Behind the Scenes Catering & Events

We considered Behind the Scenes for catering our wedding reception at a private venue. We wanted a Hawaiian-​themed reception centered around quality food. Michael Meuer provided our proposals.
BTS’s pricing was in range of other proposals we received. Proposals came back looking more like sales pitches than addressing the food we wanted. Extra unrelated items would appear on our proposals after we’d explicitly said that we didn’t want them. Getting a final proposal was difficult.
Michael was fairly accommodating on menu items. He added some Hawaiian-​themed items that we wanted. He also kept adding bar drinks to our total after we explained that the venue was providing the liquor and drinks. It was very annoying to have to repeatedly ask to have the duplicate bar service removed.
Michael was the most unresponsive of the planners we worked with. We didn’t receive a response until roughly a month after our initial email. We received our first proposal roughly 2 weeks after that. Michael claimed that he «wanted the BTS tasting to be the last tasting we went to» to drive home the quality of their food, but he never managed to find time to schedule us in.
We decided not to go with BTS mainly due to the lack of response and service from Michael. If we felt like we were being blown off during the planning process, we didn’t want to take the risk of being blown off on the day of our reception.
Two stars for at least attempting to provide quality food.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this company. I had the pleasure of meeting David and Kristan at a networking event and they instantly made me feel at ease. They are incredibly helpful, professional, fun to work with, and THE FOOD! DELICIOUS! Truly a 5 star catering company. I would reccomend them to anyone looking for impecable service.
