Yeah… cash only totally sucks at a crappy little corner store, but one thing Candy’s can definitely boast is an awesome feature that you rarely see at most other places of the same category. Slushies! Red and blue. The word is fun to say, they’re sweet to eat, and they cool you off in the summer heat. Despite my lame rhyme you gotta respect a slushi machine that shows up when you least expect it.

Cash-only, 3 students at a time only, this is your basic corner store. I find it has a better selection than the other stores in the area(Noble Pantry, «Crush» Grocery), and usually has the items I’ve run out of or forgotten to pick up at the grocery store. They have basmatti rice in a cute burlap sack! The owner(?) is really nice and chatty. The corner isn’t shady, so I don’t know what Nathan A. is talking about. There’s a bougie Irish Pub across the street for goodnessake. I only wish the sold liquor.

Candy’s is really close and very convenient. Though in a slightly shady street corner, it’s the perfect place to go if you need a gallon of milk or some bread. It’s a very small shop and they have a little deli in the back. I’ve never seen anybody buy meat from back there and it looks like they don’t use it very often. The guys working in there are always very friendly and always say hello. They have an ATM in the back near the refrigerators. I stop in often to get some cash when on my way to the Breakfast Club. It’s nice knowing Candy’s is there in case of a food emergency!
