Easy in and easy out. It is your run of the mill liquor stoor close to the El. Bike parking on street. Security guard to make you feel safe at night.

Conveniently located 2 minutes from my door, I have become a good customer here the last year or so. They have a ok selection, but not the greatest. They get 3 stars for location, decent selection and for getting me drunk a few times.

Neighborhood liquor store, what do you expect? Cheapest cigs in the area, a decent, but not incredible selection of beers and wine. It’s great if you’re on the go, and need some quick supplies.

Been a loyal customer for years. They know me… unfortunately by my drink choice. Kronenberg 1664… and other stuff too. They are always friendly and nightly there is a veritable circus show put on by the clientele. About 7 years ago, before I had moved to Chicago, I first heard of this place because some patrons were beating someone up outside of the storefront while some of my friends watched horrified from the behind the relative safety of the Green Eye glass…

Awesome local corner liquor store! Every time I’m in the neighborhood, I have dropped into this place. Great selection of beer and with good prices.

Great location with a great stock of everything to get your night started off right. It’s usually a quick stop to pick something up some hard liquor for a party or a BYOB in the area, so it serves its purpose. It’s not a wine shop so the selection isn’t as vast. And it’s never empty — def one of the first liquor stores that come to mind when in the area equipped with security so I guess that would make it somewhat safe too, huh.

Sort of a typical corner store, but with more beer/wine selection than anything else of the food variety.(Other than a smallish selection of chips, candy, not much for the eating. And boy do I love eating. I guess that’s why Arturo’s is across the street…) This place definitely isn’t the cheapest, but they do have a good selection of craft brewery 6-packs(including O’Fallon’s pumpkin, a favorite of mine which is hard to come by).

When I was a full blown drunk and lived around the corner, I used to come to this place every day and two or three times a day depending on what kind of a party we were having. I developed a friendship with the guys who worked here. They knew me by face, if not by name and the owner would always give me free pieces of candy with my order. Once when i had been kicked out of two bars, the security guard let me sit on his stool and hang out for about twenty minutes before my roommate picked me up. I moved out of the neighborhood about a year ago and they got a less tolerant security guard, but I still stop in to pick up a six pack and say hi sometimes. My friends say it’s more expensive than other liquor stores, but it’s so conveniently located you can’t really complain.

The location is wonderful, they have a night security guard, but most importantly they carry several hard-to-find candies from local candymaker Ferrara-Pan: Orangeheads, Grapeheads, and Jawbusters(formerly Jawbreakers). Awesome!

Location, location, location… This place is ideally located right off the Western Blue Line stop and it is an ideal spot to stop if you live off this stop to pick up an ice cold beverage on your way home. This place is a little dump but they are well stocked and have a decent selection of beers, wines, and hard stuff. I got a chuckle and had a flashback to my youth when i saw the Mad Dog 20⁄20 in the cooler! the guy working the counter seemed rather odd. He barely spoke a word and was pretty much stone faced the entire time we were there. He was a little on the creepy side.

I started coming by MW because it is on my way home off the train. It has all your normal corner store items, alcohol, tobacco, small groceries, twinkies and whatnot. There is a security guard outside the store almost 24⁄7 even though this is increasingly unnecessary as the most dangerous thing in the ‘hood now are LP trixie and chad transplants and their BMW’s. It can be shady on that corner late at night sometimes. Prices are very fair especially for corner store prices and the alcohol selection is surprisingly good. The owner seems like a cool guy too.

One time I went to m&w and the dude with only one eye who works here was fighting with another guy. The guy accused him of «getting a dick stuck in the empty socket» and the accused me of giving him a bj. It truly made me sick. But one time, they gave me a bottle of wine for free(for no reason) and one time the kinda cute guy who works here creepily snuck up to me at a bar and offered to drive me home. Just go here ok.

This is a pretty decent small liquor store. They still employ a security guard at night to watch the door and keep away panhandlers. The wine selection leaves much to be desired. For such a small store, I was surprised by their nice little selection of microbrews. Don’t expect to find anything unusual or hard to find. Next time I stop in there I’ll take stock of which brewers they carry and then I’ll update this review. I also should mention that the liquor selection is also pretty big for such a small place. Brews this store carries(off the top of my head): Lagunitas, Great Lakes, Three Floyds, Dogfish Head, New Belgium, Unibrou. There are some unexpected imports as well.
