Stopped here for after dinner desert last Sunday evening. What is better then coffee and cupcakes? About a dozen tables. Very comfortable atmosphere. The coffee was good. The cupcakes were great. They had a big selection, so we ordered 4 different types. My favorite was the malted milk ball. It was really yummy. Next was the salted chocolate. Pretty good. Third was the key-lime. Outstanding. Fourth was a triple chocolate. Not bad at all. Cupcakes and coffee… This place slam dunked it. They have a full menu, so I’d like to go back.

I came in after stopping at the stop light intersection and seeing lots of sweets inside the store. So like a true foodie, I found a parking spot and decided to explore what they had to offer. A Taste of Heaven is actually a restaurant(café style) that has a variety of options for sweets. The owner happened to be behind the register and was very sweet. I was craving something creamy and I love whipped cream. When I saw the piece of Chocolate Whipped Cream cake, I knew I couldn’t leave without a piece. He said that it was his best cake so I was sold :) The piece of cake was $ 5.95 and is a good healthy portion that lasted me two days lol. The chocolate layers were not overly sweet — kind of reminded me of German chocolate cake. The whipped cream layers were heavenly and the frosting is nice and sweet for those who like their desserts a little sweeter. I can see why this place has such high ratings and I can’t wait to come back and try more!

I stopped by this place just for desert on the go. I bought a big peanut butter cookie a bit pricey $ 4! But I must say it was really good it lasted a few days. They offer breakfast and lunch as well including baked goods. Overall ok spot for a snack on the go.

One of the best homemade desserts made in the city of Chicago. Their pecan pie is amazing! I’ve also had their Chicken and Biscuits which is real good. My favorite is their Chicken Pot Pie, which they only make it on special occasions. Place is clean and the staff is on point.

One of my favorite places in the neighborhood. Brunch, lunch or coffee with friends it is small and cozy. I typically go in between busy times so it’s not too crowded or loud. Nothing on the menu has been disappointing, but I tend to gravitate towards the quiche of the day or the lemon butter bars!

Our friends took us to this little cozy place by their home. It was small, but we didn’t wait too long for a table for 4 on a Saturday morning. Food was delicious! I ordered the omlette of the day(a play on Philly Cheese Steak) AND French Toast with a side of No Regrets :) Sweet & savory — had to do both! Service was very friendly & the staff was so sweet! There was also an abundance of pastries to choose from as well.

Found this gem under breakfast and brunch spots. It’s a very cozy place that serves delicious foods. I ordered the almond pancakes and it definitely fulfilled all my sweet needs. What I enjoyed most about the pancakes was that it wasn’t overly sweet. I think a lot of places have flavorless pancakes and depend on the syrup to drown out the flavor. However I didn’t even use additional syrup on my pancakes. After ordering the pancakes I did regret not getting something more savory. I drooled with each dish that came out as the servers delivered it to surrounding tables. I already decided I would be back to try their pesto sandwich. There are also a plethora of breads, muffins, and cupcakes one could hope for. They web have a counter where you can order coffee and a muffin to go. I highly recommend taste of heaven. Although the name is a bit corny, it does deliver.

Everything is, was, and always will be the culinary equivalent of having your taste buds pass through them pearly gates. As a customer you are paying for quality and ATOH delivers. All of their desserts seem like a winners at least in the taste department if not caloric. It’s like stepping into a dessert brothel, there’s a little something for everyone. We chose the cream puff because we always choose the cream puff. Wow! I’ll leave it at that. I had this thanksgiving wrap which was as advertised minus mashed potatoes. Solid. The food is top notch but for three folks it’ll be over sixty after tipping. Support local businesses like this one owned by Dan, a swell guy who actually cares about his customers.

While doing some city shopping this weekend, my friends and I were looking for a quick brunch spot and A Taste of Heaven was our first option. With only a 10 minute wait, we decided to stick with it! The place is TINY, that is for sure. There are maybe 15 tables in the whole storefront and tables are packed in. It also didn’t help that the thermostat was showing 84 degrees. During our wait, I asked if they had mimosas which they didn’t but the waiter pointed to a «liquor store» across the street that I would get champagne to bring in. I was able to take a quick trip for some champagne and come back when the table was ready. The wait staff was super friendly but seemed a little disjointed. It took a while to get some OJ but everything seemed pretty smooth after that. The portions are huge, and the prices are pretty reasonable. I ordered Mike’s Pesto Egg Sandwich which was incredible! If I’m in the neighborhood, I would definitely come back from some brunch and mimosas!

This place strikes a difficult balance between being a popular brunch destination and a small community oriented place to get coffee and home style food. Yes, if you come here for brunch at peak brunch time, be prepared to suffer all the inconveniences that come with getting brunch at peak time. This place is casual enough you can eat here alone with a book and sit with coffee afterwards.

What a great breakfast! Great coffee and tea(although way too pricey for such beverages!). I had the Mike’s Pesto Sandwich and it was amazing. Egg, tomato, spinach, bacon and pesto! Yum! The folks with me had the quiche and the omelet of the day. Once again, great portions, generous ingredients and fantastic flavors. We could’ve gone for less of the sides and a lower price, though. Very friendly service! And scrumptious looking baked goods and cupcakes if you’re looking for something on the go!

Plentiful of ridiculously delicious sounding Daily Specials. Price is relative to food portion, ingredients, quality and preparation. FRENCHONIONSOUP($ 3.75) — comes with 3 pcs of housemade bread. Delicioso. Good balance of ingredients. Broth is NOT dark brown. Yay! QUICHE($ 10.75) — a risky custard combination of ham and pineapple. Hawaiian pizza in a pie. Skip it! Soggy crust. Comes with default mixed green salad with vinaigrette. LEMONADE($ 4.75) — expensive with an impressive strong lemon flavor that is not sour. ELVISCUPCAKE — peanut butter icing was a tad sweet with banana cake. A version of Elvis’ favorite food. COFFEE — La Colombe brand. SERVICE — excellent, well-informed, friendly, charming. VENUE — the relax atmosphere of a café. Lots of stuff that is neatly organized. Comfy. Welcoming. 1-star less: — presence of housefly — box your own brown bag

Simply delicious food! The atmosphere is cute and small and diner-like, but with a lot of cupcakes. It’s great for sitting and hanging out, and the owner and servers are really nice, quick, and chill. I tried the roasted pear salad and iced coffee(both recommended from the server). The salad was awesome – big and filling, with crispy roasted chicken, delicious roasted pears, and goat cheese and cherries to keep things interesting. Salad dressing came on the side(which was thoughtful). The iced coffee was big, delicious, and FREE because it was a Wednesday! What a pleasant surprise! The prices seem high($ 12 for the salad) but the quality of food was well worth it. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area!

Dan’s customer service(the owner) was incredible — upon reading my first review, he immediately contacted me to make my experience at Taste of Heaven right. He sympathized with wasting money and calories at a restaurant only to be disappointed and invited me to come back and give Taste another chance with a guest. I appreciated how FAST and KIND he was when responding to my concerns. GREATCUSTOMERSERVICE! I was not disappointed during my return visit! Mike’s pesto sandwich is hands-down one of the best breakfast sandwiches in Chicago. The thick cut, slightly sweet brioche is perfectly toasted and complemented by a mountain of goat cheese, pesto, tomato, bacon, spinach and 2 eggs. It is definitely big enough to be shared(or hoarded for second brunch later in the day)! It comes with a side of fresh fruit and potatoes. I also tried the sparkling lemonade — served in a big mason jar and not too sour or sweet, with the right amount of fizz. Perfect for a warm day! The place gets crowded during the weekend, but they also have a pretty big patio area on the southeast side of the restaurant to accommodate more patrons. It’s nicely shaded and worth checking out!

I had just moved into the neighborhood, and my sister decided to take me to brunch here. The restaurant décor is very eclectic, and gives it a «Grandma’s house» vibe. Not to say this is a bad thing, because it is quite endearing. We both ordered the Mike’s Pesto Sandwich, which will go down in history as one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have had. Our waitress was friendly, but towards the end seemed to be losing steam. Since I am a server, I understand. She didn’t close out our check, but one of her colleagues did instead. Overall a very positive experience here.

Just love it here! Every single thing I’ve ever tried has been delicious, from their coffee to their entrees to their desserts… heaven. The servers are always very friendly and we’ve never had a problem being seated. We like to stop in here for brunch and we always get coffee(me-fancy coffee, him-straight black). I usually order the quiche because it’s so good, but I have gotten their Durbin sandwich before, too. Both were so good. The quiche is my to-go-to though because they are such a pain in the ass to make yourself and they always get the texture right. They are always light and fluffy. My husband usually goes for something a bit more hearty. The last time he got a portobello sandwich which was really good. I never can leave without getting a cupcake, which I have a love/hate relationship with. Love, because they are so good. Hate because then I have to go to the gym later. It’s worth it.

I have been wanting to try out this place for a while now and I finally did. We came on a Sunday around 1:30 and didn’t have a problem getting a seat. The place is pretty small, but has a lot of homemade goods from cupcakes to cakes and bars, etc… My husband got the Steak and Eggs and I tried the Havar Ya Sandwich with a side of soup. The steak and eggs were ok and the potatoes were tasty, nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My sandwich was okay as well. The homemade baguette bread was good and held the sandwich quite well. But it was kinda dry and perhaps could use some sauce to make it tastier. Service was also okay. Overall, this place is okay.
