As quotidian neighborhood pizza joints go, Big Tony’s is better than most. The food isn’t the best in the world, but it’s very affordable, and if you’re in a particular mindset — stoned, pregnant, desperate, or some combination of the three — they have a pretty decent selection of snacky stuff. The folks who run it are decent, they’ve always got a soccer match on TV, and they’re willing to bend over backwards for you. It won’t win any awards for cuisine, but if you want it faster and cheaper than Dante’s, or if you get that snow-day craving for rings or a pizza puff, it’s good to have around.

I ordered an extra large pizza, wings, salad and onion rings… the pizza was wrong. The wings were wrong. The«Fried Chicken» salad was a cut up chicken patty on a bed of lettuce and carrots(that were dirty and not peeled). I called to let them know and the guy gave me attitude for their wrong doings. He then only wanted to resend the wings, until I complained that was unacceptable. He then gave me attitude for requesting a new pizza too. When the driver came back, I tipped him another $ 5 on top of what I already topped for his trouble. He was so annoyed he had to come back… again, not my fault dude. They gave me grief for not sending back the wrong food. Open the new box of wings… WRONGAGAIN! The pizza was mediocre at best. I order feasts for my family every Sunday, this was definitely a disappointment. I was hoping for a better quality.

I have been eating pizza from time to time there since the 90’s when they use to be in the Bucktown Neighborhood. It’s not the best pizza in the world, but it works in a pinch. They’re pretty friendly in person but when you place an order on the phone they have attitude. Their phone etiquette stinks! First they hang the phone up on me. They do call back asking me if I still wanted the pizza and they hung up quickly without further details such as how long it would take and what the pricing would be. I call them back for this info and tell them I’m putting it under my credit card. When I told the guy the expiration date on my credit card he had no idea what numbers coincide with the month of the year so I had to school him. His response was full with so much attitude I decided to forget the order. They either need new phones where people could be heard clearly or they need someone on the phone who understands English a lot better. Ordering a pizza should never be a hassle. Needless to say I’ll never go back to eat there in person nor will I ever order from there.

Cheap, easy pizza. Nice that it’s near Whirlaway, so can drink and grab a slice on the way back home. $ 2.50 for a slice is nice. I’m sure large pizzas great and cheap too. Not much more to say!

Pretty good pizza despite the review here. 12 inch thin crust is only 11 dollars. We ordered it and when it got here it was hot, sauce was oksy not great and they have really good cannollis as well.

I love Big Tony’s. No the food is not ‘knock-you-over’ outstanding, but it is still VERY good. If you’re wanting a quick bite. They are speedy fast behind the counter, and the employees are some of the nicest guys you’ll meet. You can’t go wrong ordering any kind of fish or shrimp, it is all delicious at Tony’s. Their breaded chicken and fish sandwiches are my hands-down favorites.

I will no longer by any pizza from Big Tony’s. I was a customer for more than 10 years until I discovered a roach in one of the slices. The manager argued with me and did not want to give me another pizza. I will report this to the sanitation department because one of my children could have ate this piece.

Nice guys. Mediocre pizza. Very doughy, but good sauce. Also, this is the second pizza place I’ve tried in Chicago that just keeps their slices in one of those heated glass cases. Please stop taking cues from 7 – 11 guys :/

maybe big tony’s offers what i’ve decided is the definition of the«chicago slice», which is typically somewhere between think and thin crust & come packaged with a fountain beverage for around $ 3 — it might be considered a form of glorified frozen pizza. BUT why i like big tony’s is because they are always playing soccer games on their tvs. finding a slice in chicago is not as easy as you might think. finding a slice and a soccer match is rare!

Not the place to take a date but if you live close by and need cheap eats… this is the place to turn too! They have pizza, sandwiches, burgers, pastas, and other items on the menu which is pretty good!

I had the half pound bacon cheeseburger with fries and an order of onion rings to test out my faves at this Logan Square spot… it was delivered in half the time and everything was hot hot yum yum! The half pound burger was not a frozen patty but ground chuck hand formed it was real good, good salt n pepper taste, bacon could of been crispier but it was delivered, fries and rings had a good crisp to em too! I will definitely give them another shot when there’s nothing to eat and I need food delivered! Next up to try. the fried chicken and rib tips! Good prices too! Try em out!

This place is gross. Fluorescent lightening, cardboard pizza rotating in a display case all day, and about 8 chairs in the whole place. Plus, what kind of pizza place closes before midnight? Skip this place; but if you must eat here, make sure you’re good and drunk, or biblically hungover.

I ordered here because I was tired of paying $ 30 for a delivered pizza from Father and Son. My medium pizza with 3 ingredients and a 1 liter bottle of RC(great hangover combo) came to $ 18, $ 21 with a decent tip. How refreshing to not feel gouged! The pizza was decent, not gourmet, crust firm enough to hold the toppings and they were of fine quality and yes, as others have noted, it was a little bland, not totally bland, just a tad. I keep some«Pizza and Pasta magic» in the house just for that reason to sprinkle on bland grocery store and delivery pizza which totally did the trick.(it has red pepper flakes, herbs, parmesan, etc, you can find it in the spice section of most stores in town). I didn’t find it that greasy, it came in a box and the box was not greased up. I was glad. I will order here again because I like to support local businesses whenever I can and Marcellos seems like a factory to me these days and not really that consistent. When I want to spend more I will get a nice stuffed one from My Pie, but this is just fine for a thin pizza fix on a tight budget.

Bland? Soggy? Evidently, this is NOT the place to go to for slices. I have this theory that the larger the pizza, the more delicious it is. We all know the three elements of a phenomenal pizza: crust, cheese, and sauce. Crust is perfectly, thin. Pop it in the oven for a few minutes upon arrival and it’s also perfectly crispy. Cheese is tasty and plentiful. Sauce is present and not overwhelmingly sweet or salty. I had a few jalapeño and pepperoni slices at a friend’s party and absolutely loved it. Now, it’s all I get from there. Delivery time is probably half the quoted time. Two thumbs up, Big Tony. Sixteen bucks for a large, three topping pizza, including tax AND delivery. Not complaining… not complaining at all. Other pizzas I LOVE: John’s, Congress, Aurelio’s(Homewood)

Big Tony’s is definitely a favorite in our apartment. My husband is pizza crazy… breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He ordered from Big Tony’s a lot in his bachelor days. We usually get a large pan crust with pepperoni, occasionally mushrooms as well. I love to put crushed red pepper and parmesan cheese on top. We often rely on Big Tony’s when friends and family are in town. Good pizza, easy, and a cheap dinner for a group. You can always pick your pizza up in 15 mins. And it warms up great, so order extra!

There’s a saying that even bad pizza is good pizza. Tony’s is mediocre pizza but hey it’s still pizza.

2 words. Butter. Crust. I ordered a Thin Crust Large Cheese to-go. My pizza was done fast. The sauce was ok and the cheese was ok. The crust was, as I mentioned, a typical Chicago thin butter crust. I always wish for more, but I will have to move out of Chi to get it. For $ 11(after tax) it wasn’t a bad deal to split between 2 people late at night. 3 stars because it was no better or worse than any other random Chicago pizza place. You should know that it was only 1 star in my mouth.
