I’m not sure what has taken me so long to write a review for Ashland Addison Florists, since I’ve always been so pleased with my flowers and have never been disappointed. The arrangements are true to what you order on the website. They even email you a photo of the arrangement before it goes out. I love this feature. But to me, the real test is when you order through them for an out-​of-​state delivery. They have high standards for the florists they do business with. I have gotten photos of arrangements from the recipients, and they have always been lovely. Oh, and whenever I have called customer service with a question, I have always been taken care of.

My company uses Ashland Addison for all occasions. Every arrangement they create is beautiful, thoughtful, and appropriate for the occasion. My main contact Zoe and the rest of the staff is professional and courteous. I haven’t had a negative experience with them ever. I recommend Ashland Addison to everyone no matter what your floral needs are.

This review is long overdue! My husband and I used Ashland and Addison for our wedding and it was the best choice! Martha was amazing and so accommodating of all of my constant requests and emails! She was patient and made my floral dreams come true! We had a floral chandelier above us for our ceremony and the most incredible lush center pieces for our reception. We got endless compliments from our guests! They were also reasonably priced compared to so many city florists. Highly recommended!

I set up an initial appointment for a wedding florist consult over 3 weeks prior to the appointment date. I told them my budget on the initial form I filled out for contacting me. 2 days prior to the scheduled appt (we had at least 3 – 4 emails to set up the meeting and no mention of the following), they email me about their sudden «new policy for the venue» being a minimum above my stated budget, not including a 20−25% service/​delivery fee and over 10% sales tax. The lady wondered if they remembered to tell me about this. Really, you didn’t let me know that during scheduling? This is really some «new policy» specific to my venue? I took off work for this appt. Not happy.

Received white rose bouquet as a gift for a new baby. Roses were already starting to wilt on delivery. Seems like these folks are ok with sending out flowers with not too much life left in them.

I was using this florist to order flowers for a friend who was in the hospital. I went on their website and found an incredible amount of options that actually made it difficult to decide because they were all so beautiful. Once I had decided on the best I decided to order via phone call. First of all this was 8:05 am. I truly doubted anyone would answer the phone. I was proven wrong when a delightfully cheery voice answered. (I believe her name was Donna.) She was incredibly helpful, knowledgable and assisted me with my purchase. They offer same day delivery so I expected an atrocious cost for delivery but was surprised by the $ 2.95! Absolutely amazing! I knew my arrangement was going to be gorgeous but I was provided with proof when they sent me an email with a picture. What a great idea! This was such a great example of customer service! This team could seriously train other companies on proper customer service! Just great! Highly recommend!

I worked with Lauren B. at Ashland Addison and was so happy with how our flowers turned out. Our theme was classy, modern, vintage for a winter wedding. Lauren described some of the sample pictures I showed her as «organic» and «avant-​garde.» Our flowers were mostly white with pops of blush, burgundy and greenery.
I actually felt pretty unprepared for our first meeting. I came alone thinking we were just going to discuss a few details then get down and dirty later on. But I was mistaken! We got right to it and basically discussed all the wedding flowers during our first meeting. Despite being relatively unprepared and unknowledgeable about flowers myself, Lauren was really patient and super helpful with describing even showing me examples of «looks» we could do.
I was thrilled with all of our flowers for the wedding, from the table arrangements, to the way they stuck buds in our candle holders, to the bridal and bridal party bouquets.
Even though it was a blizzard in Chicago on our November 2015 wedding day, the flowers showed up on-​time without any drama. I would recommend Ashland Addison to anyone looking for a wedding florist!

Amy and her team at Ashland Addison Florist really delivered on the custom bright autumn, vintage, glam, rustic/​boho, combo-​style I was going for for my wedding florals. Amy, who was lead on my order, is an expert in florals and was very helpful in working with me to identify styles and colors of flowers and plants would work to complete my look that also fit within my tighter than usual budget. At no point did she ever say «that’s not possible». Instead, I felt as if I was creating an overall vision along with her in some sort of seamless way. Every idea that I had [and later, that my mom had too] she was able to come up with tangible suggestions for. In the end, everything was beautiful. She even worked with her team to decorate some tree branches they had to make them look like fall trees. The arbor they did was a stunning backdrop for our ceremony. And the garland they did for the head table along with the florals on our cake that they added the day-​of after the bakery delivered the cake right before the event started, were drop-​dead gorgeous. I really credit Ashland Addison for making my wedding day spectacularly beautiful for us and our guests. Thank you a million times over!

Still enjoying the Sweetest Day arrangement delivered over a week ago. No surprise, we have always dealt with Ashland Addison, as my family has for 50+ years.
Our daughter’s wedding flowers were perfect from here several years ago, and everything was exceptional for our son and daughter in law’s wedding Feb 2015. Since this last wedding was at a hotel, they had everything done by them.
They have our complete confidence.

This was probably the most low-​stress part of our wedding planning. We worked with Ramsey Prince to decorate our wedding at the Adler Planetarium and it couldn’t have gone better.
At our initial consultation we discussed color schemes and centerpiece design thoughts, and Ramsey was able to put together a first draft of what it might look like right then and there in their meeting space. We took a tour through the cooler and picked out things we liked and didn’t like, and they were able to take things from there.
Around four days before the wedding we had a follow-​up meeting at the space and he had the final design placed out. Everything went along with our original vision, from the centerpiece placements to the bridal bouquets to the boutonnieres. Best of all, the flowers were extremely fresh and portable and lasted through two more wedding events on the days following our Friday reception.
Delivery was on time, everything was set up beautifully in advance of the ceremony without any input needed from us, and the whole experience in general put us at ease about how it would go from the jump. Factoring in the fair price, I’m going to be recommending Ashland Addison to my friends going forward and plan to be back for my non-​wedding needs.

Wow! This was by far one of the best and easiest Flower ordering experiences ever!
Parking in their private lot, they take care of you instantly, and it seems like everything is possible! Again: WOW!

We worked with Amy and had a fabulous experience. She was such an expert and so sweet and helpful. My husband and I went in not knowing much about flowers and bouquets and she offered really useful and thoughtful suggestions. When the flowers arrived, I was blown away — so fresh, beautiful and classic. As a bonus, they made great decorations at the reception!

I had to call three times to get the order right. I was disappointed in the bouquet they first put together. I don’t live in town so I found this place on Unilocal.It’s nice they send you a pic first. I did call back again and they changed it to a much nicer one. Would have been nice not to have to work so hard for the order, but it did end up being a nice bouquet.

Loved the service — sent me a picture of the flowers sent to my mom on mother’s day. It was the first time I had the oppy to actually see what I sent! What a great idea. My mom absolutely loved the arrangement, and she is very hard to please! I highly recommend this florist.

I would like to caution all brides about working with Martha at Ashland Addison. I read the glowing Unilocal reviews and chose Ashland Addison for my Waldorf Astoria wedding. BIG MISTAKE!
Less than 2 weeks before my wedding, I made my final payment with Martha/​Ashland Addison. After my payment, she sent me an e-​mail to thank me for the payment and to let me know that she would not be there to set-​up my wedding. She was sending her colleague (who I’d never met, and who had never been to the Waldorf, to set-​up my wedding). In the e-​mail, she said she had the opportunity to host a baby shower for her step-​daughter and wanted to get the «brownie points, because her step-daughter’s biological mother couldn’t host». I sent her an e-​mail that I was very sorry she was not going to be at the wedding and wished her well with the baby shower.
However, after talking with friends/​family members, they suggested I e-​mail Martha and find out information about who was setting up the wedding. I sent the e-​mail and didn’t hear back from Martha. After a few hours, I called and spoke with someone else in weddings and events at Ashland Addison. From the start of the conversation, I emphasized that I was not looking to start any problems. I was concerned that someone else was setting up the wedding/​reception and I had only met with Martha. I left the conversation feeling upbeat, that even if Martha couldn’t do the set-​up, we would all converse the next day and I would be reassured that everything would be perfect. NOT THE CASE!
Martha called me the next day she was yelling. Her exact words were «I told you everything would be fine and if you don’t believe me, I will gladly refund your money and you can find a new florist». She went into a tirade about how her brides trust her. She repeated that line over and over…“my brides trust me… I told you everything was going to be fine”. I was completely caught off guard. My wedding was now 10 days away and this woman, who I thought was so nice, was now yelling at me and telling me to find a new florist.
I spent the next 8+ minutes calming Martha down. She defensively said that I called and «reported her». I quickly clarified that I called and repeatedly told the woman I spoke with how wonderful Martha had been. That I just wanted to make sure everything would be set-​up correctly on my wedding day.
I was now in a private phone room at work, hysterically crying from Martha yelling and me to find a new florist.
Martha finally agreed to take her colleague to see the Waldorf ballroom, so the woman would know how the room should be set-​up, as she had never been there before.
Here are some of the other highlights of the conversation with Martha:
–When I asked Martha why she hadn’t mentioned that she was unavailable (until I made my final payment), she tersely replied «I don’t see how me telling you that I wasn’t going to be at your wedding 3 weeks ago would have mattered… and I have a lot going on, so I wasn’t thinking about you, or your wedding.»
I tried to explain to Martha that «I would have gladly taken her colleague to the Waldorf and showed her the venue and made sure our visions were aligned, as I just had my final meeting with them two days ago».
Long story short, I could go on and on about how rude, mean and unprofessional Martha turned out to be, how no bride should find herself searching for a florist 10 days before their wedding. I eventually received a refund (after multiple calls to the manager at Ashland — who is related to Martha, by marriage, so there was no real empathy from the manager).
Here’s the happy ending. I was put in touch with Kehoe Designs by the Waldorf, as that is one of their preferred vendors. I should not have tried to look for a cheap alternative for my wedding and reception set-​up, as Ashland Addison was a huge mistake. One call to Nancy at Kehoe put me in touch with Joshua Jones. Joshua and I held a virtual conference call and I he patiently showed me pictures and I would tell him what I did or did not like. I never had an in-​person meeting with Joshua/​Kehoe. But, Kehoe was kind, sympathetic, and their goal was to make me happy. Not to mention, they have a reputation of spectacular designs.
Kehoe delivered flawlessly. I never met Nancy, or Joshua or Alexis at Kehoe, yet I will be forever grateful for the detailed touches they did to make my wedding beautiful.
Lesson for all brides, your wedding is going to be such an incredible day for you. You should not have the worry that your florist isn’t going to show up and send a substitute, or that your florist is going to yell at you. I should have gone with Kehoe from the beginning, as they were on the Waldorf’s list of recommended florists. There was a reason that Ashland Addison was not on that list!

I’ve had awful luck with big-​name floral delivery services (especially Teleflora — they were the *worst* company I’ve ever worked with) in the past, so this time around I went with a local florist and I’m so glad I did. I didn’t realize locals would have the same easy online ordering workflows, but Ashland Addison definitely did — I regret not discovering that sooner.
The online ordering was simple, and the prices for the Get Well bouquets and plants I was looking at were totally reasonable. They give you the option to require verification before they substitute components of the gift; I opted for that and they called me about an hour later to say they were out of the original vase. They gave me my pick of replacements (even though one called for more plants, they didn’t charge me differently), and it was very speedy.
Delivery to the hospital was fast and friendly, and my stepmother (recovering from a successful surgery) loved the Get Well gift. The balloon they provided was adorable. They even sent me a photo of the end result so I could be sure it was put together as pictured on the website. I LOVED that.
Thank you for changing my views on floral delivery services! I’ll definitely be back for future orders in the Chicago area.

These things seem to last forever. The only thing my girlfriend was more impressed with than the gorgeous arrangement was the longevity of these bad boys.
I’m clueless when it comes to arrangements and I know when I give them even the slightest idea of what my girlfriends likes/​wants they’ll deliver something that blows her mind.

I called Becca this morning after the blizzard to get a last minute flower arrangement sent for a funeral service this afternoon. After being told they were too busy by another florist I’ve used many times in the past, I started to panic. I looked for other florists that our company had used in the past, and Ashland Addison Florist came to the rescue!
I called at 9:15 a.m., and they said they could have it where it needed to be on the other side of the city by 1:00 p.m.
They will always be my first call from now on! They were more than polite, gave great suggestions for maximizing our budget, and the arrangement they designed that I chose was lovely. So happy with this company and with Becca! Thank you!

Amy at Ashland Addison did the flowers for my November wedding. Amy was very easy to work with and listened carefully to my preferences for flower type and budget. My bouquet and my maid of honor’s were beyond gorgeous. We had floating candles along the aisle and as centerpieces, which made the space look amazing. All the flowers were exactly what I had envisioned. The Ashland Addison staff were all extremely helpful and courteous throughout the night. They efficiently managed the «flip» after the ceremony as well. I cannot thank them enough for helping make our wedding magical.

My husband and I had a flower budget in mind as well as a vision for our Chicago wedding. We were surprised at how few florists were willing to be flexible with us. We communicated with multiple flower shops before deciding on Ashland Addison. Amy was so helpful from the beginning and willing to work within our budget and color scheme. I was beyond thrilled with the outcome– the table arrangements were simple, yet beautiful and i absolutely loved my bouquet and my bridesmaids’ bouquets. I’ve attached pictures so you can see what a great job Ashland Addison did. Can’t recommend them enough. Thank you, Amy, and the rest of the staff!

Not very happen with my delivery. Asked for something small and discrete with white flowers for a sympathy arrangement. We got a large arrangement (takes up a 3^rd of the recipient’s desk) with a riot of bright colors. Expensive, too — the price matched what we received, but that’s not what we wanted — if they’d done the smaller, quieter arrangement we requested, I’m sure it would have fit our budget better.

Bill was great over the phone answering all my questions. The result was beautiful. The flowers were delivered on time and the recipient was surprised and with a big smile. Thank you again for the beautiful arrangement. Happy!

I don’t have a green thumb okay? I kill plants. My husband and I had no clue where to begin with picking flowers for our wedding. We kind of knew we wanted all white flowers… and generally, when I see something I don’t like, I can identify it, but I had NO idea what any flowers were called or what was possible with regard to wedding flowers. We also knew that we didn’t want really tall arrangements on our tables and that we wanted flowers to add to the ambiance of our space, rather than take it over.
We met with several florists before deciding on Ashland Addison. Nothing felt 100% right until our meeting with Meghan. When I started describing what we wanted, she seemed to just «get it» and started pulling flowers from the back of the shop and describing candles and the vibe of our wedding. She was spot on. Leading up to our event, Meghan took it upon herself to meet with staff from our venue (we had no idea she even did this) and see the space. This extra level of proactivity seems to be the standard for Ashland Addison– they really do go above and beyond. In addition to our intitial meeteing, we met with Meghan a few weeks before our wedding and she gave us a preview of what she was thinking for our arrangements. Everything was gorgeous– exactly what we had imagined. We had a few small pieces of feedback, which she took and folded flawlessly into the arrangements for our wedding.
On the day of our wedding, I could not have been more happy. Meghan did a stellar job with ALL of our flowers and candles. My bouquet was beautiful– even prettier than I could have imagined… and our table arrangements fit flawlessly into the space. I’ll post pictures as soon as we have them!
Meghan and her team are extremely hard working, thoughtful and SO easy to work with. Not to mention affordable! Her quote was less expensive than any other florist we looked into. Working with Ashland Addison was fantastic.
