Went here with my husband after the Chicago Marathon and it was amazing! Let’s just say we were in rough shape before our appointment. But after the recovery room, we’re either healed or almost back to normal. We called to schedule a drop in appointment and didn’t have an issue getting an open slot. We did the compression boot and ice bath session. It was the best $ 20 spent EVER. Reggie was very polite, helpful, and attentive to our needs. I’m sold and plan on coming here whenever we’re in need of some instant relief.

I have tried the recovery room compression boots and ice after a extra long bike and am a believer! No pain whatsoever… in fact it felt as though I did not even work out hard. My muscles were not sore at all the day of my ride or any days after. I will definitely regularly hit this place when I am looking to recover from a hard workout or event quickly. The staff that I have met are all wonderful! Liz and Keelan are very knowledgeable and professional and Elo is friendly and helpful upon arrival. So happy to have discovered Chicago Recovery Room!

This place is amazing. I ran my first marathon last year and am currently training for my second, and I give CRR full credit for making my body feel refreshed and strong after tough runs. Let’s break this down… — CRR has an awesome location in the South Loop that’s easily accessible for those coming from other neighborhoods. For me, it’s just a couple of blocks away and I’m very lucky! The space is clean, there’s plenty of equipment, and the hours are fantastic. My favorite part about the space is the«Rocked It!» wall, where members can write about their achievements. It’s decorated with race times and bibs, providing some inspiration while I’m recovering. — Before my fiancé told me about compression boots(he’s CRR’s first member), I thought my legs would always feel wrecked after a run or bike ride. The NormaTec boots have changed my outlook on running. These compression boots are pretty much all I use at CRR(although there are tons of foam rollers, a huge ice bath, compression sleeves for your arms, and other fancy items that I need to play with). After using the boots, my leg feel almost as good as new. I came here immediately after finishing the marathon last year and was in great shape the rest of the day. — You can get a membership that includes a monthly massage. This was the original reason I signed up for a membership, as the cost was much less than going for a massage elsewhere. The massage therapists are fantastic. I typically go to Morgan, who makes me feel human after my back has turned to stone. She is also awesome, which makes the experience even better. I have also gone to Michelle and she is great as well. — The people who work here are just really fantastic. Liz, the owner, is so friendly and fun to talk to while you’re hanging out in the boots or ice bath. She is always coming up with fun things for members, like yoga classes or sending interesting articles on training or nutrition(my personal favorite!). It makes CRR more than just a place where I come to rest my legs. The rest of the people who work at CRR are friendly and helpful — I have never met anyone here who I didn’t like! Bottom line — if you’re an athlete, whether you’re a runner, cyclist, cross-fitter, or you just work out like a beast, check this place out. You won’t be disappointed!

Liz rocks. Chicago Recovery Room rocks. For athletes — from professionals, wannabe professionals, all the way to weekend warriors, there is no better resource and place to keep you active and ward off injuries. Between CrossFit and racing, my body is constantly banged up. And as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned(the hard way, through injuries), that proper recovery is as important as training. CRC offers you a place for all your recovery needs — drop in and use compression boots, electric stim machines, and hop in the ice bath(have you ever tried to make your own ice bath — it sucks. This is waaaaay easier). There’s a monthly membership option(really cheap, and an incredible value), and drop-in rates. And if you have nagging issues, or need a little tune-up, Liz and her massage therapists offer 30, 60, 90 minute body work focused on sports massage, active release, Graston, dry needling, you name it. It’s not relaxing or foofy — it’s meant to keep your body in prime shape to keep kicking a** at whatever you are doing. You get a discounted rate for being a member of the recovery room as well. Liz is constantly helpful, Morgan and Michelle are fantastic massage therapists, and the rest of the staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

I play basketball three times a week and after each game my hamstring would get tight and so my friend told me to go to the recovery room and see Liz! Needless to say Liz is amazing in one visit I was hooked and signed up for a membership and it’s the best investment I’ve made this year. Liz gets my legs fully recovered and also gives me great tips on improving my performance. I suggest you go ASAP plus the hours are great so I can come after work.

This past winter I fell on some ice and landed hard on my hip, resulting in what seemed at the time to be a mild hip injury. A month later I was in physical therapy and barely able to walk. I saw a physical therapist for six weeks(twelve sessions!) and she got me walking and moving around, but the discomfort never completely went away and as soon as I tried running the pain came back with a vengeance. Then I went to see Liz. If you’re looking for a nice-time massage with flutes playing in the background and dim lights, this is not for you. My massage sessions with Liz were SO painful, but in a good way. After one session I could feel a huge difference and after just five sessions(one per week) I was back to completely 100% pain-free running. Not only was my time with Liz effective, but Liz herself is amazing. She listened to what I needed and was supportive and encouraging. Where my previous therapist all but told me that I should give up on running, Liz gave me good advice on how to safely get back into it. She’s genuinely pleasant to spend time with, even when she’s inflicting excruciating pain. I almost want to start training for an endurance race so I can have an excuse to go and hang out with her at CRR(maybe in those weird space boots rather than having my IT band massaged into painful submission).
