First time in 2 years i took my hubby to Central Asian and Turkish restaurant. He is from Guatemala. Since i am from Kyrgyzstan i was expecting some food such as Manty or Lagman, cause i cant really make them. Unfortunately they didnt have those, but we got Olive, hummus, Musaka and kyrgyz kebabs(shashlyki). My hubby ordered another 2 hummus cause it was really good with homemade warm pita. Also, my hubby loved his entry and so am i. Everything was great. Service was fantastic. My hubby wants to take his friends there for sure. And i will go there definitely. Thanks to our server, i didnt ask his name unfortunately. He treated us as a part of the family. Portions are big and prices are affordable. You guys should go and check it out!

Great homemade yogurt. Had the eggplant appetizer and Mediterranean salad. Very fresh and tastes like it does back home. Polite staff!

I have been eyeing this place for a while now. I walk by here often, always peering in and wondering where all the people are. On occasion, I will see families and couples dining in, but not often. This past week I decided to dine there. I was the only one in the place, besides the server. The server was quite kind and told me I could sit anywhere. There were a few tables reserved, which I thought was odd since it was already 7:30. The server told me this was due to Ramadan. I wasn’t very hungry, so I ordered the Meze Plate. This consisted of baba ganoush, hummus, chopped red pepper salad and yogurt with celery and seasoning. Everything on the plate was made from scratch and was definitely worth the price. My favorite dip was the yogurt and hummus. The plate was accompanied by pita bread, which was also very tasty. Because my eyes have always been bigger than my stomach, I ordered the Shepard’s salad, which is very similar to a Lebanese or Mediterranean salad — consisting of chopped tomatoes, cucumber, parsley and seasoning. This came out later than my first dish — which I found surprising. However, once I tasted it I realized why. It had been freshly chopped. Honestly, it was pretty amazing. I was very happy that I ordered it and brought it home for the next day. Also, the portion was definitely worth the price. I think people need to give this place a try. Overall, when I’m craving some Turkish, Middle Eastern/East Asian cuisine I will be coming here.

The name change was a bit confusing as we were looking for a middle eastern restaurant and google came with with Sofra Turka, we pull up and the sign says Ala Too, I ask the guy if I am in the right place and he says ” yes, we are now Ala Too, with central asian options. Huh? thats a curious clash of culture and flavour … no matter as long as the food is good it doesn’t matter to me. We live a block away and went for the take-out option. We open the bag at home and a waive of foul stench escapes from the bag, I mean it was bad, worse than any dog food I have given my dog! Hummas — bland, zero flavour Pita — damp and wet from being sealed inside a plactic bag for its voyage down the block. Microwaved pita, stuffed inside a plastic bag. WTF? Falafal — smelled bad, dense, no flavour, likely old oil. Combo plate — what a joke! Menu says: ” thinly slced veal and lamb on a rotisserie” this is their version of shawerma! ??? NO, it was gyros resembling dog leash! Smelly and quite gross! Dumped over a few mangy chicken cubes, and a piece of rubber beef made me sick just looking at it. I would be concerned serving this meat to my dog. No Kefta kabob in the order, I dont think they even know what Kefta is! Mucver — some deep fried patty of dough and veggies, not made to order, and quite spongy from the microwave perhaps? Tahini sauce — wrong! It was watered down yogurt which is OK if you enjoy watered down yogurt! Tahini is in fact tahini, and not yogurt! and tahini sauce is water and salt added to the tahini to make the sauce. Rice — meh, dry. just rice. The weird feel of the place and its ratty carpeting is reinforced by the fact there is a coke machine sitting in the middle of the dining room, LOL. I just cant believe these people are in business! $ 41 bucks later we were absolutly appalled at the low quality of garbage served here. The upside — they gave us a full refund, but only after trying to whack us for a 20% food cost replacement. What kind of BS is that! Zero stars! if it was an option.

If you like ethnic foods and avoid chain restaurants, this is for you. We had the shepherd salad, mucver, babaganush, and manti. All four were wonderful and of generous proportions. I will look forward to trying something new from the menu.

The food here is wonderful and unique. It says Turkish, but it is more central Asian, which I like and is hard to find. The service is pretty slow, though, so come with lots of patience.

Bad service. nothing on the menu was actually available. Way over priced. We payed 11 bucks for 4 pieces of falafel with no rice.
