800 dollar sale because you don’t know how to say «hello.» No Biz, money or return visits for you!

UPDATE
My boyfriend and I own a local business here in Chicago. We were in need of speakers and stands and shopped around for a while on where to get exactly what we needed. We stumbled upon
and found they had great prices, the salespeople we talked to on the phone seemed knowledgeable and we went in to purchase speakers.
The speakers work great. We haven’t had any problems with them. BUT when we went to use the stands we found the speakers don’t fit on them. I contacted the owner of the company and it turns out they don’t make stands to fit the speakers we bought.
The manager of 123DJ was able to come up with a solution and fix the problem we were having.
We will definitely be back in the future!
