I called John to look at the water leak from my roof due to the recent rains. It took him a couple of appointments to make it to my place but with all the flooding and storm damage around the neighborhood, that is completely understandable. He may have missed the first appointment but he made sure that he called to let me know that he won’t make it. No harm done.
He came in to inspect the roof and gave me an estimate. He was upfront that his schedule is pretty tight and that he will have to get back to me to let me know when he can actually start working on my roof. He came back a couple of days later, fixed the roof, took pictures and videos of what he found and walked me through the issues that he fixed.
Very professional and very efficient. He left the work area very clean and in the same condition as when he found it. I will definitely add him to my contact list.

If you’re looking for a roofer who won’t finish the job, won’t show up when they say they will, give you attitude, fail to return your calls for two months, and then suddenly threaten to send you debt collections before showing up unannounced on a Sunday night to demand a check, you’re in luck – these are the roofers for you.
My roof was leaking pretty bad, so Chicago Roofing came out as scheduled and did some repairs. A week later it was raining and there was still a small leak, so I called John from Chicago Roofing. He got defensive and told me I didn’t tell him it was leaking in that spot but he would be out a few days later to fix it and pick up a check. He never showed up, never called. I called him every week for a month, but never heard back from him. He finally calls me back a month later wanting a check and threatening to send me to a debt collection. I remind him the roof is still leaking, he tries to tell me that’s just the way my roof is, I disagree and once again he says he’ll come out and fix it.
So I take a day off of work to take care of this, but I guess I wasn’t too surprised when he never showed up and never called. I left a message a few days later to give me an address to send him a check and told him that I’ll find someone else to finish the job. He refused to give me an address for some reason but he did decide to show up at my house without any warning at 9pm on a Sunday wanting his money.
There are a plenty of roofers in Chicago. I wish I would have gone with one of them. John should not be dealing directly with customers; he turned a simple job into a huge pain and he always reeked of cigarette smoke.

I used Chicago roofing to repair the flat roof on my garage. John Came to my house and gave me a free est. for a new roof. That is what I asked for. I thought I needed because it was leaking. He went up on the roof & assessed it. John invited me up to show me the roof condition & explain his thoughts. I have a modified rubber flat roof. He recommended a full tear off & rafter replacement. There were many layers of roofing, overlaid on rafters that were not sufficient over the wide span of my nearly 3 car wide garage. It was a costly endeavor over 4 thousand dollars. Not something I quite had in the budget. But then & this is what gave him the 5 stars he suggested until I could afford the full replacement that he could perform a repair to the poor roofing installation done by the previous contractor. It’s been over a month now no more leeks. Apparently the roofing material was not wrapped over the wall & under the roofing tiles. They repaired/​patched it for less than 500.00. These guys worked quickly, and I will use them again, when I can afford to replace the entire roof. Thank you, John & Mike.
