The food took a little while to prepare but it was worth the wait. Everything came out fresh and hot. I want to come back and try those mash potatoes that are gone so fast. It was a bit cold inside, bring a sweater. A good wine is a must with the food.

The food is solid here; really fresh with big, bright flavors. My friend and I ate here for dinner and were the only ones dining in when we got there at 6:30 on a Monday night, although within 30 minutes, another 6 – 8 tables had filled the room. My vegetarian meal was delicious(veggie sandwich on ciabatta — 5 steps above an average«veggie sandwich») and my friend, a slow-carb omnivore, was very satisfied with his skirt steak and veggie entrée. We split a side of falafel(a falafel sandwich is on the menu and we asked for a side of them), which were delicious, and our waitress brought a free dessert while saying something quietly about«Mondays…» I couldn’t quite hear her but she gave the impression desserts are free on Mondays because suddenly desserts were going out to nearly every table. Even without the promise of free dessert, I will easily come back again.

Coquito Latte’ !!?Need I say more !? This is a cute hidden little gem in Logan Square I was considering hosting a baby shower at. I ended up using another location but following them on Facebook was torturous with all the amazing pictures they post along with offers so I decided to give them a try for brunch one morning . I REALLY wanted to try their fruit french toast but sadly, the waitress told us they were out before we had a chance to order .OK no worries, decided to try the the fruit pancakes instead.3 fluffy pancakes with apple, kiwi, strawberry slices and fresh whipped cream .My boyfriend went with the veggie omelet with a side of potatoes. AMAZING ! The omelet was perfectly cooked and the potatoes were so good! My pancakes were just perfect with my coquito latte’! The best part was, if you check in on Unilocal you get a free dessert! FREECHOCOFLAN? Is this real life ? I’m really looking forward to coming in for lunch or dinner soon. Follow them on Facebook for great offers and don’t forget to check in for free dessert !!

Waited 15 minutes for service. Which is funny because there were no other tables. So I can’t comment on the food.

Good food, but slooooowww to acknowledge patrons at their tables and at least offer water. Maybe call in orders are the preference? The only waitess spent 5 minutes on the phone before even looking our way.

Their food is delicious… this is one delish hidden gem! We have been coming here for years… I bring my staff here or have it delivered to the office. Some of the items we consistently get… Tres Leches — some of the best in the city! I will order it for a special event Asian Salad — some say they dream about it! Caribbean Chicken Breast — sooooo good… reminds me of a madeira chicken served w/potatoes and asparagus… im picky with my chicken and they do a yummy job! Check in on Unilocal for some free goodies! WIll be back :)

What a cute little place! This gem should be nestled in-between legend Chicago restaurants. It could definitely compete. They have a small sitting space, but the decorated interior and the little seating outside more than makes up for it. I can’t imagine how it would be on a crowded day. I had the chocolate cake slice and a delicious salad. Both tasted fantastic. Our waiter was sweet and friendly. Can’t wait to go back.

This seems like the kind of place that was founded by service workers from Fulton Market; a sort of refugee way station for the people in need of well made, well presented/well-plated food who have the disfortune of living in a semi food desert of the mid north side. The use of the ingredients was really interesting. From using blue corn chips for the multi fruited Guac, to watching all kinds of people coming and going. The service was a bit slow. Needed to remind her that while they have delivery, it shouldn’t be the sit down customers who have to wait 20 mins without being able to putt something into their cobhole. Having experienced the lay out and service I can say you should be able to pretentiously complain about how you know the busboy who knows the dude who blew your college roommate who founded that tech startup and how you’re jealous that your life sucks so bad due to your own bad life choices while not taking responsibility for any of them. Anyway, smoothies rock. Sandwiches use components sourced from costco and they are all very well accompanied by some kind of zesty salsa, or dressing as you plebs call it. Give them some business so they staff this joint better during normal living hours. Yummy but slow, fix that shit!

Café Bella is a definite hidden gem. I’ve been here twice — the last time I came in on my birthday with my GF. We started with the Trio Of Guacamole w/Chips, which has guac with mango, apple, and grape, and the fruit perfectly balanced it and added a great unique flavor. I ordered the Caribbean Jerk Chicken Breast and she had the Grilled Salmon, both having a great sweet taste and good portion size. To finish, my GF surprised with the Homemade Choco Flan, and the server(coincidentally named Bella, who was excellent) putting a candle in it and singing Happy Birthday. There was a band playing jazz too. If you can get the Groupon for this, scoop it up as well!

Food was awesome! Presentation was excellent, portion size was very good, and most important the flavor was perfect. Not bland nor over seasoned. Had a pastel de tres leches for dessert and a hot latte. Both really good, too. We went in on a Sunday morning and in a bit of a rush, the server was able to take care of us promptly and get us on our way, very friendly and courteous. When yougo, definitely try the black rose with avocado!

The grilled jibaritos are super deelish and I like the side options of green earth salad or pasta salad. I tried the chicken sand it seems it had been marinating b/c it was super juicy and flavorful. We went on a weekday evening and there was no wait.

Every once in awhile I stumble upon some small café or restaurant in Logan Square and I am immediately reminded that I live in a sweet neighbourhood. I went to Café Bella one Sunday afternoon, not expecting much, but was very much pleased when all was said and eaten. Café Azteca. Pesto shrimp. Chicken quesadillas. Tour de Bella. The café Azteca was a café mocha, but better than what I’ve had at most coffee shops that serve mocha coffee like what you get from Starbucks. The shrimp in pesto over salad were fat, plump, popping. The chicken quesadillas had a tomato base to the tortillas, which was not what I was expecting. By the time I was done with the last quesadilla and hadn’t complained, it was all good. The Tour de Bella wore me out, in a good way. Chicken, shrimp, and steak with grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes. I worked that dish slowly, leaving nothing behind buy gravy. Café Bella isn’t a big box restaurant. It’s a hole in the wall. And with an open kitchen scheme, you get to see your food being cooked. The service is slow, and for anyone who has been to Latin American countries or to the Caribbean, you’ll get it. There were a few times I had to go to the counter to request something, but I was accustomed to that way things operating during summers in Jamaica. Nevertheless, Café Bella is on my list when I’m not in a mood to be rushed like I’m going to Grand Lux Café and sitting in the bar section.

Amazing mochas, and desserts! The fresh earth salad and pasta salad is such a pleasant surprise. Everything here is truly great, and wholesome, I’m so happy it’s in my neighborhood.
