A lot of people have some bad things to say about this club. It’s been around for awhile. Awhile for a reason. It’s a successful business. Yes if you don’t act right at the door you won’t get in. If you don’t know someone who works there or have a table then you may have to pay to get in. So rather than talking crap on Unilocal about it … Maybe introduce yourself to the staff. I come here because they have a great staff. My friend Andres Tinajero also shows me great hospitality when I visit the Venue. If booking a table I recommend going through him. He’s very polite & a good host. They have 2 floors with different types of music on each. Bottle service is very reasonably priced. Actually better priced than the main clubs downtown. So you’ll get a better deal by going here. Moral of this story just like all clubs … If you don’t know someone there. You may issues. So meet someone who works there. That’s the best advice I could give.

No improvement! Horrible experience and poor customer service. First of all, they don’t let your whole party in whether your on a VIP list or have a text for«free entrance before midnight». Then, after spending 400.00 on bottle service they take the table back once your out of liquor. Unless you buy another bottle. After spending that much you would hope that they let you stay at the table for the rest of the night. Believe me… your not missing out on anything from 8fifty8!

Came here for a friend’s birthday. She booked a table, so we got there pretty early. Overall, music was ok drinks were ok. Not my preferred location. I honestly liked the smaller room they have on the lower floor!

So we went here for New years and what a lousy experience. I have always had a blast for new years but this place made it hard to enjoy! The ad for new years was a joke martinis were not included even though they said it on the NYE package we paid 80 dollars for! Sex on the beach drink was also not included according to the rude bartender upstairs, she wanted to charge us 48 dollars for 4 drink is she stupid? She called it a specialty drink I’m sorry we paid 80 a person to be there and all sorts of drinks were off limits! nothing complicated about sex on the beach at be she just doesn’t know how to make one smh! Joke never been to a place like this. The dj on the first floor was also a jerk they advertise all this variety music and that is also a lie!!! Same crap over and over and similar to what they play on the second floor I asked for Latin music and he gave me a dirty look and rolled his eyes and yelled NO! Worst experience for new years! Never ever again. Bathroom attendant was rude as he’ll she told me I have a tip jar u can tip u know… rude!!! My husband had all the money I’m sorry but she didn’t have to be so dam rude. I don’t need her pumping soap in my hand and giving me a towel I can do that myself! Just a bad experience for all the money we spent I’m so fustrated at the lousy experience we had we spent 360 dollars for the 4 of us and we had more fun at patrons on a regular night… Smh lesson learned and I will never come here again I don’t need to be treated rudely when I’m the paying customer. And don’t LIEONLINEANDPROMOTESOMETHINGYOUCAN’T FULFILL!!!

So this is pretty much a mixed review. My sister decided to have her birthday celebrations here over the Halloween weekend. She booked a table a few weeks in advanced with the manager Gabriel. Everything was set, she got an email the day of to confirm the table and it looked like everything was good to go. They advised us to get there from 9 – 11 for a free entry. We got there around 9:30ish and we got in with no problem. We let them know we had reserved a table only to tell us that we had to wait till 11 pm because our table was downstairs and they don’t open that section till that time. Okay no biggie, we’ll wait till then. So we all pretty much just huddled around the bar area, grabbed some drinks and waited. Here comes 11 and we advise them again that we had reserved a table. So they bring us downstairs and they lead us to the VIP tables only to sit us at the very end corner of the table. We had a group of 9, how were 9 people supposed to sit in a very small corner table? We literally were taking over the empty table next to us. So here comes this guy with a clipboard and a headpiece telling us that we all had to move because there was going to be another party next to us. I advised him we booked a table for 9 how are we all going to be huddled in one corner. He advised me they only ask us how many people per table because that’s how many they are going to let in for free but none of there tables fit 9 people. Okay so if that wasn’t enough they then told us that they would eventually have to move us from the table they originally gave us because the party next to them would have more people expected. Okay by that time I’m pretty pissed. They had us move to another table right across the room ONLY to tell us that AGAIN. We would have to be moved eventually. My sister was asking them why would you move us around if we paid for a table just like everyone else? Why do we have to sit at the table for only a limited amount of time. After they finally got themselves organized we got moved to ANOTHER table, one that we wouldn’t have to be moved from for the rest of night. All the while, the server for the night was explaining to us that the manager ALWAYS books reservations for big parties when they don’t even have tables for that size and it makes they’re jobs harder. She advised us that he would be showing up later on and that she would tell him to come talk to us. So when we finally settled in, we got our bottles and TRIED to enjoy the rest of the night. Mind you, some of our party still had to stand around the table since our spot was still very small. The only good thing about this club was the music. They had a good variety of music on all the floors. This was our first time going there and it just so happened to be on Halloween day so yes it was pretty packed. I’m not sure how it gets on any other days. So the night was coming to an end, my sister asked our server if the manager ever got there and she told us that he never showed up. Very professional. So all in all, come here to dance and for the music but I don’t advise you to book a table for them because they are very disorganized especially for big parties. Kudos, to our server who seemed to be the only person that cared about our situation and giving my sister a free shot at the end of the night:)

We decided to give this place a try after seeing an event listed on . It clearly said entry was free until 11pm. Upon arriving they said a text was required to enter. After very calmly and kindly explaining that it didn’t say a text or RSVP was required anywhere on their ad, all they offered was a careless and all too comfortable«I’m sorry» while turning their back. It leaves the impression that they do this often. I’m not sure if maybe they do this just to get you there after what might’ve been a long drive, forcing you to uncomfortably decide between paying a cover if you even can or having wasted gas, time, energy and money as you figure out whether to go home or find another place.

Went here last night for a friend’s birthday. Had a reservation that included bottle service, and expected to have a great time since, you know, friend’s birthday + a reservation + another person in our party having arranged all the details in advance. Did we get a bottle? Yes. Were we offered literally anything else? No. Our server, Chan, asked for a credit card to start a tab for the bottle service. This is normal. She then ran the card and presented the birthday girl/credit card owner with a check immediately after presenting the bottle. This is not normal AND really bad business. It’s mostly insulting. Our ice and mixers were refreshed throughout the night by bussers, but we never saw Chan or our host again. No drinks were poured for us beyond the first round/bottle presentation, and nothing else was offered.(And, no, it wasn’t a particularly crowded or busy night.) The last insult was another host trying to seat a party of 8 – 10 in the space next to us, which sat 4 – 6 people, instead of on another neighboring and totally empty banquette. One member of our party and the party of 8 – 10 had to intercede with that host and explain the obvious to him — don’t cram us all in here when the club is not hurting for bottle-service space. The club itself is fine, but we all left insulted and disappointed in the service we got on what was supposed to have been a special night.

I’ve been here a few times and i must say it’s a nice club. Dj’s are great and there’s always a good crowd. Ladies must wear heels and of course it’s a 21 and older club so they have a wide variety of liquor at the bar.

Went for NYE with a purchased ticket with an «all you can drink package» starting at 9. Despite the fact that my group of 9 people had tickets in hand, we had to wait outside for 40 minutes while they only let it people who had tables. It was 4 degrees. I almost went home despite the pricey ticket already purchased. Additionally, the«all you can drink» promise translated to 10 drink tickets and 40 minutes taken away from the deal due to the lengthy line. Needless to say I will NOT be coming back and will advise others to do the same…

Came by to check out 8fifty8 on a Friday night when they open, as listed on their website, with a party of six. There was no one at the door but it was wide open, so we went inside upstairs assuming there would be a door person up there. Well, when we got upstairs, some guy yelled at us as though we were bad children. Couldn’t imagine a worse first impression; we just got in a cab and went to a different club. Thanks but no thanks.

They say one price then charge you another, do not come here if you want to leave with all these taxes gratuity left hidden in your bill. They charged me 250 for a bottle then don’t even mention the extra 75dollar tip included? Isn’t that illegal in this state? They will definitely be hearing from my attorney if I don’t get my money back from this scam they are running

Celebrated my friend’s birthday here about a year ago on Sat Not sure the cover since we were a «birth day party». Was a pretty good night. Nothing special but cool none the less. Good spot for hip hop music. Not the most spacious place and can get a bit clustered into the later hours. We were a party of 4 and seemed a lil clogged especially for dancing. Dress code is not too formal but if you want to dress up you won’t be out of place and if you want to dress down the same applies. Was accompanied by my lady but looking around did not notice too many attractive women(incase you fellas were wondering). Drink prices for a night spot are fair(Scotch is no more than 10 dollars). All in all, Not a bad selection if your date or you wants a fitting site for rap music. Probably, would not recommends it for a «guys night out» since, lets be honest, we go where the nice looking ladies go.

This place is a dump! Drinks are overpriced, staff is unprofessional, crowd is so-so… There are much better options in the neighborhood. I feel like it’s an unsophisticated audience they target and it shows.

I was there for NYE. It was so terrible that I decided I would write my very first Unilocal review. With taxes and service fees, my ticket cost about $ 105. You would expect some kind of satisfaction for that price. No, sir! My friends and I arrived at 9:40PM. We waited around an hour outside. It was so cold that night, I saw a polar bear cry! Bouncers were taking bribes to let people cut-off the line. And nothing warms you up more than having to wait longer because some idiot chose money over ethics. Once in, after having lost an ear and two toes in the cold, I thought I could finally enjoy the night which had started in the worst possible way. I thought wrong. 45 more minutes for the coat check. What was infuriating is that they ran out of space in the locker-room exactly when it was my turn. I was so pissed-off, I thought about taking an entirely new direction with my life, maybe move to India, or become a farmer… In addition to that, like other victims of this scam mentioned here, the drinks weren’t unlimited, they weren’t even drinks actually, but rather sodas with a hint of liquor in them; I didn’t see any food(probably because by the time I got out of the coat check line, it was 11:30PM), the photo shoot was over as well, the bartenders despicable and the whole place completely overcrowded. I now hate this place passionately, which might be the only good thing I got out of this. At least I now know that I’m not a robot, that I’m capable of very intense feelings.

A group of us went here for New Years Eve and it was terrible. We bought pre-purchased, $ 85 dollar tickets, arrived at the door(the line that had formed) at 8:45 and didn’t get into the venue until 9:40. Our package included all you can drink from 9 to 2, for the record they weren’t serving drinks outside. When we finally arrived inside where we were given 10 drink tickets and were required to check in our coats for $ 3 a coat. Mind you, that line was another 45 minutes. Around 10:30 we were able to start drinking, socializing, and exploring. What we soon found out was: it took on average, 20 minutes to get a drink(this was based off purely waiting at the bar and doesn’t include traveling to and from), 50% of the customer venue area was blocked off for security, staff, and vip tables, and the entire place was overcrowded. Every where you walked was like trying to get through a crowd. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone.

We went here for New Year’s Eve and was HIGHLY disappointed in the entire event. We ordered our tickets online for $ 85 each and were told the event included unlimited drinking from 9 pm to 2 am(only got 10 tickets to use on drinks — what happened to unlimited), included gourmet appetizers(fried pickles, pizza, and mozzarella sticks are not gourmet), were told we’d get New Years part horns and didn’t get that, and the worst part of the whole thing was standing in line outside in 4 degree weather with no heat lamps for 45 minutes… this is unacceptable! We also were required to do a coat check that cost $ 3 and you couldn’t get your coat until midnight or later(why?). Oh, and apparently it’s acceptable to have sex in their booths — complete #trash #byegirl If I had to pick one good thing, it’d be being able to leave! I will NOT be back and would highly recommend anyone to not go there either! Good day!

Pros: — Great Music — Large seating areas — Large dance floor — mostly very attractive Latinas with poorly groomed men. Where were the hot men that work out and shave on occasion? I’m guessing at another bar, because this place was packed with men that looked like 3’s dancing with women that were perfect 10’s. — Multiple levels — strict dress code keeps most white tee wearing thugs out — sexy décor — heavy security — safe! — appropriately lit(dim — passionate not too dark) — they have costumed club dancers. The women were adorable in their matching pin up girl outfits. The guys looked nice in speedos, muscles and body oil.(bites fist) I’m not even going to tell you what was going through my mind. Yummmmmmy! Heck yeah — two thumbs up for the sexy oiled bodies dancing on the bar! — Cons — Mostly Hispanic club(Lack of diversity is NOT cool) — very attractive Latin women that look like they dance in music videos or model in their spare time. Seriously, not the club for Plain Janes it will ruin your self esteem! Ha — I saw far too many pregnant women that were at least six months or more. Public Announcement: There is no reason to see a woman swaying side to side in a night club pregnant. Sit yo butt down somewhere, seriously! Take your vagina home and sew some baby booties and finish your nursery no one needs to be worried if while dancing they bumped into your fetus by accident. So, the bridal shower is in an actual club they didn’t expect you to show up 7 months pregnant, it’s okay to cancel. Talk about«blocking» all evening, ha ha. — $ 20 cover free. I wouldn’t have paid that, but I was given free admission for a party. — too many short men. I’m 5’1. I wore three inch heels and I was able to glide through the crowd, because I towered over MOST of the men there, but with heels I must have been 5’4 at the max. I’m extremely short and I was taller than most of the men! Ha that’s a first in my life! — the weak drinks are over prices average per drink price is $ 9 — 13. They don’t have drink specials and do not serve wine. — it’s slightly west of the Loop and at night super dark over there and not safe to walk down the street or anything else. Cabs do not frequently stop here so you might be waiting a long time.

Normally I’m the complete opposite of that 50 Cent song. You can rarely find me in the club with a bottle full of bub. Every once in awhile though, I’ll follow a pretty girl behind the red ropes hitting up the type of atmosphere that I usually hate. Rolling in with awful expectations for 8fifty8 I was surprised to have actually had a pretty good time. They played a pretty decent mix of music when I was totally expecting a headache concocted of EDM and dubstep. Bottle service was actually relatively affordable, and the servers were actually nice when I was totally expecting snooty. Yes.it is a club so you can expect the same dress code/wait in line song a dance, but once you get in I don’t think it’s the worst place on earth to be and that’s probably one of the nicest compliments I’ve ever given a club.
