DONOTWASTEYOURMONEY!!! We drove from downtown Chicago to eat here on 2÷20÷16 because I lived near here off Belmont and Newland when I was younger. When I walked in I stated that I had not been here in years and the reception from the girl behind the counter was not welcoming. I asked her what has changed and asked if she could recommend something. She said everything was good and when I persisted about what new things they had she seemed snotty. Then I asked if the cannolis were homemade considering that there is a Italian bakery right next door and she said she did not know. I ordered a cheef and my wife and her friend both got sausage and mushroom calzones and her friends husband a meatball with fried shrooms. The food came out at different times and when my wife cut into her calzone a watery greasy mess came out. The side of spaghetti I got with the cheef was canned tasting and also watery. My cheef was not only smaller than what Im used to but was obvious they used cheap beef. My friends order of shrooms also came out with the meal instead of before as he had requested. We left very dissatisfied and ripped off and received no thank you from the diva who took our order. NOTETOOWNER: Hire staff that is knowledgeable about menu and not so worried about how her hair and nails look. Don’t cheap out on food

7th new spot 2016!!! I followed a fellow Unilocaler’s review and book marked the place. For weeks I’d been anxiously been eyeing this place, unfortunately, I was not as enthused as other Unilocalers. Anywho, I placed a call in order for a pickup med sausage/xtra sauce well done thin crust. Order took 2omins. We passed the place literally 5xs before we parked. Lmaobvs(GOINGNORTHIT’S ONTHERIGHT). Crust was good. EVERYTHINGELSEWASBAD!!! The sauce! The Sausage! The Cheese. WASNOTGOOD2ME!!! The sauce was too sweet, it tasted like it was poured out of a can. Sausage was soft and mushy. The cheese was just OK. Cheese was rather thick too. I didn’t like it.

Amatos has really stepped up their game recently, and is now becoming one of my favorites! They have so many options on their menu, and it’s difficult to choose something because everything is delicious!

This is our go to pizza delivery. Recently tried the deep dish, wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce. Also, the thin we ordered was like wet and rubbery as if it was sitting there a long time waiting on the deep to finish. 5 stars for thin, 2 for deep.

I absolutely love this place. My gf and I order from there at least twice a week and we got lots of friends, coworkers, and businesses to order from there. Not only is their pizza awesome but their pastas are freaking amazing. We order so much that we get a free pizza every couple of months using the points we earn. I knocked off 1 star due to the chicks working the counter/phone. A couple years ago they had the best staff but now these new chicks make us nervous. Don’t want to get into specifics but mainly orders aren’t taken right and professionalism isn’t up to what it used to be. Yes it’s a pizza & pasta place and working does suck but at least make an effort to care about your job.

Ordered a small 10 inch thin crust pizza and a cup of chicken noodle soup for delivery for the first time. Half pepperoni and half sausage with onion. The pizza took a little over 45 minutes late afternoon(I’m 2 miles away) The soup was very salty. Normally I don’t mind it being salty and usually add even more salt, I’m kind of a salt freak, but this was like WOAH holy salty batman! The pizza was good, not the best I’ve had, but it was above decent. I’m new to the River Grove area, and looked for a pizza place that delivers with the best rating and found this place. The pepperoni was a little spicy, so I think I’ll avoid that next time. The sausage was good, large pieces and didn’t skimp on it. I’ll probably be back sometime.

I am seriously in lust. I found a pizza place open until midnight in the burbs and I liked it! So here’s how it happened. I was sitting on the sofa having an internal struggle.(I was trying to tell myself, there was no reason to leave home at midnight to eat anything, and in particular bread.) I tried to convince myself to have a bowl of cereal instead. So, my flesh gave in and it was totally worth it! Amato’s dough is made fresh daily, all ingredients are fresh and the mozzarella is the best I have ever had. EVER! There’s one catch. The price is in NO way for the penny pinchers of the world. A small thin crust pizza with three toppings is $ 17. I called 20 minutes before closing and was treated as if I was placing an order at 7:30pm. I was not rushed and the guy was actually very casual and told me I could order any menu item. I ordered a small pizza and(as she covers her face) buffalo wings. I ordered the wings because they were .65 cents each. Loved the pizza, but the wings… not so much. Not even for .65 cents. Serves me right because I should have stopped at the pizza, and had I done so, I am certain I would have eaten the entire small thin crust without thinking twice about it. It was that good! Well, I wish I had waited until today to eat pizza, but it is what it is. When I go all in, it only makes sense to go hard with food that is worth the set back. That way, when I ponder why my rump shaker can no longer fit in my favorite pair of jeans, remembering the delicious thin crust pizza that made it all possible will help me to smile despite the crisis at hand.

My family loves the pizza, salads and baked clams. They relocated to a smaller joint. It is pizza with best ingredients and flavor. Recommend to everyone! !

Consistently excellent pizza. Buffalo wings are just OK, but the Amato’s salad is very fresh and very good. A little pricier than other pizza joints in the area, but you always know what to expect.

I was a very frequent customer at this pizza place never had an issue with the food or the service. but with my last visit I was very disappointed. The pizza was cold the cheese was hard and chewy. Customer service is probably the only good thing remaining here. Wrote an email to the manager regarding the poor experience my wife and I had with the pizza but it’s been about 7 months and still no response. This establishment lost a very good customer.

I ordered one cheese and one sausage pizza not too long ago from this place and the pizza was perfect. I don’t care for sweet pizza sauce on my pizza and this sauce was perfect it was just like I like my sauce not too tangy or salty. Amatos uses the right amount of sauce as well not so much that it’s dripping everywhere but just enough to enjoy all the flavors of the pizza. The cheese was the perfect gooeyness as well so I would definitely keep coming back to this place when I’m visiting the north side of Chicago.

My favorite«Chicago Style» Pizza! As they say at Amato’s, «Perfect Every Time!» Fresh ingredients, consistent product, time after time. I also love that Amato’s is open much later than most pizza places — until midnight most days!

This place has been around for nearly 50 years and while it moved many years ago from it’s original location on North Ave just west of Austin, the pizza has remained good and consistent ever since. This was where I got my first«job» — delivering pizza flyers around the area when I was about 12 years old. Got a whole $ 1/hr plus free pizza with my «co-workers» on Saturday pay-days! While I don’t live close enough to frequently order from them anymore, I still pick up from them every so often when at my mom’s place in Oak Park. Slightly cheesier and a little pricier than Jim & Pete’s — which has been the other mainstay pizza place in the area for our family for many years. For me, it’s a flip of the coin as to which is better. Either way, it’s hard to go wrong. Mainly carryout nowadays, non-pizza items were always good too, though it’s been awhile since I’ve had the pleasure of trying them.
