Got my hair cut today by Ms Vicky, I’m weary of business with low numbers of ratings (not low ratings) but decided to try, I was welcomed with a bright smiling face, comfortable décor, and clean environment. Ms Vicky took her time cutting my hair to my liking and wasn’t rushed like you find in a lot of big box hair dressers (this is Independant and family owned), my haircut was just as I asked for at a very reasonable price for the area. I will continue to visit this as my local hair dresser and would recommend all who support local businesses to give Char Bella a try… The chairs are really comfortable too

GO SEE MARTELL!!! First, let me say the shop itself is pretty easy to walk past if you’re not looking carefully. When you walk in, it’s a nice vibe. Everybody is friendly. There is a female barber (the owner) in the first chair. She’s good too. The guys in the other chairs are good. Don’t feel like you have to go to the first person that greets you. Go to the person you want to try. If they don’t work out, next time try somebody else. No pressure. I recommend Martell.
So what makes his cuts good? Well he asks what you want and will consult with you to make sure he understands what you want. He will even let you check it out as he does a section if you are unsure. Some barbers don’t like that and it can be uncomfortable, but he’s cool with it and just wants you to like the cut. Next, he’s very detailed. My old barber would push my line back and when it would grow back it would look messy. He fixed that and he makes sure your lining matches on both sides (again some barbers aren’t that detailed unfortunately). He can cut different grades of hair too. Mine is fine and also curly/​wavy. He doesn’t just cut one kind of ethnic hair type– he’s a versatile barber.
The price is comparable to other places so I find it to be reasonable. He takes appointments and I’ve never had to wait.
I’ve been coming here about 2 months and I’m glad I found this shop. I will add he is an LGBT friendly, straight barber. Me and my partner both go here for cuts and never feel uncomfortable. That’s really important given the location in boystown. Check him out!!!

When I moved to Chicago, I had a hard time trying to find a hair salon that does a wave nouveau. I found Charbella Hair Salon through a google search. Ms. Vickie (she is the owner) did my hair. She did a beautiful job. She took the time and care to make sure that my hair was done correctly.
